Thread: Any Tier 7 crafted Axes?

I have been looking for a level 70 Great Axe since RoI released, either build or drop. I have yet to see one my Champ could use. DO receipes exist for great axes?

The only T7 great axes I can find are all legendaries. I can't find any mob drop, quest reward or reputation bartered great axes in the level 66 - 75 range.

Yes the recipes seem very limited. As a woodworker, I got the basic lvl 66 hammer and crossbow, I have all ministrel level 70 instruments, a warden first carving and another thing. We are a group of 7 and that's all the recipes I've received so far.

I understand that not many weapons are needed, espescially no two handed ones.
And really, who would use them? All players have their legendaries at that level already, why would anyone use a non legendary weapon if not as offhand weapon?

Because they can. Some people are feeling burned out on LI's, especially people with multiple toons that all use LI's. I have five toons at various levels that all use LI's and I don't pay much attention to legecies or relics until each toon gets close to the level cap. Since I switch weapons (and class items) every 5-6 levels, trying to get just the right legacies and relics every time is very tedious, so I just change to new weapons when the dps rating starts falling behind the content and stick with low level relics that will be easily replaced. Get a basic damage scroll from Dolven View and I'm done with it all for the next 5-6 levels. My general approach to LI's at level cap is one class LI per toon, one soloing LI weapon and one grouping LI weapon, but I can understand someone using a non-LI weapon for soloing, it would cut down the grind of levelling multiple LI's quite a bit.

I did pick up a level 73 non-LI great axe as random mob-drop loot about 2 days ago. I was in the Gap of Rohan area and it was a landscape Dunlanding that dropped it. I was already using a level 72 LI great axe on that toon so I vendored the dropped axe. I don't remember all the stats, it was common damage and the dps was a bit lower than the LI axe I was using. I don't remember seeing any other great axes drop in Dunland, just that one. A lorebook search doesn't show anything like that axe but I'm sure I wasn't mistaken because I did equip it and try it out on another lansdcape dunlanding to see if it was any good, and I was definately using a two-hand axe for that fight.

Pre Cap, I often will just use non-legendary weapons and use the LI-Slots to farm for Relics. Also I have found non-LI two handed weapons have much better bonus than LI items.
