Thread: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I realize it was a bug when my (at the time) lvl 44 RK won Lotto of the Stalwart a few days ago, but being able to use the fused relics for my brand new LIs was AMAZING. Winning anything is fun, but Adventurer never seems to cover LIs so whenever my toon falls into the 45-50 range, it feels like they've outgrown their prizes. I'd love to see some lotteries for those just delving into Moria and the LI system.


Other general Lottery items::

-Dye: Cosmetically fun and always disappearing in the AH

-Rep items: You can buy rep bonuses in the store and items at skirmish camps, imho its not a big jump to ask for them in a lottery. Even if the winner is kindered with a faction, items can be used by friends, kinmates, alts, or sold in the AH.

-Titles: Not old titles or ones formerly obtainable by various deeds, but Lottery specific. I realize every entry lowers my chance of winning, that doesn't stop me from expounding on the lotteries every time someone asks about my Steed of the Guardian, cool cosmetic cloak, or fireworks. I enjoy it and I want to see other people enjoying it too.

All in all, put a little something of value into the lottery and make the word of mouth spread throughout the Internet.

Nearly all of that is account-level stuff, which the lottery cannot give us. It can only give us "items" that exist in the game or store, some of which can be traded with other characters on your account. And it can't do creep skins because there aren't mailboxes in the Ettenmoors.

Among all of the other items others have already mentioned, it's a small request but I would love to see a stack of T2-T5 Flax (Tailor crit optional). Not sure how many others would be interested, though.

Good one. They seem to have a much lower drop rate than whetstone, rock salt, etc.

Cracked Sigils for sure. I hate being 75 and unable to craft myself anything. All I do now is mine Skarn. And nooo I'm not wastng precious medallions/seals on them

Lotto mounts are bound to character as far as I know.

I would like to see a skirmish refund scroll in the lottery. Dont know if thats the correct name of the item but ykwim.

Personally, I think what is on offer in the current lotteries are pretty much awesome already, however maybe the important lotteries containing cracked sigils, worn symbols and mounts should occur more often throughout the week and not just during the weekends, IMO. There are other tidbits that can be added to the lottery more often as well, such as store-only emotes. Anyway I hope we see some more lottery goodies soon. Cheers everyone.

- New receips for crafting (Things for the Houses, to cook or clothes)
- legendary Items (symbol of celebrimbor etc.)
- Points for der Lotro-Shop

I like the lottery, and hope that I will win once something special. ;-)

Mounts that are Bind on Account rather than Bind on Acquire.

I have toons that have won multiple mounts of the same name from different lotteries.

Let a mount auto slot on the toon that wins it like it does toady. But if it can't be slotted because I already have it on that toon, then it would be nice to transfer it to another toon on that account.

And all mounts should slot as skills even if you can't use them because you don't have the riding skill yet. Most of the ones from the expansions do this so we know it can be done to any mount we put into our packs.

For various technical reasons Sapience has said they cannot give anything in the lotto that is account based(classes, shared storage, character slots, etc). It would be nice but they would likely have to do it another way than the lotto.

This solution is simple, do not enter a lotto for a horse on a char that already won it, hardly any of the lottos have something other than just the horse in it so you are not losing out on much by not entering that lotto. Sure it would be nice to have them be account bound instead of character bound but it is not necessary. Others would like to win the steeds as well, I never understand the people who complain about winning the steed twice in the lotto, how hard is it to scroll down and uncheck that char from future lottos, seriously.

I would agree with this if it wasn't because I usually join the lotteries from my phone and I simply can't remember which characters have which horses. I don't complain when I win double, but it does seem like a bit of a waste.

Ideally, it shouldn't be possible to win a horse you already have on specific characters. That way others who join will have a greater chance to win the horses they don't already have. But I suspect that might not be possible at present with the lottery setup.

That makes sense. I just have a hard time fathoming it since between my 7 chars who have entered every mount lotto(and about half of the flash ones) this month I have managed to win a grand total of 1 mount(and technically that was in a lotto before mount month) so I do not find it hard to keep track of who has a mount or not. I suppose if you had bought some of the mounts off the store or you were one of those people who get ridiculously lucky and win lots of lottos then I suppose it could be a problem remembering whether toon A has steed 1 or steed 2, etc. Oh well, Here is to wishing I could have this 'Problem' of not knowing who has what steed .

Some mounted emotes might be nice, since it is still Mount Month, plus since the dont cost as much as the mounts themselves, they can afford to hand more out in lottos (hopeful)?

Love seeing a lootbox key in the current lotteries. Is there any possiblity that every 5 or six or even every ten lotteries this becomes a regular part of the loot. I understand a balance has to be maintained as far as numbers of keys floating about but if the keys were available on every fifth or so lottery it shouldn't throw the numbers off very much and i am sure would have the lotteries more popular than ever Just my thoughts

I know it's not available until next week and it's beyond brand new, but it would be very nice to see a set of special lottos at some point for the summon skirmish soldier token with lottos for the corresponding level ranges.

I'd love to see the Lancer's Halberk in lootboxes (L70 at least.)... and the Lottery!

Reputation items, rare mounts, skirmish soldier time, TP, and travel skills.

A Burglar only mount, that could run while stealthed
A special Soldier, only available through lottery that would play like a Warden or RuneKeeper

I just want to refocus this as it seems the original intent has been lost.

What can be added is only what exists. So we can't create new items, only add items that exist in game. Though if there is enough support for lottery exclusive items we'd certainly consider it.

We also can't add most account level items. For example awarding an expansion pack, or an account wide mount, or shared storage, extra character slots, etc.

More or less anything in the LOTRO Store can be added (with the exceptions above) as well as any items that drop in game as long as they are not quest items (collect X items and turn them in to advance the quest).

Do I remember seeing a drop or something which, when used from inventory, gave 100tp? How about that?

Tbh, what I'd really like, is an item like the above to be available from the turbine store - it would be a great prize that we could have for kinship lotteries for the f2p crowd... or anyone, for that matter.

Gold Anduin tokens, Spider eggs, and Isengard sigils please. It would save me a few daily runs.

What exist is my level 75 showing up for a long time now as level 60. So What I would like to see is for my level 75 to be able the enter a level appropriate lottery..

Also, a quest pack lottery would be amazing. Have different lotteries based on the lvl, ex. 30 gets Evendim, 40 gets a choice between entering the Angmar or Forochel lottery, etc.

How about some of those widgets from the 'Lost Fellowship' line of quests in Forochel?

It was terrible fun starting a mob pull with a mez (Weak Blasting Powder) on my Guard, and then feigning death (Acting Lessons) to let our champ deal with all the aggro. Then I could stealth out of there to avoid the consequences!
