    Artisan proficiency (Jewelcrafting)?

So I finished out Artisan basic, and have Master -- but as far I can tell, to get Artisan proficiency, the quest originates with an NPC named Gaddi, who is the the Thorin's Hall reputation guild hall. My hobbit didn't level in that part of the world and does not have status. Is this the only place to start that quest? That's what the lore book seems to be telling me.

You left out some important information - like Artisan proficiency IN WHAT?

I don't think you need ANY status to get into any area of Thorin's Hall - you may not be able to interact with the NPC's, like the guild masters, until certain prerequisites are met though.

This link has a map of the NPC located on it.

Jeweler -- my bad. Thorin's Hall, yeah you can get in too -- but there is a section you can't get in without standing, as there is for all factions.

Correct. You are referring to the Blue Stone Garrison work benches in Thorin's Hall. There is only one quest giver. He is right near the locked door. The quests are level restricted. What level is your jeweler?

Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Level 32, I believe. Have these quests become level restricted -- or have they always been? I only restarted playing quite recently. I remember these quests were effectively level restricted because they sent you to ever higher level zones, but that problem was not insurmountable, and I got around it more than once.

Are you looking to advance your Crafting, or advance your Reputation with Thorin's Hall?

If you're Artisan (Tier 4) then you've already done the only quest required in Crafting to move on, which was access to the Superior Forge.

The dwarves in the Blue Stone Garrison will give you quests to craft items that will increase Reputation, but these quests are not necessary to continue in your Craft.

Well, according to the lorebook, the superior workbench quest was at 25, which I must have done, because I have that. However, having finished Artisan, the proficiency bar has not opened, and according to the lorebook, the person I need to start Call of Precious Things IV (named Gaddi) is inside Blue Stone Garrison, the dwarf rep hall. I'm trying to see if there is another option. Some outdated wikki posts have that quest starting in Esteldin Craft Hall, but not anymore it seems.

    Ah! Okay...

That quest was taken out of the game. The only quest you need to do in Crafting now is the Superior Facility quest, which, as you say, you've done.

When you're saying the 'proficiency bar' I believe what you mean is the Mastery Bar - that is the little symbol next to it is yellow? So you've filled in the brown symbol and the yellow one didn't open?

I'm going to guess this is what you mean, in which case my question is this: Did you fill in the yellow bar for the first 3 tiers? Until you do that, the 4th one won't open.

The Mastery for any tier will only open when the previous tier is full - so you have to finish Apprentice Mastery before Journeyman Mastery will open, and so on.

I hope this is your real issue, and this helps you!

And this is what happens when you leave the game for months at a time. Yep, you nailed it. I had forgotten that detail. Should have dug a little deeper before posting. But removing those quests will ease leveling up crafting on multiple toons. Thanks much!
