I guess one of the older Draigoch strat threads got bumped off the front page, so I figured it'd be easier to just make a new thread.
This is a diagram I spent some time whipping up for my Kin to help leaders better understand how to maneuver around to get from Claw to Claw, as well as help the Tank Teams understand how to get where they need to go quickly. In the interest of getting more people into the fight faster if they so wish it and they hate all the running around blindly, I decided to get this out to those that want to use it. Since much of the time in this fight is taken up moving your feet and doing little else, and moving wrong can make it take incredibly longer, hopefully this'll make the raid a little more enjoyable and approachable to people who are looking for fun!
If you don't want to use the diagram and wanna figure it out yourself... well, don't. Spoiler is in the title for a reason!
A little sidenote, the angle of this is supposed to represent what it should look like on your minimap if you tilt the below diagram to a completely overhead view. The "true north" is not actually where the N is, but represents the closest cardinal direction that platform is nearest to for sake of ease.
Enjoy, and good luck on Draigoch! Epic loots to be had.

Thank you. It is amazing and will be of great help.
Having absolutely no sense of direction I feel seriously challenged if I have to go up and down the slope on my own. Even got fried once on the top level just because I couldnt find my way down and had to watch the rest of the fight from the balcony >.<
As the leader of my dps group and raid, I can tell you that this is a very good diagram and I <3 you. Now my kin members can stop laughing at me when I take them the wrong way and waste 20 seconds
Couldn't agree more, great work! Very useful for those who haven't got the mental picture quite sorted yet
As to the directions... I call out numbers on the clockface, rather than N/E/S/W when directing ppl in my raids. So tank group goes to 8 o' clock when in phase 1&2 he's down on the floor, to get ready for the head reappearing, and those in the middle will exit at 10 o' clock so they're right at the ramp that leads up to the front claws - I prefer to work from the top down. Maybe that will help others to make it ever so slightly easier to spot, who knows?

We used to use clockfacings to organize people for the Blind One setup back when that was actually a difficult fight. Can't believe I never thought of it. I can imagine it'd be very helpful to some folks!
Primarily the reason I went for NSEW was because there are only four platforms, and if you can simplify one's understanding to just those four positions and that each position has ramps associated with them, rather than keeping track of where each ramp was, you'll grip the fight a little better.
But hey, by all means, if it makes it easier for you, go for it.
I could've used different colours for different positions, but that would've been silly to have all kinds of colours up there when Draigoch simply stands completely vertically. If his Head is at N, then his Fronts will be N, and his Rears will be N. I took some time to illustrate this with the multiple Ns and Es and etc. for each floor. For clarity, Draigoch will never be on an angle where his Head is at S and his Fronts are at E or something stupid like that. It's always a straight line.
Despite not thinking of it, I could've colour-coded them, but in the end he's only ever vertical anyway, and when in doubt, refer to the Ws and Es and such to find where he'd be. If there's enough demand I suppose I could, but I don't really see why.. Just takes a tiny bit of brain power to get the gist of it.

One thing. You say that he always defaults to W (where the treasure chest is) when he gets off the floor. Last night we had problems with inexperienced tank losing aggro at the start of phase 2. I have never tried tanking him yet, I mostly went on my minstrel or on champion as dps.
*If* it happens that I find myself in tanking role (or have to assist/lead the raid), can I count on him going W in phase 2?
Yes. After getting up from a body-dps session, Draigoch always returns to the west platform. The tanking difficulty in phase 2 revolves around recognizing his "tell". His right paw on the platform, head to your left. Left paw on a treasure chest/pile, head to your right.

We use minstrel standing on the opposite side to call out which way he goes so that should not be a problem. Apparently that tank had a problem with aggro at the start of the phase 2, just after he got up after the last CJ, so we got caving in.
I was wondering if that happened because he didnt know where to go.
I suppose I could add some National Bacon. Er, I mean, Canadian Bacon for all you non-Canadians. They could be little triangles that represent which direction you should run to get off the gold floor, and where each of his four legs are in the final phase.
Ramps that go from the Third Floor to the First Floor. Quickly. In one run. If you notice going from First to Third on the Single Ramps will take way too long, as you not only go up, over and THEN up again, but you lose position and have to reverse your course to get to where you wanna go, and it ends up taking too long and if you don't know your way around, can confuse you. Quick Ramps eliminate almost all of this.
It should be pretty obvious.

we ran 3 t2's of it last week just fine. last night the sob bugged twice in a row with under 3 mill left. man is that frustrating to all of a sudden have an abrupt end like that with no chance of a fix. someone said on the forums that if someone dies or crashes to reset. so we did. and it still bugged out after a clean run. we had someone on a second run die, get an incombat rez, and when he took it they put him at the top of the instance. he didnt move one inch from the door after that and again, bugged draigoch 2 million hitpoints later. absolutely maddening that i have yet to see a forum mod or dev post regarding the issue, other than to just close the threads.
good diagram though

Not relevant post is not relevant.
This thread is not for talking about bugs in the fight. Thanks.
okay let me try again- nice diagram thread. now can someone diagram how to get the devs to put draigoch under the known issue thread for isen patch?
thx

This thread is not about reporting bugs. Please hang up your phone and try again.
If you want to talk about bugs, that's what the New Thread button is for. Or, y'know, the Report Bug feature.
It is not my problem, any of this thread's business, nor what players click on this thread for, if you feel Turbine does not utilize its resources as much as it can to receive player feedback. Don't go dragging your (yes, and mine too, trust me, we've felt it too) frustrations about Draigoch bugs here just so you can have a soapbox in a popular thread. There are threads for that I'm sure, and if there aren't, that's what the New Thread button is for.
more so that a dev or mod will eventually acknowledge that it is a known issue (being that as of yesterday it was still not on known issue list).
good diagram!
