Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Never have i felt so gutted, 4 years hardcore purely pvmp down the drain. However, i believe this change of pay to win as stoffi said, will close the gap between r0's and lvl 75's which is kinda what we need. This change will really kinda balance things out imo, if not balance, close the gap some more between r0's and lvl 75's. No matter how many skills you have though, you have to have experince on what your doing, so this will really benefit the experinced pvp players imo
. However higher ranked creeps will still benefit from that fitease thingy? morale, power etc stat wise if thats what i read, can anyone confirm it?

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
I don't see it any differently to the increased availability of 2nd & 1st ages from the past. Once upon a time, no one had any 1st or 2nd age weapons/items, then a lucky few got 2nd ages from random drops, then a few who managed to down the watcher at lvl 60 and a lot of luck had bragging rights for owning the servers only 1st ages, eventually world+dog had lvl60/65 1st & 2nd ages from completing ever more trivial quests - library or school anyone ?
Now for creeps you just need TP to get those exclusive skills - even if you are a F2P getting them from deeds/rep is not hard, just a grind. For those high ranked who earnt their skills - they have had exclusive use for x months/years - congrats ! Hope you enjoyed using them
Now it's time for others to have a go using them to. Nothing is being taken away from you - you still have them and the shiny rank badge to go with it.
If lower ranked creeps buy them, what is it to you, how does it impact your pvmp experience that they get to press buttons that you once upon a time only pressed ?
As is so often said here: Let others play how they wish.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Got no probs whatsoever with Rank 0's being able to TP or buy their skills, I think it will be great for creepside and may encourage a whole influx of new blood. Also those new creeps coming to face Lev 75's will need every leg up they can get as has been stated before.
The fact that Rank 10's+ will get all their higher rank skills instantly available is a nice consolation to outweigh having your hard earned Rank diminished. As long as theres not 20 other wargs running around with 100% pure L'orealNESS Rank 11 skins cos they store bought them, Im happy. If skins are made available in the store Id like to see them limited to High Rank or Rank will have no purpose whatsoever once youre Rank 10.

Awesome link, Draug.

http://theartofwarg.wordpress.com/ri.../warg-changes/
All creep classes will have access to all of their skills by rank 10. Skills that were previously gated behind ranks 11+ will drop down to rank 10. So if you are already rank 10 you should automatically have every skill when Isenguard launches. From other posts on the forum it seems that traits granted at ranks 11+ will remain where they are and won’t drop to rank 10 as the skills do.
Looks like maps can be bought as well.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Pretty much this except that its not only them that will have this. RKs can now cure all people of slows with 0 attunment on a spammable skill that can be used on the move.
In short, freeps will now have the ability to be immune to all stuns. Instant cure for any silence and instant cures for any slows at no cost with no inductions with skills that can be used on the move.
Enjoy that one

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
That just means that the item is not a consumable and not transferable (dont you have a freep??). Once you got it, you got it. No CD it just costs an item slot.
Or more likely, having it on a quick slot like burgs do with their tools so that you can instantly swap it in combat, remove the slow (+ a heal) then re-equip a different item...

Am i right in thinking that all classes both freep and creep will be able to buy and use tracking talisamns in etts just like the use of stun/root pots for money ?

for TP you can I think. Not for silver in game as I understand it. I believe all the items you have seen for creeps will also be available for freeps (r15 brand etc):

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Basicly I don't think this will move the balance in any way back towards the creeps.
Freeps ability to stack up on stats, to improve dps, survivability etc, removal of caps for evade/block/parry etc, will pretty much only deepen the gap that there already is, even rank 15 skills will not make much of a difference, when you can be killed in less than 10 seconds by a single hunter/rk/minser who has targeted you.
The fundamental unequality atm IMO is burst dps, ranged dps, and cc resistance. And I basicly don't really see how this will change anything in favor of creeps, if anything it will only get worse, and I frankly don't forsee creep HP, resistances or corruptions to get a lift that will compensate for this.Last edited by Angdraug; Aug 31 2011 at 10:34 AM.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Further thoughts on this after reading a little more on implementation issues. It seems as if without a decent finesse rating all the skills will be little more than an irritant to most. Therefore a r0 with r15 skills will have no impact until they can get some finesse.
More importantly the r15 traits will not be accessible, so for example the creep counter to the burg 5s combat grace riddle (weaver r15 trait for enhanced paralytic venom) will not be usable either..

So an RK can shake off a slow with a spammable heal while carrying an item that makes their tactical damage and healing stronger?

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
I know, it was more of a rethorical question because it was NOT a store pot but an actual permanent item.
Basically, ALL rks will be 100% unbeatable for ALL wargs unless the rk is a COMPLETE fool. Just what rk needed, a big boost. But I'm guessing that's a store item, so the rk will be Paying to Win, but the same can be said about creeps buying skills.
Pay To Win for me is mainly store pots which enhance your level of skill in PvP.
But given there are so many store things to buy now, the line between Pay To Win and not will get blurred, and thus Turbine made sure we can't resist. This game is going to hell, at least PvP-wise.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...visions/page40
Apparently, mapping now breaks stealth..... That's a huge nerf. :-/
Changes for warg:
Warg
All Howls
-Removed inductions & allow use while moving
-Revise animations for movement
This is on beta.
Rend Flesh
Current: +10% Incoming Melee/Ranged Damage debuff that last for 1m with a 5m cooldown
Reason for Change: Making this a reactive skill allows me to add this to their standard rotation while not having to rely on a heafty cooldown.
-Change skill to trigger off crit events
-Remove cooldown
-Add moderate damage
This is on beta.
Maul / Bloody Maul
Current: Light damage skill with a DoT that is amplified by stealth. (5s Cooldown)
Reason for Change: Provide a healing debuff skill to compensate for the Burglar’s Insignias.
-Add a critical effect: “Festering Wound” which reduces incoming healing by 25% for 30s
This is on beta.
Dire Howl
Current: On Defeat Event AoE heal. (15min cooldown)
Reason for Change: Weak AoE heal with short range, induction, and rooted anim. Cooldown was far too severe for the skills limited use.
-Reduce cooldown from 15m to 2min
- Increase range from 7.4 to 10m
This is on beta.
Flea Bitten
Current: -143 Agility, -1300 Wound Resist Rating or 2m. (2m Cooldown)
Reason for Change: The animation causes this skill to take awhile to trigger and a reduction in Agility has limited uses.
-Increase impact of Resistance Debuff
- Effect Duration & Cooldown changed to 45s/45s
-Replace Agility debuff with an induction debuff (+10% - fleas are distracting!)
-Make AoE (7-10m, 3 targets)
As far as I remember, there is no longer an agility & wound resist debuff on the skill. There is a 10% Induction and Attack Duration effect.
Sense Prey
Current: Tracking Range: 120 Meters. 2 min CD.
Tracking Range: 120 Meters. 1 min CD. This is in beta.
Frenzy
Current: +1300 Critical Rating, +5% Evade chance. 1 min 30 sec CD.
+1xxx Critical rating, +5% Evade chance. As far as I remember, this still has 1 min 30 sec CD.
Howl of Unnerving
Current: 1s Induction Howl that applies 2 Dread to 4 players within 10m (1m Cooldown).
Reason for Change: Players dislike this skill because it requires traiting and the effect does not stack. These changes allow this skill to be a combat initiator, while at the same time creating tension for Freeps as they will hear and see the effects before the battle begins.
-Does not break stealth
-Reduces B/P/E ratings of targets
-25% Chance to Fear each target for 3-5s
This is on beta.
Shadow Howler
Current: Stance: +15% Melee Damage, Increased Armour, Negates 12 damage from every attack
Reason for Change: Negating 12 dmg in a world of 1-4k crits is not attractive. They forgo stealth to use this, so the damage negation should make them feel more tanky.
-Increase the damage negation effect.
As far as I remember, this keeps the +15% Melee Damage, has 20xx amour, 7xx tactical mitigation and the 1000 morale bubble. It's also usable in-combat. No longer negates damage.
Pack Elder
Current: Provides increases to weapon damage types.
Reason for Change: Bonuses are pretty weak, netting the player less than 1% defences.
-Increase damage type bonuses (currently +195 each).
-Increase the Warg’s chance to penetrate target’s defences.
Sorry, I have no information on this.
Enhanced Skill: Disappear
Current: Player is able to stealth in combat (10m cooldown)
Reason for Change: Mimic the updated functionality of HiPS.
-Reduced cooldown – 5min
-Adds a cleanse to Disappear (removals all harmful effects)
-Available at Rank 9
This skill only takes the cooldown to - 7 minutes. No clease whatsoever.
Enhanced Skill: Stealth
Current: Increases Stealth Level and Movement Speed in Stealth. +3 Stealth, +45% in stealth movement speed.
+4 Stealth, +45% movement speed. This is in beta.
Four-legged Foe
Current: Increases Run Speed and Evade Chance. +5% movement speed, +260 Evade rating.
+5% movement speed, +300 Evade rating. This is in beta.
Pack Mentality
Current: Increases Parry/Evade Chance, and boosts Physical/Tactical Resistance.
This skill has been slightly boosted. Sorry, right now I cannot give you the numbers. This is in beta.
Foe of the Light
Current: Increases Stealth Level and Light Mitigation. +2 Stealth, +390 light mitigation.
+4 Stealth, +xxx light mitigation. Sorry, right now I cannot give you the actual mitigation number. This is in beta.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
this is correct. Warg max stealth is currently +5 at your rank (+3 for lower rank) and this will change to +8 at your rank (+4 at lower rank).
If you could for example trait this now you would be 73 steatlh level. However, in RoI this will be 83 stealth (for what its worth)
effectively each stealth trait will now be worth +4 stealth.

Although I don't disagree that the new riffler is op, and i'm hugely biased on the matter. Rks epic conclusions getting nerfed a fair bit from what i've heard from people who rolled rk on the beta. Doesn't this count for anything? :P or are we just moving straight on to the next thing
PS. it actually gives less additional damage then the old rifflers if its what i think it is squelchFreeps: Remylebeau the Champion, Proud member of Shadow and Flame, Manic the Out-Lore, Proud defender of Middle Earth

I stole your signature!

But let it be said, play style cultures are different on each server. I do not agree with your words on camping spawns. They all deserve to be eaten. If they had been underdogs and weak, sure, I would give them some breathing space. But as it is now, we need every advantage we can get, and even more so in the future when Isengard comes.
Not that I camp spawn that much, but it's a viable tactic still.

Re: Ongoing Ettenmoors Discussion
Nope its not. But its also not like all r0 will be running with all the skills from the store (if i would see 1 btw i would /lol at him). Its not like some poeple see it, that an amy of RK's will be running the moors and spamming riffler's. Besides i heard lightning line along with healing line was nerfed for RK's.
And like i said some time ago tac crit multiplier seems to be gone from tactical classes sets. I've heard only crafted armour got some of it.Last edited by Viriel; Sep 01 2011 at 06:35 AM.

Yeah! Who would expect RK-s to use their new abilities that give them vast advantages in ettens!

One of the few reasons I'm able to kill the weaker RK-s is mostly the slow right now. The good ones are already unreachable. Has anyone tried killing Groth or Rave on a reaver? I enjoy meeting them as much as I like pulling my teeth out through my ar-se.Laslo Haven - Rank 4 Champion in Hecil
