Hey, I noticed they sell something called LOTRO Mithril Edition, and as it seems well worth its value since its like buying path of the fellowship quest pack + getting 2000 tp and random bonus stuff free, a few questions came to my mind.
1. If I buy it, can i add it to my existing account? I do not feel like abandoning my lvl20 captain :>
2. It says it includes "Moria" but when i look at lotro point store, there are two Morias there, the expansion & the quest pack. Im confused by this, could anyone explain it to me?
yes the Mithril edition can be added to an existing account, I've done so myself last week.
The Mithril edition includes the quest pack (only allows you to do the quest) for Moria as opposed to the expansion (which gives you an extra character slot plus unlocks the Rune Keeper and Warden class and maybe a few other bits, can't remember right now)
there are quest packages included NOT moria or whatelse
it could be added to an existing account but u got 2 buy moria in the lotro ingame shop
no further slots are unlocked like it would be if u got moria expansion
i bought it from amazon for having something for my "games-shelf" to display coz i started lotro in summer
in the amazon description u could read "including ALL expansions" but it is not true
so u got the horse and 2000 points
Mm, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say but it states in mithril.lotro.com that it includes all quests in Path of the Fellowship bundle, which are Trollshaws, Eregion, Mines of Moria, and Lothlórien... I dont think they would put complete BS on their marketing page, would they?

I don't understand him either, but what it states on the Mithril web page is what you get. Which is...

Agreed, I'm not sure what is being stated here either, but if you buy the Mithril edition you do get the 'Path of the fellowship' quest packs so what I did was buy Evendim & Foroschel with some of the 2000 tp you get with the mithril edition and then you're fixed to take your toon to level to 65.
And apart from the already mentioned perks, applying this starter pack to a free acount also upgrades it to a (non-VIP)premium account.
So you get the additional char slot, 5 gold ceiling and AH access.
Basically it counts the same as buying TP points for money.
So... basically, are the INSTANCES from moria, lothlorien, trollshaws and whatelse ALSO included?
Cause when I check the store, I only see a couple skirmishes. I don't find the Grand Stair instances, fo example.
Summing up:
If I buy the moria QUEST PACK (saying moria as an example, we could also say RoI quest pack), do I also get access to the class instances and skirmishes in it?
If no, do I have to be ViP to get them? Or what must I do?
Is there a way to have access to them without being ViP?
i buy mithriel edition.i created turbine account and forum account but when i started playing lotro nothing from mitriel edition did apear in the game on my existing account.can someone tell how to apply mithriel edition to free account?
Just to make sure I understood your question correctly... You bought the Mithril Edition and installed the game, then you set up an account and started to play, but you didn't get any of the Mithril goodies?
If that is the case, you'll need to go to the account page and enter your Mithril Edition code there. Start the launcher, but do not start the game. At the top of the launcher window, you'll see a button saying "Account". Click that button and it will take you to the account page. There, you can log into your existing account with your username and password (on the lower left of the page).
Once you're logged into the account page, there should be the option "Activate Product key". After entering the code, the page will ask you whether you want to add that code to an existing or a new account. Chose your existing account and click "Apply". After that the page should inform you that the code was successfully activated and that your account was upgraded to premium (if you are F2P at the moment).
If the points that come with the Mithril Edition have a separate code, you'll have to enter that in the ingame Store. Pull up the Store panel and click "Add more points". Then chose "Redeem my Points Card". Again, you will have to enter the appropiate code. After confirming the transaction, you should receive your TP.
Note that the Mithril Edition mount will be added automatically to the mounts panel of all your existing characters (and also to all characters you may roll in the future on that account) but that you won't be able to use the mount until you buy the riding skill from the Store. It costs 95 TP and should be easily covered by the Mithril TPs.
i was playing lotro before i get mithriel edition.i did not have turbine account only user name.then i instal mithriel edition activated the product key and make turbine account.it didnt asked me do i want to add that code to an existing or a new account.i started playing whit existing account and i didnt get mithriel goodies.
This thread is confusing me. I am reading "pre-order release date as February of 2012. " all over the place. And yet you guys saying you already applied it to your accounts. What up with this Mithil edition?

I believe it's currently for sale in the European Union countries. It's coming out in February in the USA.

I had the same question - thanks for clarifying. I purchased it in December for an extra 500 bonus TP (making it 2,500 TP total, plus the horse and 4 quest packs) but I haven't received anything yet (USA resident) which fits with a February release date.
I'm hoping the earlier poster who stated that the resulting upgrade to Premium account status is correct, and that an extra character slot, 5 gold limit, and AH access is in the offing too. I figure that with all that included, the 2,500 TP can be used to buy Isengard, RK/Warden classes, or whatever other in-game content you want that isn't included in Mithril. Seems like a pretty good way to go if you are looking to spend just a little $$ and want to maximize content from that purchase.
My hope/plan is to combine the 2,500 TP with diligent in-game TP farming and smart TP spending decisions, so that I get access to pretty much everything in the game (that I want anyway) while only spending real money on Mithril. Wish me luck...

I was F2P before I activated the Mithril Edition on my account and I was premium after that. (I live in Europe, so I could purchase a box copy of the Mithril Edition last autumn.) I received all the extras you mentioned in your post; the only exception is the raised gold cap. I had removed my gold cap via the Store quite some time before I bought the Mithril Edition and thus cannot verify this detail. I also gained the ability to send gold per in-game mail.

OK, that's great news. Thanks for taking the time to relate your experience! I don't know why the US release date is so much later than Europe, but I appreciate your confirmation.
The only annoying thing with mithril edition is that the MoM expansion is not included. If you buy that in store you will get the quest pack (included with Mithril) as well. Maybe there should be a point refund for those buying mithril box first and then MoM in store.

At that point you may as well skip the Moria expansion and just get the individual parts you're missing as that'd probably be cheaper (like if you only wanted the 2 extra classes).
This thread has already cleared up a lot of queries I had about the Mithril Edition, so much so that I grabbed one from Amazon, and I've installed it, updated with my code etc and now have a premium account. My only remaining question is how can I be sure everything has been installed because as a lvl 4 character I'm still in my starter area and don't really feel up to running all the way to Rivendell just to check I can access it. I wouldn't be asking, and I'd just wait and see, but I was on the LOTRO Store the other day and one of the quest packs I should already have showed up as being purchaseable. Just wondering if this is a problem, a glitch or whatnot, as I've never done this kind of thing before?
Thanks.

Whenever you start the game up the launcher checks your game files automatically. If anything is missing it downloads it...this is the same thing that happens on patch day when new stuff gets added to the game. If your game didn't have everything you wouldn't even be able to log in and play.
If you were able to log in and play before buying the Mithril edition then you didn't even need to install the game again with the Mithril discs. The discs don't add anything...they're just there for those players who don't already have the gameinstalled. All you needed was to apply the code which is what unlocks the content you already have installed.
As for being able to access Rivendell, Rivendell is on open terrain so everyone can run there, even players who haven't bought the content. All world zones are open to everyone...it's only the quests and deeds that are locked until bought.
So you can try going to Rivendell. The only thing that may stop you is running into higher level critters that can kill you real fast (they're high 30's/low 40's if I recall right).
Anyway, which store content was still showing available to you that you already bought? If it was Moria or Isengard then what you probably saw was the expansion bundle for that zone. For example Moria comes in a simple Quest Pack (which is what is included with the Mithril Edition) and also comes in a Mines of Moria expansion bundle (Quest Pack, extra character slots, Warden and RK classes, etc....this is not the version included in Mithril Edition). So, if you already own the Quest Pack the expansion bundle version will still be available in the store just in case you want to buy it for the extras.
My only remaining question is how can I be sure everything has been installed because as a lvl 4 character I'm still in my starter area and don't really feel up to running all the way to Rivendell just to check I can access it.
You have all the software installed, don't worry. You can travel to every zone, whether you have "purchased" it or not. There are no restrictions on where you can run your character to (except the Ettenmoors for PvMP).
What you see for sale in the store are quest packs and expansions. These UNLOCK quests and deeds in a zone. You can always travel to any zone, and do the Epic quests there (once you are high enough level). It's the non-Epic quests and deeds that you need to unlock either via the Store or by subscribing (becoming VIP).
