I was then able to do the ooze quest and the kill ten crebain quest, but he wouldn't offer any other quests after that. So I finally just finished the quest that dismisses him, hoping to heck that those other quests would appear later. Nope. So now I'm stuck with a 4/7 quest deed in my log that's now literally impossible to complete. GRRRR!
Same here I did not realize that you had to stand in a particular place to unlock the quests as you go. My husband and I did everything he set out for us and then dismissed him when we were done. Now the "Old Goat" deed can never be completed. I do think they should give us a way to get Andreg back or at least make the quest less ridiculous to complete. At least he should give them all at once.

Aaarrrrrgggghhhhh! Me too...*sigh* 6/7 and no way to finish. My husband ran it and tried to share the quest with me but it didn't work. At least HE got his finished...
Not going to beat myself up, since there was no possible way I could have guessed that this quest was different than previous ones. I never figured out they were linked to location, I just noticed he would get a ring occasionally as we were running through the forest. Maybe someday they will fix this so I can complete it too.

See the other thread about this (the one that's 47 pages long-ish). They are coming out with a fix. We just don't know what it is, yet.

Re: Gravenwood - Andreg - Cruel Traps

I'm running another alt through this today, and the fact that I had to google around to get some hints for completing the Old Goat deed is a red flag in game design.

The concept of having a ranger follow along and give quests is great. I really like that idea and have enjoyed it, even if Andreg is something of a Leeroy.

The execution, however, is surprisingly poor. I find myself running around trying to figure out how to trigger Andreg to give me quests. It's as if it wasn't tested in beta, or at all. That's just sad.

Creating a deed that awards a virtue rank based on this only rubs salt in the wounds.

And as of today, absolutely nothing about this quest line has been improved.

    It's still screwed up.

Same problem here. Hopefully it will get fixed in the next update.

Re: Gravenwood - Andreg - Cruel Traps

Andreg says to follow the north face of the southern mountains, but that has never worked well for me.

In the latest walkthrough (altaholic here), I found that simply heading straight to between the "n" and "w" of "Gravenwood" on the map (as Sealcow333 suggested above) triggered all the quests properly.

In other words, ignore what Andreg says. Just head straight for that spot and you're golden.

Also, regarding traps: whoever thought having those lying around and rooting you for a minute is somehow "fun" needs to go back to developer school. It ain't. To help avoid them, I turn frills completely off (in the advanced graphics tab) when in the area and save at least one trap for last so I can see the trap names and avoid stepping on them.

Again, the concept of the quest is cool, but the execution is pretty bad. Update 6 is coming in a couple of days, but in the very likely event that it changes nothing about this quest, I'm hopeful the tips in this thread may help others who walk heedlessly into the net of Gravenwood.

Put my vote in the category of "Fix this deed". The "Continue" button was the worst. Even with the warnings, the continue buttons makes you think its not over yet.

Anyway, I suggest they just let you pick up the quests you missed at the horse camp, and completely change the deed so that it only appears if you finish all quests and it only gives you a title. Then also re-assign the trait to a different deed.

Re: Gravenwood - Andreg - Cruel Traps

Update repaired this for me. The tracking an old goat was updated, with a warning to finish cruel traps before finishing eyes of the forest. Went back to the campsite NE of Barnavon. Got the whistle again, finished cruel traps, turned in and completed the deed. TYVM Turbine.. Still think this should be fixed though, potential still exists for the same mistake...

Doesn't work, has never worked. Deleted, try again, still nothing. Horrible, horrible, horrible design by someone with no experience with this game.

All the sub quests are done, I am looking for the actual deed in the deed book cannot find it anywhere and it has not in the completed area. I can delete my Eyes in the Forest quest as well as the Dark and Lonely forest quest and wait 5 minutes and get them again only to get the same result.

Simply does not work. I get to the area where it says Scouted the Southern road and it is still asking me to do it again. Delete, re-get, same thing.

    Pathetic.

We'll be addressing this issue in an upcoming patch.

    Re open the quest!

I have the same problem. I was working on deeds today when I realized what had happened. I really hate it when there is no way to go back and redo things like this in the game... I wish they would do something about it...

    Not cool, Turbine. Please fix.

I'm always incapacitated by misadventure. I don't care if it says you got the KB on me, it's still misadventure. I should have just stayed home.

    no fix as of July

53 posts and no apparent addressing of this glitch. My 70 RK managed to pick up four of Andreg's quests, cruel traps and grave corruption being offered at the bottom of the n and w on the map. I will try the other ring-pop location suggested, at 83.0S, 13.8W, and see if that activates him again. Hunting the Pack not offered in the old spot. And I gather this must be done before Chasing an Old Goat could even appear.
