I have an Elven Hunter which I have recently re-started and have a background for them in mind, my current name is just something I used when originally creating my elf in beta and I simply used an elven name translator for Nicholas so its not very original or good.
His new name is supposed to be for a human of this region, his parents family name was Lowe and the new first name I'd like to use is Dellorn.
"An elf found as a baby by a woodsman living near to the town of Archet 53 years ago, the couple although generally honest and hardworking had longed for a child for some time but had been unable to have any so decided to raise the child as their own keeping themselves away from other men who may spread word of the lost elf child.
As with all Elves Dellorn aged slowly in body but quickly in intellect learning his fathers woodland skills and enjoyed taking time to fish, hunt and camp out under the stars. As his parents aged he began to ask questions of where he came from, his parents unable to keep it a secret any longer told him the truth of how he came to be with them but were unable to tell him anything of other Elves besides the odd sighting, folk tales and myths. Although angry with what they had done Dellorn could not deny his parents had loved him and raised him well, he continued to live with them but often thought what it would be like to travel the world and seek out his true past.
After his parents deaths Dellorn sold his families home and decided to head out into the world and find out something of his past. He hid his elven lineage as best he could wearing a hood and mask not uncommon amongst rangers of the land and travelled the short distance to Bree to find work as a messenger, guide or trapper and seek out any word of Elvenkind."
Please give honest thoughts about the background and/or name choice, all constructive criticism welcomed as I'm not a huge Tolkien lore buff and am only just started getting re-aquainted with his world.
Thank you!

Nothing wrong with the name and althougth the circumstances are unusual, I think it works just fine. It would certainly explain why none of the other elves recognize you and ask that you prove yourself via a rep grind!
It may not be intent just how you worded it. But you make it sound like Bree and Archet are far apart, like you had to sell your house and "travel" there, when its just a half a days walk down the road...
Otherwise, I like the story, and think the name is fine.
Hi, my name is:

This seems incredibly unlikely to me - the woods there would have been a peaceful place back then, no bandits or anything, so I'm having great trouble imagining circumstances which could lead to an Elf-child being abandoned there.
Besides, the folk of the Bree-land were supposed to be at least passingly familiar with Elves, unlike most other Men, because Elves travelled through there from time to time.
Also: word of him would inevitably have spread, because people gossip, and that would have drawn attention from the Rangers or the Elves themselves. I should have thought that at some point during those eighty-three years, someone would have come looking to see if the rumours were true. There'd have been no hiding that he was an Elf, because of his decades-long childhood and his agelessness once he'd grown up.
Bit of a problem with the timeline, too: if he was found eighty-three years ago then his adoptive parents would have died decades before the present time, leaving the question of what he was doing between then and the 'now' of the game.

No didn't intend that but its a place he'd not visited much before and he was used to just living around Archet and working the land with his father. I'll re-word it to make it a little clearer thanks.

Thanks for your input, i've corrected the timing a bit so it makes more sense. I've amended the story a little to make a bit more sense of how he wasn't sought by other elves/rangers etc but as to why he was left alone in the woods even I haven't though that part up yet but will in time.
