Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
I farmed 600 gnarled birch branches and only found 2 sigils. Why even allow them to drop from birch nodes if the rate is going to be this low?

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
It is easier to increase the drop rate later on if generation of the item is below the target rate. Trying to flush excess goodies out of the system or reduce the drop rate results in screams for heads.
IMHO - It is better to start low and move it upward. The customers are always pleased by "more".
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
In my opinion the entirety of RoI is an attempt to slow things down by Turbine.
No barter system for LI's from NPC's (all random drops until level 75)
The better crafting materials recipes gated behind reputation Vendors
Granting a better way to gain yield from Farming Fields but then nerfing the result at the workbench by 3/4
Placing the Rhi Helvarchi Sigil (new Mithril Flake) in craft nodes and (so far as we know) not releasing any elite sigil dropping mobs
All of that taken together tells me they want to try and slow the players down.

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
I have harvested between 350-600 birch and I have 6. And I am pleased with that. In fact when I first found one in my pack I was greatly surprised because Flakes never dropped in the wood being harvested. Makes me wonder if the sigils drop for miners.
As far as no "Sigil" droppers, I think it is too early to say that unless you have made it to lvl 75 already. To my recollection, most of the Flake droppers previously were always the highest level or a level or two away. But I guess I will have to wait a few more days to confirm since I am only lvl 68.

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
I've gotten about 6-7 with maybe 700 birch branches, which I think is a good drop rate. They seem to drop more frequently from heavy branch nodes.
What is particularly annoying is that there are no rare elites, so no mobs to get the sigil from (at least I've yet to see any and no one in my kin has either). REs were both a profitable and enjoyable dynamic in the world environment, and the lack of them in RoI seems to me another example of sheer laziness and rush in the xpac and one that really bothers me.

Mined some 500 nodes of ore and some 500 nodes of wood and have not gotten a single Sigil yet.

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
I have had two drop, finished mastery at 67 and haven't stopped gathering wood. I won't try to assign some number to how much I have gathered as I don't see how there is a reliable way to even guess, especially considering I always have floating names off and don't notice if they are heavy nodes or not.
Guess I am trying to say the rate does seem to be quite low for foresters.Cmalberg - Elendilmir

Re: Sigil drop rate from birch nodes is absurdly low
I LOL'd.
Well, I for one am glad that they are dropping at all from wood nodes. They never dropped in T3-T6 wood nodes at all.
As far as slowing people down, from what I've seen in-game and on the forums, it doesn't seem to have helped. They'res already 75's complaining about nothing to do.Willowmead - 75 Burglar Holdwyn - 75 Captain Endica- 75 Warden
