Thread: Since ALL the RP servers bar toon-tranfer, what other server has an RP community ?

As listed. Darn it's frustrating, but so far ANY server whose forums I've checked, that appears to have an inklling of RP in it, is on the 'BARRED' list of servers for transfer. I've got a mid-20's Hobbit Burglar on Elendilmir and am looking to move somewhere less game-y, more RP-y. Considering how much real cash it costs to do this, I had hoped to be able to be satisfied with the service...

Can anyone advise?

Transfer is barred, but starting a new character on those servers is not. So unless you're utterly attached to that particular Hobbit that's what I'd advise you to do.

Well, honestly I'd prefer NOT to have to grind thru the 20 levels again doing the same things, thank you very much. That's what I am paying 25 bucks for.

So, any suggestions?

Since your character isn't high-level yet, I'd advise you to roll a new one too. However, you have said that you don't want to, and besides, an RP-focused server might or might not be your cup of tea anyway. That having been said, since I'm looking for the same thing you are, I'll let you know what I find.

Well if you want to roll on Crickhollow, where we have a good rp community I'd be more than willing to help you get through those levels fast and painlessly.

I second for Crickhollow. We have the most RP presence outside of the RP and RE servers (we petitioned for RE a while back, but turbine said no.) Lots of sizable RP kins, and there's usually some sort of fun RP event going on. In addition to that, a huge amount of RP in Crickhollow happens by chance. Almost anyone with the RP flag will happily stop to talk to a fellow RPer.

Hm, not sure why you'd say that about me, but... it IS the thing I'm looking for! Hehe, but I saw your thread after making this one, seems we've been recommended Crickhollow eh? This might be good! Except for the grinding through 20 again godsdammit. What is this obvious bias they have against people transferring to RP-favoring servers? The folks claim Crick is low pop, so... what gives?

All right well, poop on a stick, is there anyone else can suggest a good server, where there's some RP. I am transferring, not rerolling. Perhaps even a good Kinship and their server, who like RP?

Crickhollow has a lot of RP. I'd suggest talking to someone in Second Breakfast or...I forget the other major RP one. Remnants of Annuminas, maybe?

Yes we are one of the main RP kins. Second breakfast is large and does more light RP. We tend to keep small and really focused heavy character driven RP. The Mithrim is also a great group of RP'ers.

Heh - I wonder what level you'd be on Crickhollow now if you just rolled a new toon and hooked up with some of these incredibly kind people

That is the point.

The early level grind BORES ME. I already have traits and unlocks. Waiting to get a hundred crits again etc is not what I want. It doesn't even help to have a great, cooperative and cheerful guildmate with me, it's still boring and I've done it already.

So if you are on these servers, I'd love to join you, and if they ever change things I bet I will anyway.. but I CAN'T.

So who CAN I join, and how is the RP there? These are the only answers I seek.

There's a lot of things you will have to do over and over again. Lvl 20 is nothing, really.

Face it: There are 3 dedicated RP servers with a noteworthy RP community: Laurelin with a mostly Euro playerbase, Landroval and Crickhollow. I'm sure all the other servers have RP kinships as well, and you could probably find one even on Elendilmir, but there's still a difference. Those 3 servers offer by far the best environment for a dedicated RPer, especially in form of "free" RP and serverwide events.

Especially the first 15 levels are a blast with the variety they offer. I can't believe that you have taken your first char through all 3 starter zones. The only viable advice can be the one you're given already: Choose an RP server, roll a new toon and quest him through a zone you haven't done yet. RPing a dwarf in the Shire can be a lot of fun

Thanks to generous suggestions which totally go against all that is pure and proud in me.... leaving behind some really happy toons.... I'm reborn on Crickhollow. Gods I hate the starter area. think I might hump it on foot all the way to the Shire, and be a grumbly dwarf drunk there. At least until I get me a sugar momma.
