Thread: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Warden bugfixes would be excellent in a lottery. Or maybe some useful Warden legacies. Or maybe some better mitigations. The list goes on and on. Anything that gives my Warden more of a fighting chance at being as survivable as an equally geared Guard / Champ / Cap would be an excellent Lotto "item".

I'd like to suggest: Scrolls of Lesser and Greater Deed Acceleration. For non-VIP's, completing Deeds can be an important part of the game if one is trying to earn most of the quest packs through in-game TP collection. Obviously, paying for a scroll of deed acceleration makes little sense to someone who cares about building up the points that are gained from completing deeds. However, it would definitely be a desirable item if one could gain it freely, such as in the lottery.

A lot of these were already mentioned, but here's what I'd most like to see.

Housing items from obsolete raids (Lt's doormat, Nanu's hiding place, Durin's Bane music, Disease Wing Trees).
Raid gear barter tokens from obsolete raids (Rift, Watcher, DN, BG, OD).
Scrolls of Greater Empowerment.
Superior 4th Marks.
Sigils.
Scrolls of Greater Delving.
Relic Removal scrolls.
Deed acceleration scrolls.
Task Reset scrolls.
Relics.
Item XP Runes.
Mounts.
Reputation barter items.
Crafting acceleration scrolls.

I would like Return to X skills. Just like the stores/rep ones.

I would like to be able to shoot for a return to Hobbiton on my Human, or a Return to Rivendell on my Hobbit. Not maps, but skills.

Oh and TOTALLY Nanu' hiding place, I've killed the Turtle untold times and never seen it drop.

How about one humungous SuperDraw Lottery? You know, some kind of really totally outrageous thing. Didn't we miss the anniversary of going F2P? Um, something completely AWESOME. Gandalf's blue pointy hat!!! Er, let me see... I'm having to think on my feet here, er, sitting down.

Something meaningful to any player, whatever level. TPs would do, obviously; but it's not very imaginative. I'm trying to think...

I suppose it could be a one-of-kind cosmetic item perhaps. Or just in-game coinage (I got 600 Silver yesterday - that was pretty neat).

Still, I feel there's something else...

Keep it restricted to out of date raids (say, nothing higher the Moria/Lorien sets right now), but give enough token/barter items to get a full set of gear from the instance/raid. Some of these old sets are very sought after cosmetics wise, could make great levelling gear for mid level players and could actually drum up a little interest in the old raids as the players wearing them would essentially be walking billboards for the content.

This is a spectacular idea - two thumbs up!

It would also be nice to see some PvMP related items in a lottery for a change. Maybe something along the lines of:
10x Chieftain Brooches
10x Tyrants Crests
2x Brilliant Spirit Stones

1. Exclusive items that cannot and will not show up on the store days or weeks later bought by points.

2. Offer more entire account items that any character you currently have, or make in the future (regardless of server), can access and use.

3. Occasionally offer truly unique and incredibly rare that would require collecting pieces of over a extended time period and lottery winnings.

4. Offer a forum poll once per month where users could vote on 1 item on a list they'd like on the next month's lottery. Whatever item gets the grand total number of votes, gets added.

You said that you can't give for example TP, but if you make a deed where we have to collect something rare and a big stack, and in the lottery you put those elements we receibe the TP.

Ex:

Collect 1000 rare skirmish treasure found in a Raid each year in a deed, and you put those elements in a lottery. When we receibe that you give us 1000 TP, perfect.

I'd like to see Lotro Store exclusives in the lotto like cosmetics outfits or mounts.

How about the items for crafting 1st and 2nd age 75 items. Alot of the population that plays Lotro do not have large groups of people to run 12/24 man raids to get a chance to get one. I think if you put them in the lotto then you would improve the chance of getting one. Make it a 75 only lotto.

in my opnion rare itens that it is impossible or near of impossible get on game.

It would be nice if there would be a "Special Lottery" with the chance for a "Rename your Character Scroll" (I don't know the exact English store-name, since I'm using the German client...)

It should be really defined as "special", and it should be clearly stated that the scroll will be bound on character.
I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who'd like to rename a upgrown char, but wouldn't spend 995TP for it

I dont know if they would ever do that because for one not alot of people want to change there name so there would be hardly anyone that would enter so,,, I could see maybe "special" scrolls for like raising your stats permantly like Might and Vitality and such and not like 10 pionts Im talking 50 + or so now that would be a VERY "Special" scroll and something everyone would enter on,, now dont make it to common maybe once every 3 to 6 months that would be cool IMO of course

When you say a lottery is available for a certain class or a certain level, it should be available for those of the appropriate class or level.

I would propose prizes for creeps like DoF stones, potions, perks...

For both Creepside & Freepside: DoF Stones.
For Freepside/PVE: Chieftain Brooches, Tyrant's Crests, Lv 65/75 2nd or 1st Ages, Symbol of Celebrimbor, Worn Symbol of Celebrimbor, Symbol of the Elder King, 20 Sealed/Fused Relics tier 4+ (but Bound to Account), Medallions of the North Men, Medallions of Dol Guldur, Medallions of Lothlorien, Eglain Tokens, Medallions of Moria & you can never go wrong with TP.

I would put regions into the lottery that are normally locked out for free or premium players.

Sadly, as Sapience keeps saying, they are not able to put account level stuff in there(such as quest packs, expansion packs, etc.). However, they could always give you TP(since they did just do that in a recent lotto) and then you could buy one yourself.

A big stack of Steel Keys would be nice.

One of the lotteries for level 75 toons has the cracked sigils in it.
Silver awards are scaled for level. My lower level toons received 200silver and my higher level received 500silver.

I think it is neat that the lottery is back. And receiving the lottery gifts in the mail is a real highlight. For those who are complaining about what you get, well I guess you don't have to enter any drawings if you don't like the rewards.

Well for starters i'd make sure people get there winnings, i won 'big bam boom' and my winnings did not come through.

Well I think to many folks just want to have the whole game given away for free. Sorry to break the news to all you that want this game for free no money in no game nothing in life is free Nothing. When u get a gift you say Thank You where I come from, not ask why I did not get more or something I wanted. I have won lots of cool stuff including the Fleet-footed Goat.

The lotto is a fun thing and u get what u get and say thank you if you had any kind of up bringing. One day U all will get the point that the term free to play is not the truth and it not the way the game is played its free to try nothing more and for once in your greedy lives just say thanks when u get a gift and smile after all it was a gift. Nothing in life is Free Nothing !!

I play the lotto every time one comes up and I have been happy to get what ever it was. I get in my game and play not spend my time wining about things I should have got for free.

In real life can't u play the lotto for free, but folks play every day and pay to do so. Here u can enter for free and just complain about what u don't get.

For all u folks that think that real money stuff should be in the lotto fine too maybe they should have a pay to play lotto too just like real life like a 100 points a entry there u go a $ and a dream. Then when u spend real money time and time again and u get nothing u can feel just like the people in the real world.

I would like skirmish marks and barter items you can only get from raids.

Ideas for fun lotteries:

• Festival consumables (from festivals not currently active)
• Boss-drop housing items (fx Unwelcome Mat from OD, Thaurlach's Blade from Rift, Draigoch's Fireplace, etc.)
• Keys to Lootboxes (might help a bit on all the grieving about lootboxes)
• Inactive titles no longer obtainable (fx Student of the Past, Revealer of the Lost, Chicken Chaser, Fool, etc.)
• GM assigned titles (Eye-sore, Fashionable, Unfashionable, Fathomer of Riddles, etc.)
• Old festival steeds that are no longer obtainable from vendors (fx 2009 yule steed)

Less feasible suggestions:

• Chicken play helper (pouch of grain for x seconds' immunity as chicken)
• Finish-a-deed scroll (use scroll to finish a deed of your choice).
• Title scroll (create your own title for your character)
• Makover scroll (change the looks of your character, not just the hair etc. as at barber)

Lotteries for Crafters

Superior tools of the (Craftname)
Crafting mats like a stack of leather for tailor
Craft acceleration scrolls
Shards
Rhi Helvarch Symbols
Mithril flakes

Several lotteries each designed to benefit a specific craft. My Tailor would jump for joy at winning tools, ruby shards and pristine leather!

Fun ideas, but personally I think that drop items and titles should be earned, not acquired randomly.

• Upgrade to VIP for 1 month for F2P players
• Extended game-time for 1 month for VIP players
• Trait/inventory/bag/guild unlocks for premium players.
• Ettenmoor creep skins for VIP players
• A random (not already obtained) Quest-pack, for premium/F2P players.
• A random (not already obtained) skirmish, for premium/FP2 players.
• 500 Turbine points for VIP members

All in all, put a little something of value into the lottery and make the word of mouth spread throughout the Internet.
