Thread: Rise of Isengard PvMP gear!

At Rank 10 (and level 65), freeps will be able to pick up a quest from Ash in GV to get their super-spiffy level-with-you cloak. There are 6 choices of cloak, hooded and unhooded versions. They all look quite exceptionally cool.



As a comparison, here are some of the other cloaks that you can buy (note that as a Minstrel, I was only really interested in the cloaks that had my primary stats on it, don't worry, there are might/agility/vitality options, too).



No one seems to know if these cloaks will make it to Live or not, but this is how they are right now on test. And no, I don't know why there is a requirement to pick them up before 11/1/11. *shrug* Maybe they go away after that? Who knows! Also note that the stats on those cloaks are for someone who is Rank 15. If you are a lower rank, the stats will be lower.

Minstrel gear:







Each piece of gear will cost 20 Tyrants Crests and 20 Chieftains Brooches. Never fear, though, as you will be able to get them slightly easier now. The quests to take keeps will reward 100 renown, 1 Tyrant Crest, and 1 Chieftain Brooch. Here's hoping that the creeps will oblige us by taking the keeps a lot, eh?

Lol, too bad I ain't playin freep since turbine isn't making it f2p... Those cloaks look pretty powerful tho, imagine a guards hp with the vit one lol.

By the way, for all you dual-wielding Champions... that axe there? Highest DPS of ANYTHING in the game that I have seen. Your Legendary Weapons won't have DPS that high. The DPS on that axe is INSANE.

Truth. This actually bugs me, because off-hand weapons shouldn't have more DPS than main-hand weapons - at least, I don't think that they should.

For comparison's sake, a level 75 third age 1-h Champ's Axe has ~116.7 DPS. As a weaponsmith, I'll even be able craft mediocre off-hand weapons in the 130 DPS range. I don't understand this. Assuming the usual 5% DPS increase between ages, even a 75 First Age 1-hander might have what... 128-130 DPS?

Random note: I had a Remorseless off-hand dev crit for over 1300 last night with that axe. Sigh.

It has to do with the stat revamp. Physical DPS is now just one attribute which includes ranged and melee offense. I think it might just be a typo at the moment. There are still items in the game that one give one or the other, but most items will now give a bonus to both offense ratings under the physical category. At least, I think that's how it is working.

Also, I'm editing this post to add pics of the other two level-with-your-rank cloaks.

Mmm. Not really. I'm sorry, I'm very focused on Minstrel stuff right now, but I liked the PvMP Minstrel set more than the Dirge-singer's set, for the very simple reason that the new raid set for Minstrels has ZERO Finesse on it. On the other hand, ONLY the Minstrel set has no Finesse on it, all the other classes get some, so your PvE sets may very well be fine. I'd find someone of your class who played beta and ask them about it.

What makes me sad is that I have ground out none of the 65 set at all, so I'm going to have to start from scratch on the 75 set. That is a LOT of flipped keeps, ugh.

Sounds sweet, right now I only have the hat and feet which are the only pieces worth using atm.

I just posted a comparison of the Champ sets over in the Champ forums. Other than the PvE set having more Might, the PvP set seems to be a clear winner to me - to the point that I don't even know if I'll bother acquiring any of the PvE set. I'd honestly rather start PvPing seriously than wear some of the PvE items.

I concur, even the set bonuses I like better for the Warden then the linked PVE set I saw. Not as much Vit, but that really doesn't bug me.

I did a quick comparison of the RK armour sets:

ROI raid set: 732 Will/366 morale/122 fate/ 1,992 finesse
ROI pvp set: 276 will/1380 morale/245 fate/ 2,988 finesse

Going from current lvl 65 PvE gear to the lvl 75 raid armour i'd actually lose 659 morale. I don't think i'm willing to sacrifice that much morale when I will be 10 levels higher and creeps are hitting harder than what they are now. I'm definately going the pvmp route for pvmp.

Is the shadow ward bonus being kept as shadow defense or is it being updated to match the new mitigation system?

That RK riffler just makes me want to shelf my hunter and play my RK exclusively. Turbine seriously loves tactical god-mode classes. I always think its a coincidence, then I realize its not.

Not a typo. But a 1k morale difference, better mitigations, more fate and finesses; for the loss of will may definately be worth it.

In terms of being bent over and shafted yes.

Can some1 provide pic of that rank 8 PVP champ axe ? Would love too see looks.

Why not put that 146 dps axe in you main hand slot? It seems pretty nice that there might be a choice between LIs and normal weapons. I can foresee myself switching between a LI for the times I need bonuses from relics and legacies and a non-LI for times when all I want is more dps. Can you equip 2 of these? I gotta get my champ out to the moors asap.

From what i've read we will be able to barter them one to one without the need of further barter items. This is because of the lame pve grind we had to do to get the current pvmp gear.

I'm not surprised they recycled the PvMP armor cosmetics yet again. I have no idea why I keep holding out hope they'll change it from such an ugly ugly design. Really, any other old set is a better option. Helegrod set is such a puker.

Yea new armor looks completly the same as lv 65.Stats and gear bonus is only different.

What's a bit of a shame is that they did design new models for the now old purple PvP set, probably wasn't to everyone's taste, but at least they were original (I believe ?), and I quite liked them. I wish they'd recycle *that* instead, it's not like they've seen much use so far.

Anything at this point would be better. Moria, DN, BG cosmetics are all acceptable to me; however I would like to see an unique cosmetic to moors even if it looked like trash, at least it would be different, which is what I'm looking for.

Could anyone elaborate on the cost of each item please? Did not find the amount of barter items that need to be farmed in order to get the pieces together.

Edit: sry found it: If anyone elsi is looking for it, the set items are at 20 Brooches and 20 Crests each.
