There seems to be a skill activation pause, long enough for an Auto attack to occur, after I use a Coda. I am wondering if others are noticing this as well. Is there a way to remove this pause or minimize it?
It seems to me that this is correct. Almost as if there were an extra long pause between casting an induction after using the coda. It is irritating having to wait extra time to heal or pull a dmg spell.
The delay is simply horrid and blows the fluidity that the mini used to have, but hey, I will keep the skill and work around it. Rather have the skill and the delay over no skill at all.

you shouldnt have to!
Either the Devs tell us its meant to be there or they fix it
'I love Fridays!'
'Beer Monster was already gone...'
It's intended. Every skill has several different timers associated with it. You have an induction time (which may be 0), an animation time, and then (I forget the actual terminology for it) an 'activation' time. The animation time is frequently shorter than the activation time so that the character movements don't look silly. This means that your character appears to be finished, damage or healing may have already registered on the target, and you appear to be doing nothing because the game mechanics say that the skill has an extra 0.5 seconds of time to complete.

So aside from the coda, would this also be the case for- which is it, perfect ballad? The one that does the slight heal and boosts outgoing healing. Because that strum takes ages, and clearly much longer than the other ballads of which it is in the same family of.
On a side note, minstrels are so groovy. I made a second one! That either makes me epic-minded, or darned silly!
Appreciated -- I'm just very protective of the utility you've built in for Codas being resisted makes them reset themselves. Let's make sure that stays, please.
I definitely noticed that right away.
It really didn't occur to me to use SoS after that, good idea guys!
But up until now, i've just been being careful to make the coda be the last skill I use against any mob.
The "finishing blow", so to speak.
I figured it was intentional with the Coda being a finisher.
And yes the fact that a failed Coda wont remove your Ballads and Anthems is a really nice feature. Please do keep that.
There is a slight hitch there, I am looking at it, I have no other information right now. No time frame for a potential change, fix or alteration.
Thank you Orion, much appreciated. Initially I thought it was lag, however that hitch/delay between skills has been driving me loopy.

Long pauses where your character stands around like a lemon have been a hunters bane for years. Glad it's going to be looked at on the minstrel, it just doesn't feel 'right' when it happens.

If I may...forget the Coda delay. It is a big skill and I kind of see it as being appropriate. PLEASE, focus your attention on the Major Ballad animation outside of War-Speech. It is so unbelievably horrible. Why does the Healing Ballad have so long a delay as to make it dangerous to use when you're healing? IMHO prioritize that...
As for the thread, using SoS makes the delay slightly less. I'd recommend using CotC for even better effect but it isn't always up (this is a good idea purely to get back your Ballad Buffs, or for the lulz of back-to-back Codas of Fury).
