CM is the little snow covered mountain directly north of the TR Rez Circle. The mountain is easiest to climb from the south east side. The purpose of CM is a place where both creeps and freeps can safely gather for 1v1s and spars due to a general "Gentleman's Agreement" among the players. Don't agree? Then just stay away and let us have our happy little community to kill each other with style....or we will kill you.
General Conduct
1. Candy Mountain is the sacred land of kidneys and other guts, you will not defile the land with cowardice. ~ Aces
2. You may not attack anyone on CM without first challenging them. If they do not accept you may not attack them.
3. Dueling is a spectator sport. Do not eat, stab, set on fire, or electrocute the spectators. If you are there to spectate and do not want to fight you should either be marked /afk or be using /sit. If you are hit by an AoE or accidental target tab while spectating please back away from the fight.
4. Absolutely no assistance is to be given to anyone engaged in a dual, even if their opponent is dead. Most importantly, you may not heal the winners, dual kills from DoTs do happen and any healer who prevents one has broken the code. You can rez the losers though.
5. You must fight to the death, the fight is not over until someone dies. The only exception is an accidental dual, in which case you must jump off CM without doing any damage to your attacker, if you attack back the dual is no longer an accident. A dual is an accident when one person attacks the wrong opponent (due to confusion from multiple challenges) or attacks before the other has /bow ed.
6. To issue a challenge you must jump up and down on someone, to accept begin jumping as well.
Fight Conduct
1. You may not have any buffs from other classes during a dual, you can buff yourself in the prep stage. No capt, filer, WL, LM buffs etc. (Unless you are one of course) If someone with buffs from other classes challenges you it's best to not accept. Don't gank over it though.
2. Although not illegal please refrain from using LOTRO Store bought items (specially the 30 sec CD pots and brands). If a user of these things challenges you and you don't want to fight someone using them just don't accept. If you want to fight anyway then go ahead.
3. All pots/items obtainable without the use of TP are legal.
4. Once the challenge has been accepted, the two contestants should move away from the spectators and other duels, then begin prepping.
5. Once you have eaten your food etc use the /bow emote to show your ready, once both sides have bowed you may attack!
6. Once the fight is started you may do anything to yourself or your opponent except jump off CM. Fight ends when one of you dies (obviously). If someone else interferes with the fight you must immediately cease and the offender needs to be punished.
Conduct Violations
Most important of all, these are community enforced rules and penalties you CANNOT report someone to Turbine for breaking them or for harassment. If someone does not agree and tries to gank you on CM then just kill them and get on with it.
If someone violates the code he is to be immediately destroyed by the other side. All who interfere with the punishment are to be ganked as well. The offenders are not to be ganked again when they return unless they repeat the offense, continuous repeat offenders are to be killed on sight.

this is a pansy way to fight. no buffs? unless you buy your buffs on creepside you have to wait until at least rank 6 (excluding war-leaders) to get any kind of stance or buff where as freeps have skills that buff them. Freeps have access to almost identical destiny point/tp buffs...Same and/or similar pots are available for both sides.
Gentleman's Agreement is only and solely meaning an understood peace from the bottom of the ramp to the mountain and all over the top nobody attacks the other while in this designated area unless mutually agreed to spar. /bow /jump are adequate signals to let your interest in sparring your target be known. anything you can do to better your chances whether its bought buffs, earned buffs, or destiny point buffs are obviously legal. if you don't think you can compete with somebody with these buffs simply ignore the emote to decline request.
This thread should be deleted. You putting up insignificant "COC's" overlaying already placed COC's by turbine is dumb. Though their COCs does not mention the Gentleman's Agreement, its word to mouth agreement on whats going on. Not including all these restrictions to buffs and ####. That's garbage.
"If someone violates the CoC he is to be immediately destroyed by the other side. All who interfere with the punishment are to be ganked as well. The offenders are not to be ganked again when they return unless they repeat the offense, continuous repeat offenders are to be killed on sight."~Eldrandir
The above quote is brain-dead, common sense. I do believe everybody realizes they are in the Ettenmoors which is the ONLY area for pvmp. It's all about fighting another player no matter if your turtling, zerging, doing quests, fishing, mining, or ganking at TA, LC, EC, CM, Grams, Delvings, etc....It's a player made agreement to not attack unless agreed upon spar on CM. Plain and simple. Don't complicate things and add your needs and wants and nit-picking foolishness. Like you understand, hopefully, those who don't respect the agreement are obviously fresh meat to any and all of the opposing side of the non-agreed player.
Thank you, best of luck to those who enjoy everybodys spars whether your participating or just watching. I support a happy, healthy, social, and friendly Dwarrowdelf community.
Bee's CoC makes more sense than not having any buffs whatsoever. Some buffs a freep/creep can't help but get due to the nature of some abilities that they have. I know Wardens have buffs just for their taunt shouts, same as Minis.
I believe what the OP means by not having buffs, is not having buffs from other classes. This is a correct stipulation to make, since the fight is a 1v1 which means no outside help. Having Motivating Speech and Relentless Attack if one is not a Captain, or Slick Flesh and Imposing Presence if one is not a Defiler/Uruk, falls outside the bounds of a 1v1. Buffs are not any different than heals in how they impact the playing field. Self-buffs are obviously fine, as are debuffs applied to the opponent. TP buffs are questionable, I will support anyone who attempts to abort a duel because their opponent for example used an in-combat brand and is not Rank 15, especially if it is used to greatly imbalance the fight(ie. against a Lore-master or Spider).
I agree though that calling anything a CoC gives the wrong impression. Any parameters for fighting in a particular place in the PvMP zone are entirely contained to the ability of each side of players to enforce those parameters. Everyone is going to have a slightly different idea of what they support happening. When in doubt and a conflict begins to escalate due to a series of accused breaches that are disagreed upon, take the fight to stab and duke it out until things simmer down then forget about it.
Calling it CoC was pretty stupid, changing that as much as possible.
@Bee Of course most of this is plain stupid common sense, that's the only language freavers seem to be capable of understand, and their fluency in that has been brought to question. TBH, I half expected Aces to show up and say the same thing.
In relation to the buffs of course I mean no buffs obtained from other classes, I will try to make my meaning more apparent. A hunter should not be challenging ppl on CM while under the Motivated or Relentless Attack buff, an Uruk should not be running around with slick flesh etc. TP stuff is just plain stupid, and I don't want some R5 creep winning a fight just because he bought a bunch of R15 brands in the store or a freep winning for the same type of reason, but if you want to use them go ahead. I said please refrain, not if you use them you will be ganked. Buffs like food or those defense pots are perfectly legal, because the opposing side can just as easily get them, but TP buffs are not obtainable by all. As for self buffs, telling a warden he can't apply his stance buff or something like that is just as idiotic as you said it is.

Plenty of people on both sides have gone to CM for the first time and broken the rules, but instead of just being killed then coming back slightly wiser they get ganked every time they step back onto CM and get excluded from an agreement they did not originally even know about. In other words, your version of it does not have room for those who broke the agreement they did not know about but now agree and are being ganked by others who do agree anyway.

Good for you, just so happens so do I. As Jac said, everyone will have a different idea, I am simply trying to bring mine to a respected status that can just be linked into OOC when someone starts asking a ton of questions about CM. You want to report me for it or troll the thread to Hades? Go ahead. Sure, it's just a Gentleman's agreement, and if everyone is agreeing on the same thing so much the better.

For those of you (like myself) who do not agree with this just stay away from CM. Personally think the idea of a 1v1 is silly .. am an Uruk and therefore not a gentleman.
(could just be I play a class not really designed for any form of 1v1 or fair play)
Having said that for anyone who continuously punishes some poor guy who wanders up there without knowing about Candy Mountain and all it entails ... if you do this I will rain my furious vengeance down upon thee (ie organise a raid and belt the offenders).

Don't worry Arakaz, this will last for about as long as it takes for someone to have a big sookie lah lah over getting ganked and then all bets will be off...CandyMountain will be open season again and then about a month later someone will invent a new code of conduct for someone else to break and then someone will have a big sookie lah lah over getting ganked and then all bets will be off...CandyMountain will be open season again and then about a month later someone will invent a new code of conduct for someone else to break and then someone will have a big sookie lah lah over getting ganked and..... but i'll be where you, Luna and the rest of your friends are..... Mwoohahahaha

@toa
its not even CoCs...its common sense. No matter what rank what buffs what food what pots or what class you are playing if you think you cannot compete with somebody who is requesting a spar with you, simply decline and enjoy the show of other spars. Like what was posted by whoever, '' If someone with buffs from other classes challenges you it's best to not accept. '' its all in the challengee's decision if they want to spar somebody with other classes buffs, not anybody else.
@errbody else(more random gibberish you dont have to read)
Being ganked always boils blood, but i still firmly believe that if you remember its just a game, and your in a pvp zone, its gonna happen no matter who you are or what kin/tribe your in. Both sides have work to do when it comes to organization and raids and understanding if you WANT to group, pick somebody to be the raid leader and shut up follow his/her instructions/target and dont ask questions or if there is no more room in that raid YOU START UP A NEW ONE AND LEAD IT YOURSELF! Grouping up is a step forward but a 24 person raid is completely useless unless you have somebody calling out targets and having the other 23 people actually following target.
~enable target assist
~enable audio so you can hear who's next to die
--you dont have to talk, preferred you dont actually.
and since the update QUESTS GIVE YOU INFAMY/REKNOWN!!! usually more than you get from sitting alone inbetween 30 other creeps/freeps ungrouped getting one or two or 14 infamy every half hour. PVE is extremely important if you want to successfully learn your map, learn your skills, and earn the respect of being play to win instead of pay to win. Plus its alot more fun to hear, "(bad word) its (so n so) again...we are gonna die!!"
I hear the above phrase repeatedly everytime viduo zidia, biological, diremaw, aces(not nemore), toa, jacbo, erlilda, sno, etc come out. Those people took the time to learn their class and omg hold your hat, work together and thats why they are successful pvpers. If others took the time and stepped up to the plate to lead/follow instructions in a group/raid, there would be alot more fun and challenging fights instead of sitting outside ec, turtling in ta, ganking in HH, or that annoying person who would rather be solo and macro in ooc on who to kill compared to just lead a raid and be more organized...macroing makes others have to either find you and look at your target or tab your keyboard until they find the person your calling out...IDK maybe just shooting blank bullets and unreal ideas but its worth a shot in saying it again.
good job and grats to those who have ranked up by being good players..froobs/croobs..go get and learn your pams and stop rolling your face on the keyboard..kthnxbai

First of all I read the random gibberish because it's actually readable. Anyway, it's also a lot of fun to hear OMG it's (insert name) everyone come and get the free infamy!
Also, facerolling is a required tactic for hunters and reavers. Face hits keyboard and when you look up the target is dead. The map situation (assuming pams = maps) is a lot better now though, because freavers are required to get maps if they want to rank due to the inf quests.

i have a hunter and a reaver :P and face rolling is NOT required for either class unless there is panic mode or you just dont know what the hell your doing. It's hilarious though..im still waiting to be tracked on my warg even with 283947234 hunters right in front of me. i think the only person thats actually tracked me was atador lol:P
and yes pams was suppose to be maps..mah baaaaddd...and dont you dare mention quests out there because freeps dont understand that 80% of the quests give infamy/reknown...[video coming soon]...just sayin..i got 7k infamy turning in quests while the creeps were feeding the free people :O how dare they!! but its coo...(yess coo).
mmmmlookin forward to playing later..idk why...maybe to be told to go back to arkie > which is hilurious...
Oh and for those of you who dont care, i still need groups to run pvmp quests to get stones, badges, etc for the creeps who might participate in the Yule Festival Costume Contest im holding. Donations are welcome and wont be used on self. Same with freep side. I already got my banner soo yeaa

Of course it's not, but the image of slamming your face on a keyboard and stuff dying because of it has always been one of my favorites.

Honestly I dont think what turbein put was bad, I think some of the comments addressing it were kinda harsh as well. Honestly there is nothing anybody can do to prevent ganking on CM. If I see someone gank then im gonna kill them. I don't 1v1 all the time but I do enjoy them because it helps me learn my class and strats against creeps. I dont want to see that opportunity wasted by a couple of idiots ganking people. So if you see it, just Pm that creep telling them to stop and please dont give them a helping hand. But I think the issue should be put to rest for now.
cool, smellywarg is KoS since he already knows rules, either or, DO NOT ATTACK ON THIS MOUNTAIN UNLESS BOTH PLAYERS BOW, YOU CAN NOT INTERFER, HEALING FROM Another play helping kill unless mentioned and agreed to a 1+ v 1+. ONLY can get buffs from urself and crafted, cappy buffs really arent fair, nor is lm SI unless u are the class you shouldnt have either. DP, delving, and all store stuff are legal, just frowned against. brands are legal, id rather say dont use it, ive seen cat use probably 4 stun pots in a quick use, suprisingly everything u can get is legal.

These are rules concocted by people who are interested in farming, not fighting.

Actually, mostly it's the store stuff that isn't liked bcuz it usually means people are P2W and not everyone can get them usually in regular playing, whereas delving pots, scrolls, tokens, and other things you can get by playing, not paying (although some ppl still do not like them).

What I wrote on the previous pages should be copy write....#### was epic...and idk how everybody else read that (if you even did) because I myself only skimmed through it LOL
Doesnt exist anymore, preferably at least, this isnt in update it's actually a rez, i'd suggest find another spot, starting this week, and make sure people start understanding.
"Long, Thick and Sharp, From the shadows, I'll stick you from behind, deep and bloody, Mmmm the joy of pleasure..."
^^ Kinda hard to get to the plains OP fast though... Right?
Old plains OP isn't that hard to get to. Lug rez, river OP, "coldfells" OP (aka SOP maybe now aka HOP), and DG are pretty close. You can use the new Delving shortcuts to get to ROP, SOP, and DG.
There's a tradeoff between easy to get to and how likely it is to be in the way of normal PvP. CM was nice because no one would go up on CM unless there were 1v1s going on.
Other options that are remote:
-Former location of AE OP, east of Good Lug, northwest of Poison the Hoardale.
-Former location of SOP, south of Good Grim
If you want an area that is central but not too much in the way, then the former location of Elf Camp / Crossroads might work.
I expect the central areas between HH, Lug, TA, Grothum, TR, LC to be most active after the update
The only down here is biased during a fight, at least lotro biased, OP Owned, If 1v1's are going on, I think it's benficial that you get everyone agree to having the same amount of Outposts, or find which side is a little bit more OP compared the others, and allow them to have 1 more then the other or 2 depending on which is outbalanced.
Sounds good to me, still dont know if ill 1v1 in RoR since it's really lob sided and our Dps on li's didnt change it's same as RoR but your morale increased and dps >.< so i'm bluntly confused how we burn through it lol, it's slightly possibly just a heck a lot harder lmao especially for morale stakers

Personally I think CM is done and gone (let it die).. while I have no problem allowing 1v1 when I can tell that's what it is, (not the "I was obviously 1v1 on ta lawn why did you attack!"). It's going to be pretty ridiculous to expect everyone on the server to leave the OP and Castles even so people can 1v1.

^That will be a problem......
It's sad to think that the old days of 1v1's and soloing are gone haha (for the most part).... Things have changed a lot in the last two years.
Probably during the big fights, yes. But we might still have some when it's mostly dead if we just coordinate so that each side has even ammount of OPs/ maybe only inf buffs, ect, we might be able to still have some. (Personally I think the former loc of plains OP is still the best spot)
