Thread: Graalx2, Your presence is required immediatly. **PETITION**

Personally, I must admit that I am not overly upset about the changes. I am confident that I will be able to adapt and continue to persue perfection in the Guardian arts. That said, I recognize that many Guardians are upset and concerned. Even other classes have expressed their concern on our behalf. There has been much debate on what works and what doesn't in the changes, as well as a multitude of suggestions and proposed fixes to perceived issues. And while there is a great deal of player based discussion going on, the one thing that we all seem to agree on, and the one thing we are all equally upset about is the complete lack of interaction and feedback from the developer in charge of the Guardian update, Graalx2.

Now, before I posted this, I went and checked the Dev Tracker to see when the last time was that Graalx2 actually posted on our forums because as some of you know, I dislike speculating. The tracker stops at September 15th, 2010 and there was not a single post to the Guardian class forum up to that date. That's one year.

Regardless of my feelings concerning the changes to the Guardian class, I share the sentiment that this lack of communcation is completely unacceptable. Other developers have gone to great lengths to further expand on detailing the proposed changes to classes under their charge and providing feedback to customer concerns, expectations and inqueries (with a few noteable exceptions). The same cannot be said for Guardians and the silence has been noted and created a great deal of frustration for the customers concerned with the class.

There is an opportunity here to calm the customer base and provide assurances which, even if are not completely satisfying in their own right, would at the least assure the customers that their concerns are being heard and taken into consideration. I would urge Graalx2 to take advantage of this opportunity. This alone ought to improve customer satisfaction. So with this thought in mind, I would like to propose this petition with the intention of bringing awareness to the developer team that answers, explenations and feedback are greatly desired by the customer base.

As the chiefly concerned party, it falls to us to take responsibility for our class and to take action in the community if we expect to accomplish the desired effect. You can help this cause by circulating this petition within your own social circle. Inform other Guardians on your server, link it in your forum signature, share it in ooc and glff, if your kinship has a website, post it there as well. The louder we shout, the harder it is to ignore us. Just like tanking.

A few simple guidlines I would request are,

Please do not make inflammatory or inciteful comments (follow the forum rules)

Please do not post here with questions or suggestions. There are plenty of those already.

Please do not post here more than once, as this is an attempt to garner the attention of the devloper team with a workable figure to estimate how many players are in favor of more devloper interaction.

Please do not post here if you disagree with this petition (see above)

Please consider giving +1 Rep to the three signatures after yours to show your fellow Guardians and players that their positive contribution matters.

Just a reminder about the guidelines, this is a petition not a forum for debate, please direct any disagreements or comments you have about the state of Guardians to the many other threads concerning that topic as this is not one of them. This is a petition to generate a response from the developer due to his documented lack of interaction within this community, regardless to what state of play the Guardian class is in. And also please if you have already signed do not give in and respond to these posts as this will only derail this effort. The enthusiasm is much appreciated but the best way you can help this petition other than signing is to generate awareness to it in your own social circle on you server, in your kinship and among your friends. And remember, report don't retort, lets keep this progressive! Thanks again!

Thank you for this. THIS is what we need...not bickering and guessing amongst ourselves. Just the knowledge that Graalx2 knows this forum exists and that we discuss Guardians and their issues here would calm my growing trepidation.

Even as a semi-retired guardian I'm concerned about the issue. Especially with other MMO's and RPG's knocking on the door. Best do something afore we speak with our wallets.

This is exactly what I did. I did not pre-order the expansion, and I cancelled my account months ago.

When I saw the lack of communication and lack of a substantial update to our class, cancelling became the best course of action to make my opinion known to the Turbine or WB. The only reason I'm even here now, is that its hard for me to walk away from a toon I've built up over 2.5-3yrs...but that's exactly what I'm doing.

At least 2 actually...4 if you count the other 2 accounts I cancelled. I'm not a 'lifer' on any account either, I paid for VIP monthly.

I sadly pre-ordered RoI. Worst mistake I made...

I, too, unsubbed due to Graalx's lack of dev response. This same *lack of DEV commnication* occurred to me in another game and it drove me away. I will not stand for this sort of abuse.

This is ridiculous. I used to love this game but now I'm fed up with this attitude. Seriously, do we have to make petitions and beg for our dev to show up and answer our questions and ease our concerns? Champs are getting much much love, their role as tanks is increased again (we've been there with Moria, why repeat the same mistake again?) yet all we get from our dev is a handful of (mostly) meaningless skill updates/fixes along with this 'we are in a good place and don't need any major changes' rubbish.

What about shield-spikes? What about the useless Parry stance? What about OP and our dps? What about the all-messed up trait lines? Are we still capable of being competitive against Wardens (versatility) and now Champions (dps)?

Come on mr. Graalx2, show thy face.

/signed. I dont know a tremendous bunch about the guard forums but i do know that there just isnt as much as the others nice to maybe see the dev come and talk more like the others do

- Show me a Champ who can out-tank a guardian with these changes and I will show you a guardian whom is either incompetent or woefully geared. There are many things a Guardian has over a Champ far as tanking ... armour value, morale, mitigation, and the most resounding one is finesse. Champions CANNOT block ... Champion E/P hits will not doubt be higher against stronger raid mobs than a Guardians will. So what if a Champ can now SPEC for it, thus losing much DPS in his DPS stance, to tank 3/6 mans smoothly ... they almost can NOW on live. Stop using Champs, whom have NOT receive any real positive changes since the game was released, as a scapegoat because some of you feel jilted at the alter of updates.

- Your OP stance is fine, it destroys in Moors and does decent DPS in a group. OP is made for questing and/or PvMP, it is silly to think that someone would level a guardian to end-game only to want to play DPS with end-game content. You don't see many Minstrels playing DPS in a raid scenario short of FILLING an empty role in the group.

- Stop drinking this Kool-Aid, Guardians are in no way shape or form in danger of becoming obsolete or second choice. A Guardian will always typically be THE end-game tank in LOTRO, the First and the Best; sorry Wardens. Oh and I wouldn't worry about Guardians not being able to find 3/6-man groups ... if anything, finally be possible to find one without waiting forever to locate a tank.
