Thread: LvL 20 Guard looking for advice on virtues

Hi, everyone. LVL 20 guard here on server Vilya. Looking for advice on which most recommended virtues post Isenguard.

For starters, I know Fate isn't one of our primary stats, but from what I read, that is what in-combat morale and power regen comes from. I thought that it would have been from vitality, but it isn't. so, is it better to max a virtue that gives fate or one that offers in-combat power/morale regen? Secondly, I know that physical mitigation is essential, but until I get to pvp areas, is tactical mitigation important? Also, can Might and Vitality be maxed by equipment or should i go for virtues that also add to it? I also know resistance if pretty important, but how much is needed or recommended? Thanks for suggestions peoples.

First of all congrats on choosing a guardian, probably one of the best classes in the game...

With the release of RoI virtues cannot be maxed out anymore, so you dont have to worry about that. Your primary stats are vitality and might, with maybe agility as a secondary (increased parry and evade ratings), but honestly you dont have to worry at all about Will of Fate (mine is around 150 at lvl 75). We have plenty skills that restore power in combat and for healing we got minis.

Virtues wise you should look for ones that have either moral, physical mitigation, some icpr (in combat power restore, having a bit always helps). As for tactical mitigation, it is a big thing you should have once you enter high level areas, where mobs start to deal tactical dmg...

My current setup looks like this, Zeal, Innocence, Loyalty, Discipline and Valour.

for virtues, go all out with vitality, might, physical mitigation, and morale

don't worry about iCMR from fate. while iCMR IS useful, trying to build it up with fate is going to be at the detriment of other really important virtues that i would rank higher for you. try to find raw iCMR stats on gear instead


i wouldn't worry too much about tactical just yet. if you go into an area with a lot of mobs using fire attacks, try to trade something for more tactical mitigation, but you probably don't need to worry about it as much as physical mitigation for a while yet.
