Walking to Rivendell! (yes, really walking!)

I saw, long ago on Landroval, the adventures of a hobbit walking to Rivendell, and I thought to myself, well, maybe one day I will do it. And that day has now arrived. I won't make it in a day , but I will log on every day and march my hobbity bottom along. I'll play music on the harp, share a pint and a story, and in general just enjoy the scenery. Feel free to wave, chat, etc with me as I do this journey!

I would've love to do something similar, going with people.

With my first toon I went to Rivendell around my early 20s, I had the elven sylvan shadows and no horse, so after leaving lone lands I practically journeyed the whole road in the shadows. It took me several hours to get there and since I didn't know at the moment that some mobs don't instantly aggro you I was really scared and not leaving the shadows at all.

It certainly was a fun adventure, my own. When I finally got to Rivendell I was completely mesmerized by the scenery (remember, first toon, never had gone there before).

I hope you enjoy your travel and I'm just noticing that you're in Windfola, send me a tell or mail, I would surely like to join you in your journey, even if I don't do the complete walk.

    Hope all goes well.

I saw something like this as a player event except it was the path of the fellowship. They started at Bilbos/Frodos house and traveled the path of the fellowship.

Anyways this seems like it would be fun, but walking there will take ages.

yeah, it's gonna take ages, but that's kind of the point, at least for me. I'm done with grinding for a bit, so just taking my time

I guess it's something to do while we wait in anticipation for Isengard to come out. I bet Trollshaws is wonderful on cranked up graphics.

I was leveling an alt in Bree-land yesterday when you were chatting with everyone whilst passing through. I hope you have fun! I've always wanted to do something similar (maybe keeping a photo log of the journey) but I've never gotten around to it. Maybe after I get this burg to 75. :-D

thank you! I really appreciate everyone keeping me company during the journey. Also, if you are in dire straits, and know I'm moving through your area (right now I'm parked at Ost Goruth, but later today I will be moving out and probably stopping up in the camp past the Last Bridge), just holler, and I may be able to give you a hand

also, check out my blog link if you want a bit of story; I have only gotten as far as Bree in the blog, even though I've walked to Ost Goruth already. I will add to it as often as I think about it

Sounds like fun. I recommend the Chicken Run Sessions too!! I got my chicken Cloak of the Cluck. Woot!! http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Armou...k_of_the_Cluck

I kinda went out of the normal after a couple of times on it and ran to Enedwaith which was a fun run.

I have no life and I'm easily amused....perfect combination!!

    Have fun on your run!

I've been enjoying it quite a bit; I think after I get to Rivendell I may have to consider a new place to walk to... Forochel, or Eregion perhaps... doubtful if I'll go to Angmar though; bit too dark and depressing for me, lol! The hard part is keeping up with the blogging. I'm not much for daily writing

Thank you all for the replies, btw; helps keep me going!

for those who were reading the blog, I'm sorry I haven't finished it Life has left me with little time to play, let alone write up Moonie's walking adventure! Thank you to everyone who said hello to me while I was out and about, and if I didn't notice anything in regional chat or glff, it was because I seem to have a bug that won't let me see those areas, blegh. I checked, there isn't a 'fix' as of yet, that I can see. Anyway, thanks to all for your kind words!!!
