I have now achieved another goal of spending 389,628 skirmish marks to max every soldier, skill, training, and personal.
A fellow completionist kinmate was working on his lieutenant slayer deeds when he started working on leveling all the skirmish soldiers. We soon had a friendly race going on. He finished his soldiers last week and his lieutenant deeds last night. I just finished my soldiers last night.
Re: Skirmish soldiers, skills, trainings, and personals maxed
Congrats!
What's it take to max out a single soldier? (purchased At level 65, I know the skills are more expensive the more overlevel they are to the character)

You're crazy!
Oh right, Battlemaster Hasslefrass, who ninja'd the cloak of Hwin from fellrotten, finished maxing his pet's pets. The lynx is thinking about ranking the skirmish soldiers to r12 before fell.
Re: Skirmish soldiers, skills, trainings, and personals maxed
I was about to make a new thread for this, but since I found an SM gaining expert here I'll ask you:
What is the "best" way to earn SM?
By best I mean the most efficient timewise.
I know a few skirmishes that are very short to finish, and putting them a few levels lower than myself make me finish them faster, but it still feels like getting marks take sa long time, and buying good stuff costs around 1500 marks.

Any tips would be welcome
Since you're lvl 61, I'm not sure if I know.
At 65, the absolute best way is to do fellowship size skirmishes. Ford of Bruinen, Defence of Prancing Pony, Attack at Dawn, and all the Dol Guldur ones. Each one will net you a maximum of 500/skirmish in 15 minutes. On top of that, all those can be done with just 4 people on fellowship size. It's fantastic.
If you're stuck solo, then do Dannenglor, T&M, Rift, and Tuckborough. If I enter an instance after doing those 4, I will get the 5 instance/hour warning with over 30 minutes to cooldown. Don't do these solo one in a group unless you know them well and you have a good group. It's interesting that the best solo ones are the worst group ones.
When I'm really needing marks, I'll do every skirmish daily; but I doubt folks have the time/patience for that. I have very strict rules for which ones I'll do a group for or which ones I'll only solo. Try to do some of the good solo ones while looking for a few for fellowship ones.
My kinmate (4th reply on this thread) found, correctly, that School/Library are FANTASTIC sm/hr. Especially when you do all 3 quests for each one in one run.
I'm not entirely convinced that the Great Barrows classic instances are worth the time....
Re: Skirmish soldiers, skills, trainings, and personals maxed
do the survival skirmish if at all possible. 1 hr level 68 raid size gets you between 1900 and 2650 marks per hour depending on dailies and skirmish mark boosters. Find a good warden and take a hour long nap.
