Thread: As JEWELERS (or tinkers), are you guys getting the Mervach Sigils (the new flakes)?

I've seen many people saying that getting the sigils from nodes is easy, etc... I've mined ~300 ores, many skarn deposits and got none so far. I've talked to some jewelers and they said they've got none, also, or just a few (like 1-2).

I'm having this awkward impression that tinkers are bugged on that matter.

I have not seen any. Some kin members have - all the ones they found are in the high level areas of Isengard. I am beginning to think that not all nodes are created equal.

I only have a jeweler in the new content, and I have mined some ore, but not near as much as 300! I got a sigil very early, probably release day and haven't seen any since. But again, I haven't been mining very much ore at all.

I've mined just over 300 ore and got 4 of the new flake equivalents. I know friends who had that on the first day and I know some people who only have 1 so usual random distribution.

I'm not sure we should be complaining I don't remember having any mithril flakes within the first week of Moria coming out

Didn't found any in scholar-nodes myself but the prospecters in my kin seem to have quite a few of them. Mostly in the 70+ area's though i think.

This seems to bemore of Ye Ol' Crafting and RNG "bad luck" then bad distribution of resources. As poster above me already stated, Mithril-flakes from tier 6 ore are MUCH rarer. Can't speak for when MoM was just released as i didn't played back then, but the "abundance" of nodes, their respawnrate and crit-drops might be just a bit higher now with the expac just being released and a big rush is going through the new content and they'll adjust that to "Moria standard" at a later update/hotfix when the rush is pretty much over.

I found about 7-8 of them, noticeably more often in rich nodes.

I havent found any myself and mined plenty of nodes at least 150+, im near the end of the epic quest line and am in the 70+ zone. Kin mates have gotten them so I know they are out there. Mitril flakes were available to purchase at skirm camps in moria anyone confirm we can purchase these sigils there? (I havent been to a skirm camp since isen dropped, dont know whats new there)

Given that Skirmishes came with SoM, and thus wasn't available when Moria was new, they might very well hold off on adding them to Skirmish vendors to make them a bit more rare now in the beginning.

I've seen them drop from all 3 node types (wood, ore, scholar). It carries the same feast or famine luck I've seen with flakes. I got 3 in an hour and then mined over 1,000 nodes without getting one.

That’s fine if its rare, I thought the mithril flake cost in skirm marks was pretty low. If they are going to be for sale at the camps Im hoping they are more expensive. Havent looked at the AH yet for pricing on these sigil’s, be interesting to see what they are selling for.

We had a lot of Rare Elites that dropped Flakes in Moria/Lothlorien and I haven't seen one Rare Elite in Isen. I understand that they need to be rare but without mobs dropping them they are beyond rare for me at least...

Taking my first toon to 75, which is my tinker, I gathered ore all along the way and ended up with 7 of them. My woodworker has 3 of them at level 70, and my scholar is getting the shaft with zero at level 69.

And the reason they got rid of the rare elites is because every gathering profession has a chance to gather them now, not just prospectors. They also drop from scholar and wood nodes now.

I've probably gotten 12-15 now. I know four of them were from a small number of scholar nodes and the rest came from ore nodes. I haven't seen a propensity to come from rich skarn nodes.

all of them from regular nodes.

I've seen other postings that suggest a 1% drop rate on nodes.

Personally I've collected around 7 to 10 (I don't have an exact count, sorry) between scholar and ore nodes, and location hasn't seemed to be a factor for me.

Out of 10 full stacks of low quality Ore I walked away with 15 Mervach Sigils. So, 1-6 low quality Ore per Node harvested with an average of 2 per Node, that would be 15 Sigils for 500 Nodes harvested, or 3% on the button.

The funny thing is 10 of the 15 I got in a row on the first 10 Nodes I harvested!

I leveled from 65-75 mining every ore node and got 3. 2 on the first day (within the first 2 hours) and 1 since then... I gathered enough ore to master prospector and weaponsmith.

I've gotten 2. I from my rk tinker in an ore node, and the other on my burg explorer from a wood pile.

I got 4 in the course of mastering westfold prospecting, all from regular skarn nodes. No complaints on the droprate- seems to be similar to flakes.

I've harvested approx. 450 Skarn ore across all RoI areas and have collected 7 'flakes'.

TBH I think it really is just down to luck with the one added point that obviously the 'Rich' ore deposits have a much higher %. I'd say of the 7 I've collected 4/5 have came from the rich deposits, getting to the stage now I only sidetrack myself for a rich deposit lol

I've harvested between 4000 and 5000 ore, and maybe 800 wood, and have gotten about 25 Sigils. That's roughly 2500 nodes, so about a 1% drop chance. Which is what the other gatherers in my Kin have been seeing.

Just casual leveling and harvesting nodes every now and then turned up 16, which I just threw in Shared storage... I guess Ican sell them, but never really found a reason to sell stuff(maybe the pack rat in me) but nottin in game really needs in game money IMO..cept for housing maint....and repairs....

During my first day in Dunland, I found 10 of the sigils in about 3h of Mining. After that, I have found a grand total of 1 over the next 3 weeks. I don't mind grinding for them for some time but there has to be one for every 3h of mining at least. The ore is now widely spread across my kinship as it won't sell any good in the AH but a couple of more sigils would have been nice to have.
