Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Nothing fancy, I'd just like to see level-appropriate Pot sets (Morale, Power, and the various Cures). That would make for a nice set once in a while.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

    Goat
    Title - "Winner"

Level 50 legendary traits - seeing as 50 is no longer end game and it is such a waste of leveling effort to get the skirmish marks required and there aren't enough on level toons to make a fellowship meaningful and the AH cost of items needed is prohibitive and......
(please don't just give out the items needed unless they are bound or they will be sold on AH)

Please do *NOT* give out rare/expensive items unless they are bound (can't be sold in AH) or lots of gold as this will mess with the in-game economy. As much as I would like to be a middle-earth millionaire the sudden injection of unearned cash will push prices up unnecessarily.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

When people complained about the drop rate of anniversary tokens and the grindy nature of the beer fight to get them, Turbine's response was something along the lines of well we can't make in-game changes to fix this in a quick enough time so they used the lottery to compensate, and started rewarding massive amounts of anniversary tokens through lotteries. I thought it was a really good use of the system; fix an in game issue with an out of game system that didn't require patching the game.

imo they should do the same here with scrolls of delving. It's a big omission from the existing game itemisation which, given Turbine's past form is likely to take a month or more to fix up. And it's not that they don't actually exist in game, you *can* make them for an insane 6000+ shards, so the lottery wouldn't be making up an entirely new item. So as an interim fix, help the community out and show some goodwil for making this mistake by spreading around some scrolls of delving!

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I'm all for cosmetics, consumables (food, tokens, ...), fun items (fireworks!) and the like that has already been mentioned in this thread several times. In addition I'd love a chance to win a small amount of crafting resources for my crafters, depending on their crafting level rather than their player level. The high-grade tier 7 resources that need reputation-gated recipies to create (like the high-grade leather and wood) would be especially welcome, and just enough of them to make an item or two would be fine . A resource pack with enough ingots/boards/whatever to create a set of guild symbols at their current crafting level would be nice, too (and my weaponsmith historian would appreciate that especially since my other crafters never send him enough ingots to get around ).

Lotteries are complete new thing to me, proud European.
    Have heard about them.

It should not be anything that has with PayToWin to do.
Put in anything as long as creep characters also the same chance to win anything.
How you are going to distribute wins to creeps I have no idea how you're going to do that, your headache, not mine.
If you can't, skip lotteries as they would be totally unfair then.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I would go for themed costume sets.

The lottery-master could pick out some matching clothing, give it a Tolkien-inspired name. Would be great to see the designs that the store team and devs come up with; a mixture of existing and new clothing, perhaps?

Added benefit - this one's easy to run contests for as well; can get people on the forums, twitter, wherever coming up with the best combinations of clothing for the fashion concious hobbit.

Put me down for something elegant in crushed black velvet please. I may be a fop, but I'm worth it...

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

    My Favorites:
    For low levels(welcome wagon):
    -Riding skill
-a regular mount (possibly a slip we could turn in at the farm to choose a free mount)
    -small amounts of silver
-maybe a milestone skill(if that is feasible) or travel unlock token(preferably a longer one like 1 week or 1 month)
    -pots/food

    For middle-low levels (free people):
-Storage upgrades(if possible, regular bank, not shared)
    -Deed accelerators
    -cosmetic items
    -small amount of silver
    -pots/food
    -another milestone skill/travel unlock token
-skirm marks (some of the tokens from the different skirms/instances available in the level range)
-maybe some tp so we could work towards those early quest packs(not huge amounts though)

    For middle-upper levels (adventurer):
    -more storage upgrades
-LI stuffs such as store exclusive scrolls
    -some silver
    -store exclusive mount
    -cosmetics
    -pots/food
-skirm marks (some of the tokens from the different skirms/instances available in the level range)
    -more TP
    -housing items

For Upper levels (endgame peeps, don’t know what this one is called):
-any LI items especially the store exclusive kind
    -cosmetics
    -pots/food
    -skirm/raid marks
    -housing stuff
    -store exclusive mounts
    -some silver
-something fun just for the endgamers

    For fun lotteries:
    -fireworks
    -emotes
-silly titles (saw earlier ‘the winner’ which would be awesome)
    -silly looking cosmetics
-some of those festival items (fire breathing potions, saphrons lipstick, etc)

    Crafting lotteries:
-Tier specific mats(not enough to level up the tier, just enough to make some stuff)
-guild access(would be its own separate lottery)
    -crit items
    -one timer recipes
    -craft tools
    -guild rep accelerator scroll

    pvmp lotteries:
-stuff for both sides that benefits pvmp players(maybe make creep stuff received by their freep in mail and then when used applies to creep or find another means of sending it to the creeps)
    -destiny points

sorry for how long this is, I was inspired. I agree with previous posts though, try not to make it stuff that will imbalance the game so no huge amounts of cash or tp and no super powerful items (i even shied away from stat boosts because it seemed too unfair).
    Freeps:Taredhelion(63,Guard) ; Turmanarmo(32,RK) ; Rawlings(22,Burg) ; Drengi(29,Champ) ; More that will be leveled later
Creeps: None of note ... yet.

Since the stuff arrives in mail I don't think there's ever been a creep lottery. There's not much to give the creeps anyway. (No horses, no cosmetics, no equipment, …)

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Reading about the suggestions of cosmetic sets, I'd recommend something like this:

Set of the Sneaky: something that looks like the burglar OD set
Set of the wise: something like the loremaster barad guldur set
Set of the sturdy: Guardian rift set

All of course cosmetic clothing, and not actual items

Winning such a set would be really cool as some people do not have the time or do not want to spend the effort to get a character up to get a certain set to then put in the wardrobe.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

My thought's for low level below 50 same as currently used. Ensure bringing in of rep mounts or something aswelll for the upto lvl 50 area.

For 65 area Stacks of 5 Scrolls of empowerment/delving, Symbol of cele, Relec Packs upto tier 6, possibly mounts from endwaith/21st/Mirkwood. DG Coins maybe the OD Coins, stacks of 5 Flakes, and Superior 3rd Marks

For 65 - 75 users: New Relic's, Possibly class Legacy for a legendary your choice @ tier 6 for Major and Minor if this is possible. Sigil's Superior 4th Mars in stack Size TBD where large amounts are required. Scrolls of Greater Empowerment (Stack size 5 you can make this Bind to account or make it open to resale in game. either are good choices.

add in a large scale lotto for 51-75 for High item xp runes/Unique Mounts if any would be made avail.

Maybe a Large Scale lottry for Points for all levels. and Unique houseing Houseing if availing. If possible run like 2-3 times a week or once a week between all the others.

    1: Flying Mounts
2: Floorboards to prevent random falls
    3: Race change scroll
4: Secret hidden quests in RoI to get to lvl 75 without doing ANYTHING else.
5: Scroll of undoing to negate a nerf from your class and keep everything as it was before RoI but a little better if possible.

Just kidding.. Just want to make a list of the stuff people complain/ask about all the time.

Since i'm on a former EU server and lots are new, anything is fine by me.
I won 10 green fireworks in the first, and had some fun setting a few of.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

    Asking for clarification here.

When people say they want "mounts" in the lottery, they don't mean rep mounts, do they? Has Turbine ever handed out rep mounts in the lottery before?

One of my favorite aspects of the game is earning kindred with various factions in order to buy their mounts. The journey to kindred in this game is already SO much easier than I've experienced in other MMO's. It would really be a shame if this achievement was trivialized by an influx of un-earned reputation mounts.

    That's my opinion, anyway.

I think they probably mean the store exclusive mounts(steed of minas ithil, steed of night, etc), at least that is what I meant, I agree that getting kindred should be something you have to work at so the rewards are worth it.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I would liek for old festival recipes no longer appearing in newer vesrion sof festivals to be obtainable thry lotteries.

EG. There were food and flower arrangemnets recipes earnable in spring festival, but this sprint they werent added, there was chance to get some from random gift boxes, though. Seems fine candidate for lottery prize.

Same from horses from past seasonal festivals. If one wasnt around when they were obtainable, then no luck getting one nowadays.

Fireworks, drinks galore, make so that if one fails to get horse, he still gets some fireworks as a consolidation prise

Store-exclusive scrolls of relic removal etc. Stat tomes? Of course if thats not too much to be asked?

Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!

Most of this has probably been said but....

A code of some sort for a Stat Tome in the LOTRO store (That way whoever gets it will receive the correct stat tome depending on how many they have already purchased).

Mounts! Not necessarily the 168% speed mounts, but at least the 250 health ones.

Turbine Point Acorn things like last time.

Greater Empowerment Scrolls, T7 relics, Worn Symbols of Eldar King/Celebrimbor, Greater Scrolls of Delving, and Shards. Maybe even relic removal scrolls.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I get to make a wish for a lottery and sapience is eventually going to read it. *twitches* *shakes*

Okay. The Stuff with horses and points and whatever is very nice, but i would like cosmetic items for my character. With a twist.

Collecting the new dunland clothing is difficult as i try to keep many cosmetic items as possible to outfit my characters. But the dunland quest rewards are all bound to my character so bank space will run out soon.

I would like a lottery from time to time that has dunland clothing (or generally nice clothing) that is bound to the account, not the character (cosmetic versions)? I know that these do not exist as cosmetic versions right now, but as the models already exist it probably wouldn´t be much hassle.

This could be open to characters from level 66 so as not to spoil the toil of designing isengard.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Those things we all need, but are typically really grindy:

Worn Symbols, shards, Scrolls of Empowerment, legendary title scrolls (maybe even a unique combo, like setting the weapon to light damage + orcs or something cool like that)

Top tier food and pots never go to waste either.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Instead of the paltry copper and silver money amount it would be a MINIMUM of 1 gold no matter the level of the character entered in the lottery :-)

    Mounts (the store exclusive ones)

    Worn symbols of celebrimbor

    greater scrolls of empowerment

    greater scrolls of delving

    stat tomes

fun off the wall cosmetic items (like the Nerf Bat in Beta testing)

tokens(s) good for purchasing extra storage for Vault, Shared Storage, Wardrobe

    cosmetic outfit slots

    extra LI slots

    etc etc etc

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

I think the best is to put:

    - Revival Tomes

    - Legendary Weapons

    - In-game gold

    - Expansions or quests packs

    - Turbine Points

    - Lifetime Accounts

    - Houses

    - Char Slots

    - Advanced Char Slots

    - 25 % plus xp

    - AH slots

    ......

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Turbine points and store-exclusive mounts are my big WANTS from the lottery, but winning is half the fun, no matter what's in them. XD

Level-appropriate potions and food, skirmish marks (oh please keep doing skirmish mark lottos), all that stuff would be cool too.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

    1. Exclusive Mounts (Specifically the new Hunter mount!)
    2. Cosmetic clothes
    3. Turbine Points
    4. Keep the Skirm points!
    5. Gift boxes. (With random valuable things)
    6. LIs or armor.

I also agree with the above post by Arcnad, those ideas are great!

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Also i think we need superior forth marks for RoI thinks and Repu Items not only to use us, for sell in the AH and make us of gold. But the marks are better. If you do put my name to the lottery (The Ark's lottery) sounds good xD
P.D. Remember all my old recomendations.
See you in-game, and thanks Turbine.

Re: What would you put in the LOTRO Lottery?

Yes, yes, we all want / need the grindy items, Sigils, Emp Scrolls, Sup 4th Marks etc etc

I want to win something unique in the lottery, something that no other player has...

Three emotes that appear in the /help that would be really cool:
    mountbow
    mountkick
    mountrear

You see reared mounts in various promotional screen shots and it's there in the command list, I assume you can make a Item:Grant_Mount_Rear_Emote as well!!! ( Sky's the limit, we'll see *crosses fingers* )

"Impossible? No. But now you're talking priorities and what do we cut to add that? Infinite time and infinite resources we can do anything. In the real world, one thing has to make way for another."
