I started this quest yesterday, but had to go deal with some RL issues. At the start they had given me a "Reminder Of Captivity" to return to the depths if I needed to, so I decided to log out in a town rather than underground in Isengard. When I returned, I used the Reminder to return to the depths of Isengard. The quest I have requires me to kill 3 uruks in the Ring of Isengard. I am assuming that means going to the surface, yet I cannot do that. I have watched countless people come and go through the surface door, but I cannot. I seem to be perpetually stuck in limbo in the depths of Isengard either because of a bug or because of my own stupidity, I dont know which. I also cannot cancel the quest to get it again (I was ported to the rings originally, didnt have to use the surface door). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because I want to move forward on my book quest, but as of right now, I cant. If I am just stupid and missing something obvious, please tell me, I wont take it personally.....LOL. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out.
Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
I did something similar now I'm stuck. I just finished Chpt 20 and actually got a level in after doing it. Wasn't thinking and ported out real quick thinking that reminder of captivity item would bring me back like it says it would. I logged for an hour for some RL things. Came back on and used the item. I was right back at the forges in Isengard Depths. Shackles gone out of my inventory and nothing in my quest log to even remotely clue me in on where I was and what I was going to be doing. I ran all over the depths, circled outside a few times and couldn't find any quest rings on my mini map, nothing. Reported it and its not a known issues and was asked to do an official bug report. Now it's the waiting game.
Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
Well, at least Im not the only one. But I wish they would recognize it as a bug so I could continue with my book. Your situation was a touch different than mine only in the fact that my shackles did not disappear. I still have them, but where they take me, same place as yours, is completely useless to me at this time. Oh well, back to levelling I guess....if they ever decide to fix it I will be able to run through it that much faster now...LOL.
Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
I'm actually stuck in chapter 20. I need to resist to Saruman. I used /resist command and after than nothing happened. Saruman won't continue his speech. Anything I can do here? Also, it won't let me abandon and re-take this quest, so I'm really stuck.

Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
Just a suggestion, because I had no problems, but have you made sure you have him targetted while you are resisting him? After you resist he continues on and you have to resist again.....I think two more times. Thats my only suggestion, other than that Im afraid I can be of no help, sorry.
Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
Your shackles are gone because I think in ch. 17 or 18 your tell the "Orc boss" that you think you dont need a body guard anymore and can handle yourself ie; shackles now gone and no npc play toy.

Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
I used my return scroll and it reset my travel skills back to 1 hour after having them at 30 minutes. The gate out of the dungeon is closed and the distance on the quest target is 28,000 plus meters. I do have the shackles usuable but for what.
Not enough quests and when the few you do have are borked.... I am reminded why I left before.
Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
Hi guys. I'm not sure if this thread is still active or not, but I just started these quests myself and I'm stuck on chapter 21 as we speak. Shackles and everything are still there and it takes me back to the depths. The place I need to go to challenge a few guys is 21,000+ meters away and the gates are all closed. I was trying to see if there was a way I could cancel it and restart but it wouldn't let me. Cancel was grayed out. I was just wondering if they have maybe fixed this problem? I can't seem to get a hold of anyone or get any help. My character is a level 71 Hunter. Someone said you had to be 72 first, but I remember attempting the quest at level 69 and failed..so I went to try again and I can no longer go back because gates are closed again. I tried to head into Isengard, but I'm blocked out. I was wondering if it may have been because of this quest? Sorry for the long novel here, I'm just sort of confused and a little annoyed I can't do anything. Any help would be awesome. Thank you.
Alright UPDATE*** I used my 'desperate flight' skill and it took me toward a door which brought me to the place, so nevermind!

Re: Their Best Interest (Vol III, Book 4, Chpt 21)
found it.
there is a doorway to the north/central.
You need to go up the ramps in counterclockwise direction.
Flag is called Isengard Surface.
Yes, I ported out; Yes I was stuck.
Level 72.
