I think one part of the quests in Dunland is pretty bad. I did Bonevales, but when an NPC pointed me to Trum later on, I went over there. No quests. Shut out of that quest line altogether.
You need to run north on the road and there's an NPC who will start the questline. You won't get any quests in the town for a little white.
I hit levelcap yesterday. I used DP exp boost and some task resets to get there (like 2 task resets a day) and ended up at 20k xp needed to hit cap when I had exhausted all quests in all regions. I used a couple more task resets to hit 75, which is one sorry way to hit cap..
What Ive learned: Lack of quests to hit cap without problem for characters that were levelcapped when ROI launched is a real problem.
To circumvent it and avoid the complete lack of available quests to tide you over to cap, it seems sensible to do the enedwaith and thangulhad repeatables while they are still lightblue for the exp. Its not as much as quests in ROI give, but it adds up over a few days before they become nonprofit. I will definately do that with my next toons.
Characters that were not level 65 yet when ROI went live havent exhausted mirkwood/enedwaith yet and should be fine.
Questing alone will only get you most of the way through a level. Skirmishes, landscape kills, and other sidebars are expected to maintain the level per division ratio.
Grinding skirmishes? Really? I can't even begin to describe how utterly disappointed I am.
Why does everyone think that they should be able to hit level cap by questing alone? There are deeds, repeatables and tasks there to supplement your xp.
Because this game has been quest focused for a very long time now. This is the first time in a very long time where we're actually expected to grind to the cap. And there aren't even any new skirmishes. So actually you're expected to level by repeating the same content you've been doing for 30+ levels already.
The xp from deeds and tasks is token at best. And I should point out that if you are questing off level (as in you're only 69, but fighting level 72 mobs because that's all that's left quest-wise) the drops aren't going to match your task's level, and you get nothing.
I find it mind-boggling that someone thought this was a good idea.
What disapoints me is how bad this expansion realy is. Bugged quest deeds, being forced to do a skirmish in the shire for chapter 1 of the epic book. I mean come on the shire of all the places for a forced skirmish.
I'm missing a ton of quests in STarkmoor. In fact I've only done three (the hay, the horses, and the stable hand kid) and there is nothing more, anywhere in the Starkmoor except the task board and pit. I did the quest with nona to scout the locations at the farm also, what am I missing?
I experienced the same thing. Does a quest item drop trigger the rest of the quests?

Why was this changed? Questing alone in previous releases (Mines of Moria & Siege of Mirkwood) required no sidebars to reach max level. In fact there were many many more quests than were needed in those areas. I didn't have to skirmish in Moria to reach max level. I didn't even have to complete all the quests. I skipped entire zones and still made the level cap with no problem. The same is true of Mirkwood. Why is it different this time? Who does this change benefit - and how?
Ding! Just looked into the quest files...the designer left them marked for deed completion. My suggestion...move along. After these are fixed (and the fixes go live), you'll get an auto-complete for the deed. They should not be counting towards the deed.
No auto complete. The deed says 26/27 now. Do we need to do one of the culling pit quests?
Have we had any response from Berephon about the Starkmoor quest deed? Prior to the last patch, it was stated that the fellowship quests (i.e. culling pit quests) should not be required for the deed. Post patch, I too am 1 quest short for the deed. Will this be fixed on next patch? (I havent done Isengard on this particular toon, but other toons I have are stuck).
I'm in the same boat. 26/27 and I've been absolutely everywhere in the Starkmoor. Definitely seems to be bugged, unless I'm missing a drop or something.
Same here, never did culling pit quests and am at 26/27. Doesn't seem right that we're required to do fellow quests to complete a general zone deed. Quests of Dunland deed is now gated behind 1 fellow quest. Blah.

Did you get the quest in Galtrev to find Andras and/or did you find Andras and talk to him?

Re: Missing quests in Dunland?
Add me to the list of people who have done 26/27 in Starkmoor. According to http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Categ...arkmoor_Quests, there are only 26 quests aside from the Culling Pit ones, so if it is intended that the quest deed can be completed solo, it is not WAI.
I can't comment on those that were at level cap when ROI was released. But, in my case, I started playing again the week before ROI was released and was at the old level cap of 50. I went through Moria (most of Moria but hated it and left), Lothlorien, Mirkwood, Enedweth, Bonevales, Galtrev, the Bog, Bonavan (sp?), and I'm a few thousand short of 74 today. And, I've still not done my Epic that vectors to the area after Galtrev.
So, for your up and coming characters, there's LOTs of quests to do to get to 75. In fact, I think there's quite a few ROI one's I'll not do and wait till they raise the cap again. Then I'll do them so I'll not experience the problem many of you have had trying to get to cap from 65.
