Thread: item appearance database

Good eve to all! I was wondering if there is a database of tailor recipie images out there. I'm toying with a kin specific item like a cloak or hat. But rather than make EVERY cloak or hat in lotro I'm wondering if someone has already done the labor.

May be one or two things missing or incorrect but it's mostly complete.

Extremely helpful on the Cloak and Costume hat front... Anything on the Tailor hats? Thats the only thing that looked missing.

I've been looking into cosmetics recently and after a lengthy search of the internet have basically only found Darzil's site. There's information spread here and there, mostly in posts, but certainly not as comprehensive and easily accessible in one place, I'm afraid. It looks like you may have to do the groundwork yourself on this one (or enlist your kin if it's a kin-related project).

The tailored hats are included in the armour section of the above linked site, not by themselves but each outfit is shown in it's entirety.

Other than that, you don't have to make an item to see what it looks like, you can preview it from your recipe journal just as if you had the item in your pack.

The problem with doing every item appearance in the game is basically a combination of several things - difficulty, storage, lack of verifiability.

I only put things onto the site that I can verify at any time and with each patch, and had to buy a larger in game house just to store the world drop armour sets! So crafted stuff and barter items are easy, as the recipes can be kept, and the barter vendors visited, at any time. Same for purchased items.

If anyone wanted to start a site with appearance only for non-crafted, bartered, purchased armour, I'd happily link to it from my site in appropriate places.

Missy...not sure how you can do that. I can get the stat tooltip but I'm more interested in tthe dressing room appearance...does this make sense???

Darzil...ill take a look under the armor sets...your site is great!

If you already have the recipe for the item, you can open it in your crafting panel and Control+click on the icon to look at it in the dressing room on your character.
