Reasoning for forcing the re level within the guild?
Alright decided I would buy Isen and such today.... finally made it to check on my rep.. Discovered I am forced to re-grind the rep for my weapon guild... Honestly If I would have noticed this in advance I would have dropped the game it is not worth re grinding that again. I Understand you want people to have something to do as a time sink but I would put my effort in a different game, unfortunately I already dropped the money in this one. So for the next 3 months I will play and see if it keeps rotting me if so 6 yrs later you finally made me leave the game with stupid changes that you should not have done.
Re: Reasoning for forcing the re level within the guild?
You may want to put in a bug report. None of my characters lost guild rep, my kindred characters were able to move to master seamlessly via stocked up rep items.

All seven of my crafters were Kindred yesterday when Isengard launched. I used my stock piled items to earn the 45,000 reputation points to master all seven guilds.
Are you sure you lost reputation points? Or did you get confused about the new reputation tier?
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

I agree, all of my kindred crafters were able to turn in stocked up guild items worth 45,000 for the next tier, the first 6 levels required a total of 85,000 rep points.
Question: Are you sure you joined the weaponsmith guild on that character? Maybe you have the woodworkers guild, you can only have one per character.
If your guild rep is really gone, you might put in a bug report.
Re: Reasoning for forcing the re level within the guild?
I am a Premium player currently. All my 7 characters were Kindred (Artisan of the guild) when i logged in last night.
I leveled them during my VIP time. I have also previously bought the Guild Unlock for my Tailor and Cook.
I have stockpiled lotsa Guild Rep items for all 7 professions, and managed to level my Tailor and Cook to Master of the Guild (which is the next level after Kindred). But was unable to level the rest of the professions (can still spam the rep items though), just need to buy unlock from store. Which is working as intended as I am not a VIP currently.
You might be confused with the rep tier. Please see below, the one in bracket is actually the old name prior to ROI release.
Apprentice of the Guild (Acquaintance)
Journeyman of the Guild (Friend)
Expert of the Guild (Ally)
Artisan of the Guild (Kindred)
Master of the Guild (ROI New level)

Ah yes, the name changes, that was probably what confused him, good catch

In a way, I kind of wish they didn't name it like that, because what comes after Master when the next expansion is here? Superior-Master? And the one after that -- Ultra Master?
But then I don't know what else these could have been named to show progression.

Considering that they have just renamed the tiers so that the highest tier is suitably named, I don't think that's a problem; They can rename them when necessary. Rather than coming up with names that thrumps Master, they could just come up with names that comes before it.

They renamed the levels to be in line with the names of the crafting tiers. So I would expect the next added levels to be something like "Supreme of the Guild", then "Westfold of the Guild", etc. Yeah, I know, the last one just doesn't flow off the tongue very well

For guild rep, it makes sense to add a new level when a new crafting tier is added. Each tier requires you to have a certain rep level before you can use the recipes. I would expect a new crafting tier to require more rep than the previous tier. But it would not make sense to do this for faction rep, which was not changed (Kindred is still top). So no one is "forced to re-grind" anything.
Like some of the others here, I just used existing rep items from the vault to get the 45,000 points needed. Even cleared up a few slots doing it, too

I wouldn't even mind if they just used a numerical "naming" structure for the tiers.
Guild Tier 1
Guild Tier 2
... etc.
That would eliminate having to come up with funky new names, and would be a lot less confusing.
If it's an issue with the title you get for it, that (personally) doesn't mean squat to me. I never use titles over my head anyway. But, whatever floats your boat, as the saying goes...
Re: Reasoning for forcing the re level within the guild?
It's not just crafting guilds...two of my chars have lost rep with factions. All 10 were kindred with all factions in Eriador; two have lost a LOT of rep, being forced back to acquaintance with Thorin's Hall and losing rep with the Elves of Rivendell, Council of the North, Rangers of Esteldin and others.
I've opened a ticket but haven't heard anything yet.

These are two different issues, so I'd suggest creating a new thread for your issue, Berenesse, instead of posting in this one.
