Re: 20 seconds to make Clump of Peat from Rich Soil - Great Joke!!!
It's all part of their move to make farming "faster". I do not think of it as a joke, more as an reference to one of the classic lines from The Princess Bride...

HAHAHA, thanks for making me remember this movie.
I'm sure this is what you were referring to...
Re: 20 seconds to make Clump of Peat from Rich Soil - Great Joke!!!
Scholar in general needs some speed adjustments. After leveling my Explorer to 75, I was used to the very quick mining from the teal toolset. Then I hop on my scholar (also teal toolset) and find my first nice scholar node................. almost done.............. and............... NOW he got it! woot! 1 scroll in that container!
Then the farmer is slow as well as the crafting of the crit piece.
I think we could afford -induction on the "mining" just like the other professions get as well as tweaking the speeds mentioned in this thread.

Yeah, this is seriously broken. I'm one of the few who don't mind the change in crop yields, but the time it takes to make peat is stupid, especially compared to the zero seconds it takes to buy Rivendell/Lorien soil for t1-6. Even if using peat guaranteed westfold herbs in the crops, the return on your processing time is still minimal.

I wasn't farming early on and must have missed those threads
For my part its seems weird. Essentially, like most things in this release, they nerfed it and then gave you an "update" to get back to where we used to be. I'm fine with standard farms yielding less. Then we have crit standard farms. Then we have special farms that cost a lot more that are supposed to be like a critted version and then those SPECIAL farms can also crit. My disappointment came from spending an eternity to craft 100 Clumps of peat and spending roughly a gold to buy 100 SPECIAL seeds for the special fields so every field was the expensive special one AND a crit version.... and I was still getting fields with 2 - 4 crops and nothing else on occasion.
I honestly can't tell the difference between the standard expensive fields and the crit normal fields... which means I'm gonna just save myself the time of messing with Peat and just make the standard expensive fields for roughly the same payout. I don't see a strong difference or reason to worry about critting the expensive fields.
Doesn't seem right IMHO (in terms of balance and sense).

While the update is half unexpected (whenever Turbine decides to shutdown servers for maintenance, a minor update with some ninja changes were kind of to be expected every time), seems this annoyance is probably being ignored or the joke is still on
