-If youre referring to improved essay of fire, take it up with turbine. I have to trait 5 into fire line (which significantly changes my 1 v ? survivability if im jumped on my way to the fight), spend legacy points on a specific legacy (which I probably would anyway, MF CD is a must for a fire stone), and am limited to casting that 1x/minute. There is a 3 + page debate about this on the monster play forums. Take your complaints there and save the name calling for recess tomorrow at school
-Its as much an exploit as a r4 warg with shadow howler, or r2 defilers with shield wall and blight pools, or r6 BAs with VT and fire traps etc... (you get the drift). It is a nice improvement for the fire line that came with with RoI. Just wait 'till I get the helm from that dragon and the reduced cooldown on essay of fire (6 piece set bonus) that comes with it (which intentionally increases how many times that can happen)!! So how is this an exploit exactly? And honestly, its an effective counter to the brigade of FoTM BAs and their pocket healers (a la incurable fire dots?) that have mysteriously made up the overwhelming majority of the creep population in the moors since the last patch (refer to the opening portion of this paragraph for reminder of how this goes)....which has made getting close enough to fight (for light armour classes) impossible.
Have fun and cya out there! Ill be the dorf clapping my hands at ya!
./drama and derail on
How is a BA and a defiler any different to your rk/cappy combo pre-roi?
So your not fotm class anymore, big whoop.
And why would you compare the lotro store to a skill that is not wai?
Is it not fair that creeps can now use all of their skills upon starting their creep, than spend 2 weeks getting farmed by geared freeps who know how to use a potato masher on their keyboard?
But I suppose getting 35 attacks from one skill in 5 seconds is perfectly WAI?
It's honestly as much as an abuse as burgs who use addle whilst it's on cooldown. Although difference being a burg that does that makes a minor contribution to his burst output when using it with a macro (MM burgs are rare and pointless).
As far as fire-traited bird-flapping rk's and MM burgs go, I believe i heard someone on elendilmir talking of how kelsan told him to report any runekeepers or burgs seen abusing said features.
I've never used, or played a class which requires me to justify being able to abuse an exploited or non-wai feature as much as I want, so maybe i'm missing something here. I am starting to play a burg, but I'm fairly certain i could be good without needing to trait yellows or use a macro to spam my one skill which is on cd. Others may think differently when it comes to classes like that. *shrug*

Me too, people need to forget their OH&S risk assessment training for this video game, tear up the assessment sheets they use for every little thing in the moors, just forget about it and have fun.

LOL You said "have fun"! Now we're gonna see posts about how trying for a high rating (read: hiding to avoid deaths in a PvP area) *is* fun.
Well IMO, in all probability (not that I've tried), the same can be said for running around in a shopping mall wearing nothing but a sock to cover... unmentionables, drunkenly shouting out the lyrics to Queen's We Are the Champions. And yet, how many of you would do it, hmmm?

Geez how'd you find out about me? A guy has 1 bottle of Laphroaig for Halloween and the the news made it all the way back to GA?
Haven't played out in the 'moors long enough to have any Nemesis per-se, but I do get the most satisfaction from killing Wargs (as they always seem to single me out for their pounces) and dropping a Reaver during his sprint thing. I probably hate BA's the most as it's basically a Hunter, with +5k morale, Heavy Armour and a stupid skill that seemingly allows them to evade EVERYTHING and least until I die... How long does that skill last anyways?

30 seconds, its called moving target. The reaver sprint thing is called charge, has an 8 second duration but when they use the skill there is around a second pause where you can mez them before they charge.

As tree said...moving target...aka...hunter's bane. 30 seconds where you need to run or hide or line of sight or mellee us. BAs (when played effectively) are complete terrors now. Get used to it, because there's only going to be more while we're slightly OP haha. But we don't actually have heavy armour. I have a loincloth and shoulder spikes...the only armour i get is my armour passives, up to like rank 8? Haven't had to buy one in years, so i don't even know.

I kinda wish that for one month, Turbine would lose the wartab. Make it non-viewable. Hide it. Don't show it.
No stars, no ratings, no ratios, no stats of any kind. You run around in the moors for the pure enjoyment of lighting people on fire, shooting them with arrows, blasting them with lightning, sinking your teeth into their throat or stabbing them in the head with pointy objects.
Some people are just naturally more cautious than others and would play differently than others, but I would guess that with no stats to worry about there would be some sort of change in the overall action.
Maybe nothing would change, though. Maybe everyone would play the exact same way they do now.

If nothing else it would be interesting, I think.
Yup. Most people out there are there for the title, and don't really give a #### for PvP. Which is why lugs rez farming happens so much. It's pitiful.
In some ways I wish rank/rating/wartab never existed at all. Some people would say, "Well then why bother playing in the moors?". These are the ones that shouldn't be out there in the first place.
Higher rank does not mean higher skill level. All it means is that they spend more time in the moors.

You should of seen the Lug rez camp last night! Lets see, my nemesis is the champion! or the defiler!

Retired - Thanks for the fun and the fights
Lately my big nemesis's* are mostly any warg that pounces me. Sometimes I get lucky and win but I usually lose. But by golly if some of them havent been the closest most fun fights in a long time. Lost to mirkwoodfails rank 4 or 5 but I beat a rank 9 and got 144 renown. cant remember names as there are a million different wargs daily. Any high ranked reaver will charge me and kill me before I can find a skill to click. I wont be 1v1 ing BA's or Reavers until I get 15k morale.

BAs are only really OP against hunters, and a half-decent BA in Skirmisher Stance shouldn't need to pop MT to kill a hunter. Against the melee classes, MT is unfortunately a must, and even then there's hardly any guarantee of a win. As for mini's and RKs, I personally don't stand a chance against many of them. So all this nonsense I'm hearing about BAs getting too much love with RoI? Bwahahaha!
And yeah, like Tree said, MT's got a 30 second duration.

BA's got some very much needed love. Had they been at least acceptable pre-Isen, there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints because the jump wouldn't have been as blatant. But at the moment, people are still remember the r9 ba's they could kill in their under geared alts and are now looking at the ones critting them 2 or 3 times in a row for 1.5k, which, although it seems like little compared to some of our 2-3k crits (non dev), is still a lot considering the massive morale difference. Like, I'm running 6k with 92% tact offense atm. It's awesome in most settings, but I'll be owned in a 1v1 vs a decent ba any day. Once again, not that that's a problem, but it's just different. People will have to adjust, myself included.

I think 8-9k morale for light/medium armour classes has become somewhat of a necessity, at least for 1 v x situations. Although, revenge will still 1 shot you if it crits with less than 11-12k max morale...

BAs crit for 4k at max, and that's generally higher ranked ones (read: Ryu) I don't believe I've ever hit harder than 3k

Considering the amount of CC (particularly the number of stuns and mezzes etc.) you LMs can pull off, Ciro, and the mind-blowing lightning strike thing I've only seen post-RoI, a decent LM can hold their own against a decent BA. Tacticals are, at least as far as I've seen, a BA's biggest challenge because the only escape skill we have is useless against them. Not that I'm complaining, the light armor makes up for it, so it's all good and fun

9k is definitely a reasonable figure, but considering all the bubble(s?) and self-heals mini's and RKs have, they can still take you all the way. And I've had many peeps of said classes get away with 200 morale or so simply because Revenge didn't dish out the 1.9k it's rated at!
Granted, my combat log doesn't keep track of damage done, crits etc., so maybe I should shut up now? XD

Oh, I'm not complaining Shap. LM dps got insane with RoI while our survivability took a hefty (but necessary) hit. But bear in mind, everything I do is induction based. It's funny, but BA's can just run in a tight circle around me and all I can do is staff skills and LotrD. I think you and Ryu are the only ones thus far to kill me 1v1 (even with Wind Lore up!), but I haven't been out as much solo as I probably should so haven't had much of a chance to test things. We will see!

Oh, LMs have inductions? :/ Yeah I've never played LM or cappy, so I don't know that much about either class. And I don't think I've beaten you 1v1, mate. You pwning me in HH is the only time I can recall solo'ing you XD

I don't recall, doesn't sound like something I'd do :O
And just for the record, I got roflstomped by Leet about 15 minutes ago with a champ on her as well, which was almost completely negated with MT.
Leeterofcola scored a critical hit with Revenge on Cirone for 2,753 Fire damage to Morale.
^I have to get used to that. I didn't hit Wisdom because she only had like, 500 left and I was at about 2.5k. You'd think I'd learn, lol

if you want an old-school gem, should check out the narrative post that ketchup posted a couple years ago(think it was a couple years lol) :-) That was an epic pvp night of madness.

But I'm just so bored with this game!
U6 won't even fix the issue. Besides, I am plain and simply losing interest in video games altogether.
