Thread: The Adventures of Floid and Dewit: An Easter Egg Deed

Here's a cute little easter egg of a deed: the "where's Waldo" of Middle-earth.

Find two happy-go-lucky adventurers, Floid and Dewit, in 7 different regions of the known world, and win The Wanderer as your title.

Cute title for a cute deed. Thanks, Devs! (I'll just bet you guys have been waiting impatiently for this to show up on the forums too!)

I managed to find them in 6 locations. Basically all except Dunland.

Has anyone found them in Dunland yet?

I have a rough location from someone elses deed text.. I've also spotted them in moria.


Moria-Just north of Jarguznd (the hub north of 21st)
Dunland-..should be somewhere around 'the pristine glade'

If anyone has the whereabouts of these guys in each place and they don't want to post could you PM me with the locs?

yeah i am also interested by some precise hints for the mirkwood one, i can't find him around dol guldur, too many paths to access

Aye, I'd appreciate a PM as well. After finding him in Enedwaith and Moria, I've had no luck elsewhere. Any pointers would be appreciated!

I would also appreciate a PM. Found them so far in Moria, Dunland, Ened and Lone Lands

Also, wandering Middle Earth looking for this pair.

Not having any luck in Mirkwood, Lonelands or Evendim...

Some folks have completed it. I saw someone in game last night with this title and was wondering how they got it.

I just noticed under this particular forums name it says Beware of Spoilers..so Im going to go ahead and post the locations I've found so far.

**Spoilers** (Just in case)

Sorry for no coordinates as Im not currently in-game, will update when I can:

Lone-Lands: On Weathertop at the south facing edge
Dunland: As soon as you enter the cave where the Pristine Glade is, hug the wall to the left, there is a vine hiding a short hallway that leads to them
Moria: From the Jazargund stable head north until you reach a cliff, theyre on the right
Lothlorien: On the path from Mekhem-Bizru to Echad Andestel, the first waterfall you come to, they will be on the opposite side of the river
Enedwaith: From the entrance of Draigochs Lair hug the wall and head towards the giant area, theyll be hiding behind a rock near the first stone threshold
Evendim: Near the entrance to the blue ladys cave, on a remote island
Mirkwood: In the Ashenslades, 17.5s, 46.1W standing on a ledge

Same boat, been over good deal of Evendim looking for him (maybe hes in Guardian area, as hes not where I thought he might be).

Any chance they are visiting the Blue Lady?

In Evendim, they are on that island near Tyl Ruinen that has nothing else on it. No reason to ever go there unless for a break while swimming to see the blue lady!

I KNEW they were on Weathertop somewhere! But I missed them apparently.

Have found these guys everywhere except Mirkwood.

Just cannot find them there. Someone told me they are near Helethir but I looked all over and couldn't spot them.

Anyone remember where they are at in Mirkwood?

I googled Floid Dewit, and the only thing I could find is a sculptor, Floyd Dewitt, who is known for his depictions of horses.

If this is the bases for this deed, then the reward for the deed should have been a mount or a housing item (a sculpture of Floid and DeWit?)

Found him in Moria and it started deed, but didn't update it. Went to Weathertop and it still didn't update. On 0/7

This happened to me at first as well. Were you in a raid fellowship at the time? Because that was my problem. When I left the raid-group while standing beside them, my deed updated.

Where exactly is this?
Because when I come to the first waterfall, there is just a steep cliff on the other side and no ground to stand on - and no Floid and Dewit

Go south until you find the 2 waterfalls fallling into the river (one falling west->east as part of river, second coming from north into river), the deed npcs are on top of the cliff to the east of the north->river warerfall. You can see the north->river waterfall in the map (about 14S, 75W)

Just seeing them won't do it...once you get close enough, a message appears on screen. Also, as another person said, be sure you're not in a raid (I'm not sure if it will work in a fellowship).

One other thing - because the deed is associated with Dunland, I imagine you had to have at least purchased the RoI quest pack.

This dosen't seem to be the case. I just completed it without the expansion and its listed under Class/Race/Epic.

A bit off topic, but near thier location in Moria is a cliff. If you experience the lighting bug while there and accidently fall off that cliff, you get a message across the middle of the screen that says something like: "You've fallen to your ruin in Moria". You keep falling and then die of misadventure when you hit bottom. Since that's the first time I've seen that message and I've died to misadventure MANY times in there, is that the start of another deed or something?

I think that's the part that makes it a true Easter Egg. Just who is this Floid and Dewit that they can do the impossible that even an Istari couldn't do? They may not be as they seem!

Although a better question to ask, which one is Dewit?

You haven't been looking around on that island. There is another easter egg on that island. A miniature of that easter egg can be found in the Mathom house. That's all I'm going to say.

I noticed the other Easter Egg today when I found F&D, but didn't remember seeing it in the Mathom House. You've got a good memory.

After reading the 'other' Easter egg post I just has to take a trip to Evindim and have a look and see what it could be! found it and then wondered where it was In the Mathom House? Well as far as I can see there isn't any likewise objects to be found in the Mathom House at all ! So Id be interested to learn what it is I'm supposed to be looking for if its not the 'Castle' !!
