I take it this is a suggestion to have a LOTRO profile there?
At least they don't enforce the real names to be displayed any longer on g+, not that it slows down the personalized advertising any. It's almost a relationship made in heaven--one ring to rule them all, one gmail account to log in to it all. Social networking is like the one ring and its control over its user. People find that when their favorite app is taken away from them, they are driven insane until they are a mere broken husk, beyond the reach of the most arcane of arts.
Until service is restored. Look at what happened to Gollum--he was briefly his old self before he dropped his phone in the toliet after finally finding it. I may be mixing up my lore. Nearly everyone that was involved in the marketing of the product and enjoyed a lifestyle designed around full use of it of the product and its apps were laid to waste after it was destroyed for good. As if a million voices cried out, all at once. I think that's what the kindly old wizard said.
(Or just search Lotro on G+, or shortly, +lotro in a regular google search.)

Google+ never did require real names like Facebook does, their policy was "common names", despite the media hype.
They also have spoken about plans for aliases and the like in the future (but it seems currently you could use one of the new "pages"), à la mine for one of my characters.
