I think a unique title for getting x amount of lotteries on a char would be neat. Lucky Duck is already taken...so....maybe...High Roller? I dunno, something.

A nerf bat for sparring that randomly explodes into a big cloud of confetti!
Oh yeah, things that exist in game now.... (although *hint-hint* for a festival item, yeah )
-Cracked sigils
-Worn symbols
-PvMP barter crests and brooches
-The mini turtle from the Turtle Raid
-A shrubbery! One that looks nice, and not too expensive
-Deed and rep accelerators
-Another shrubbery! Only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a with a little path running down the middle
-Teal pocket items
-Anniversary robe/gown cosmetic
-Scrolls or tokens to unlock more vault space
I think superior 4th marks or maybe some old hard to get items (jewelled bell anyone?) would be a couple of good ideas. Otherwise cosmetics, morale/power pots, tokens or other popular consumables are all good choices in my opinion.
I prefer win things that I need than win things that I want because i'm the unic person in the server that have it.
And if you win you don't loose the desire to win:
Then there should not be mounts in the lottery(and lots of other things), then you loose the desire to win because you're already won the mount.
Not a great argument, lets just agree to disagree. The question Sapience posed was if you were lottery master what would you put in, i would like a horse emote pack. Others would like grindy items (me included).
Winning things I need makes the game easier, winning things I want makes the game more fun.
There also can be many lottery winners, I would not like to be the only winner of horse emotes for example.
"Impossible? No. But now you're talking priorities and what do we cut to add that? Infinite time and infinite resources we can do anything. In the real world, one thing has to make way for another."

If it were up to me I would put in Mounts, elder king symbols, legendary weapons or the crafting stuff for them for level 75 and that they give you one for your class. Cosmetic items that you can only find in the lotro store. Of course if at all possible turbine points.
I have seen other people mention it before; rewards based on f2p vs premium vs VIP.
Anyway as VIP I would like to win
* Mounts
* Music Instruments (washboard, kettle drums, cymbils, banjo, violin (insturments that are not ingame))
* Slayer Deeds Excellerators
* Reputation Excellerators
* Crafting Skill Excellerators
* any fluff/cosmestic item
I would not like to see non-character bound items. That character won the prize, why would I give it away? Same goes for crafting items. When used during crafting, the crafted item is bound to the crafter.
Oh and for special lottery for Kinships:
Winning Kinship get their own neighbourhood named after them (or pick the name) and they can select a number of members who will receive a housing in that neighbourhood.
I recently received an upper tier stat tome from the lottery. Personally, I would prefer to receive a tier 1 stat tome from the lottery, since it is much more likely to be usable instead of sold off. As is, I have to sell the stat tome since I would have to acquire 4 other stat tomes to use it (additionally, on my server, 2 other people are trying to sell the exam same tier V vitality stat tome on the AH).

I am not complaining, it is just a suggestion.
Yeah, My brother won that same thing and he is storing it in his bank until he can use it on one of his characters. Personally I wonder if there is a way for this to work better. Unless it is too straining on the system or something I do not see why they could not check the winners of the lottery and send them whatever tier is necessary so that no one who wins is forced to hold onto or sell an item they cannot use. If that is not possible in the normal type of lottery than do not offer stat tomes in them or if you do make the lottery gated by that stat tome and have something trivial with it or it by itself that way only people who can use it can get it.
Just my thoughts on the matter, hopefully turbine can do something like this because I hate to see people just use the Lottery item to make money because they cannot use it easily.
Freeps:Taredhelion(63,Guard) ; Turmanarmo(32,RK) ; Rawlings(22,Burg) ; Drengi(29,Champ) ; More that will be leveled later
Creeps: None of note ... yet.
The LOTRO Lotteries are almost here. As we continue to test the system and prepare for the return of regularly scheduled lotteries, we have one simple question:
If you were the lottery master, what would you put in the lottery?
It's a simple question and the sky's the limit. Mostly. There is one limit that even the lottery master can't get around. We cannot put account level items into the lottery. So things like shared storage, character slots, quest packs, etc. aren't possible, but most other things are!
Let's hear what you think should be in the LOTRO Lotteries!
Anything and everything that is only possible or reasonably possible to get if you are in a hardcore kin and/or anything that is only possible or reasonably possible to get through the store.
Turbine points, RoI Legendary Code, and exclusive steeds are always good. I don't seem to win the lottery nearly as much as I used to though. Kinda bummed about that.
DON'T FEED THE TROLLS! LET THEM STARVE! (Or feed them Saruman!)

Or maybe a bound tome that will upgrade the specific tier +1
A quest token enabling an account to add an EXTRA storage chest to their house or better yet their bank.
It's something that is needed and would make having to settle for a house that I pay more in rent for than its initial cost much more palatable. Seriously... who thought having to pay 55+ silver a week in rent for a house that already cost a gold+ to purchase was a good idea? Heck, even irl taxes and home maintenance don't add up to that kind of percentage.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?
Some great suggestions here. Yesterday we added about 250 new items to the lottery based on the feedback here.
A couple of things worth mentioning.....
If it doesn't exist in the game or LOTRO Store it cannot be added to the lottery (though the idea of lottery exclusive items is interesting).
If it is account level (Character slots, quest packs, account storage, classes, etc) it cannot be added to the lottery.
We add items regularly, but we do not add items new to the game for several weeks or more. So most of the Isengard rewards are not part of the lottery....yet.
The lottery does not contain the entire game database and probably never will.
It's supposed to be fun and entertaining, not an alternate means of acquiring rare or hard to find items.

Whatever your intent, people (myself included) will treat the lotteries as both entertainment and as a way to acquire rare or hard to find items.
When all is said and done, we can't ignore the simple fact that the lotteries are another way to keep players in that skinner box... to provide that "other little incentive" to keep us coming back. To keep us subscribing, to keep us visiting the Turbine Store.
And I'm OK with that... as long as Turbine provides a bauble that is shiny enough to make me WANT to come back.
So yeah, lotteries aren't meant to be a way to acquire rare or hard to find items - but it sure can't hurt Turbines bottom line if players use it that way.

The ability to check what items a lottery will award, AFTER I enter to win. Oh... I don't think that's what you meant by "in" the lottery. But definitely in the lottery system.... please? As it is now, if I forget what lotteries I entered, I don't have any way to see what the potential prizes are. I also can see which of my characters won a lottery, and what it was called, but not what they were supposed to win.
ANYWAY.
I don't group up a lot due to my time zone not matching that of most of my kinmates. Thus... any of the group-achievable-only crafting items (symbol of celebrimbor, etc) would be the best prize I could win.
After that, a half-stack of every level of iron (or precious metal, or hide, or you name it) would be my dream prize. (so, half stack of tin, half stack of barrow iron, half stack of dwarf-iron, etc). Well, a whole stack really, but I think that's a bit excessive.
I'm also dying to win the white skelly horse and the cool new horse emotes, so thanks for adding those
Finally, I think the idea of lotteries based on subscription level is very smart. And LOL, Jarnos's scroll of undoing.

Fair enough. I simply meant players probably shouldn't use the lotteries as their primary method of obtaining those shiny bits. It's sort of like playing the lottery in real life and thinking of it as a viable retirement plan.
Of course, you could always retire on fireworks!

I'd like to see the old Amarthiel barter items and maybe some housing stuff like the doormat from the Lt. of Dol Guldur. It drops so rarely its nice to have extra opportunity.
Yes, yes, we all want / need the grindy items, Sigils, Emp Scrolls, Sup 4th Marks etc etc
I want to win something unique in the lottery, something that no other player has...
Three emotes that appear in the /help that would be really cool: mountbow
mountkick
mountrear
You see reared mounts in various promotional screen shots and it's there in the command list, I assume you can make a Item:Grant_Mount_Rear_Emote as well!!! ( Sky's the limit, we'll see *crosses fingers* )
And they made them...
My main servers are Withywindle and Imladris.
Happily playing with 36 Elves, Hobbits, Women, one Dwarf and One Orc since November 20th 2010.
- Wider variety of housing and cosmetic items
- PvMP stones, crests, brooches, tokens of valour
- Medallions of Moria, Northmen, DG. From small amount (Moria - 3 at least) to large amount.
- Skirmish marks - both plain, Superior, campaign
- reputation items, for Esteldin, Rivendell
- shards, sigils, symbols
- more emotes
A lot of items are not too hard to get but just grindy - would make lottery more fun to have them in.
Many are already been prizes but still.
For fun I would love music boxes, like the ones you got at Bilbo's birthday. Also any sort of fireworks.
For the higher level toons. Does not have included every time but at least one a month would be great.
1) Sigils for crafting or even some T7 crafting packs. (Not sure what you call these in the store)
2) Symbol for crafting the lvl 75 2nd age LIs
3) Special Mounts - Not the meta deeds ones but the store and festival only ones would be a real nice addition.
finally
3) A lvl 75 1st age weapon for the winning class.
How you do that I do not know but that would be a really cool lotto item.

A quick note about legendary items themselves. We can put them in, but they'd be unidentified blanks the same as if you had crafted or found them in game. We can't actually put in a really tricked out item because of how the LI system itself works.

But if it were a first age 65 or a second age 75... =D

When you give away LI style IXP runes and the 'major' components to craft the 2A/1A (mithril/sigil /symbol of the elder king/worn symbol/symbol) (75/65).. It provides the winner with more options; Even if they dont have a crafter they can generally find someone if they've got the materials and it lets them pick the kind of item they want!
Please continue to give away LIs in this method rather than simply adding a bunch of un IDed blanks
