Thread: Oort Cloud is recruiting

Oort Cloud is a rank 10 kin, with a wonderfully decorated kin house, on the Crickhollow server. We are seeking to grow, with an eye towards end game activities, including raiding. We are seeking like minded individuals who share our values and wish to participate in our laidback, casual atmosphere. All classes and levels are absolutley welcome, however we are particularly interested in level 55 plus characters.

Who we are:

The members of Oort Cloud are a diverse group of players from all walks of life that enjoy a variety of the things that LotRo has to offer. We come together with a common goal of a kin that is devoid of hatred, pointless drama and senseless arguments. We are an open community that does not judge, nor do we condone attacks against race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, political views, etc. The things that we value most are, Friendship, Trust, Loyalty, Honesty, Respect, and Commitment. Our relationships with each other are paramount over any other game aspects. We consider our members family and strive to treat everyone we meet in and out of the kinship with kindness and generosity, but we will stand up for ourselves when someone treats us poorly.

Some fun trivia: The Oort Cloud is a hypothesized spherical cloud of comets which may lie roughly 50,000 AU, or nearly a light-year, from the Sun.

Just a note. For our size, we are very active. We currently have approximately 30 mains in Oort Cloud and regularly have 10-15 people online during the afternoon to late night time frames. Check us out.

Glad to be back! I need to talk with you about getting some joint raids going, once Justified gets its numbers back up again. =)

Just an update. (all times are Server time -5 US East Coast)

Although we are thin on a few classes for our evening time slot, we have put that old poofbreath Draigoch on farm status and are gearing up for Orthanc. We could use more Burgs, Cappies, LM's, Minies and (believe it or not) Hunters. However, we would especially welcome daytime slot people so we can get some events going during that time. And as always, any class or level is welcome in all time zones.

tried going to your guild website, but is down for maintanance

I've been playing for a little over a year, and have 4 toons, 1 of which is a lvl 75 cappy. Currently I do not have any guild that I belong to, and wish to be in one again (the other guilds I have been involved with have been smaller groups of people that either lost intrest in the game or went other places).
A little about me and my gameplay:
-I am very big into crafting, hence my 4 characters. I enjoy helping others out with crafting, farming alongside them so they can level up as quick as they wish to.
-I recently got a new computer for christmas, in which now i've just started to join raids/6 man instances (my old computer sucked and did not allow me to enjoy raiding). I'm a newb when it comes to raiding, but what i've done so far is a lot of fun and I've seen myself get better within a group.
-I'm a very active player, on every day, usually afternoons thru VERY early mornings. Live in the states, Pacific Time Zone.
Please consider this as an application, and feel free to shoot me a mail in-game, cause I'd love to join an active guild.

We don't stand too much on ceremony but feel it is important that you at least check out the web site to get a feel of who we are. I am on most every evening/night from around 10pm server time (that would be 7pm pacific) and you can ask me or any officer you see online for an invite.

Well, we are doing it. We are running raid sized activities 3 to 4 days a week now but we would like to expand. As of now, we have more than enough people to fill a raid at any given time, but we sometimes have a few extra people. We feel bad when we have to tell people tat we don't have room in a raid, but we just don't have enough people, yet, to fill more than one at a time. So, we want more quality people to help us fill a second or even a third consecutive group on our raid nights. All classes and levels are more than welcome. We have a strong need for Captains, healers and Hunters (believe it or not, we need Hunters lol). Our website is listed in the original post and you can also contact any officer for an invite. Please, if you apply through the website, be sure to check back often to see if you have been approved yet (shouldn't take more than a day or 2 ... usually just hours). When you get approved, contact any officer in game and they will gladly toss an invite your way. If your not level 75 yet, that's OK, we try hard to be as helpful as possible with leveling (don't expect us to hold your hand but we will try hard to ease your way through the rough spots). We have people on at most any given time (there are a few dead times but that may change in the future) and we have capped out crafting guild members in all the production and gathering crafts who would be more than happy to fill your requests. Well, recently we suffered some blows to our end game abilities. Several of our key people have left us. They left for various reasons and none of them included drama. However, despite the setbacks, we are still progressing. We have been working on Orthanc t1 and have been able to defeat the first four bosses but when we confronted Saruman he gave us a whooping. Also, we are continuing to give Draigoch a beating.


We are undaunted and intend to continue to work on Saruman until we have succeeded (and then continue to kick his rear). Our member losses though, have made it more important than ever for us to recruit higher level members. We especially need Burglars, Lore Masters, Rune Keepers, Captains, and healers.
