If I were to make consumables to level my Woodworker, which ones would be the best ones to make in order to either maximize profit, maximize efficiency (get me something I could use later on an alt), or simply make the most of the resources I have.
Since each item only takes two planks and gives 6 experience and doesn't require ANY purchase at the craft provisioner, it seems like this would be a great way to do things, unless none of the class items are useful.
Captains have those emblazoned crests (the one that gives ranged crit to the ghost seems like it would be useful for soloing high level captains), wardens have hymns (none of those appear clearly better, but I don't play high level wardens), and RKs have parchments (I would think the outgoing healing ones might be good). I'm only interested in making the highest possible level ones, because I wouldn't think the demand would be that great for the, say, level 55 ones or whatever the lower level is (non-65 or the 60+ ones).
It all depends on where you are starting from.
If you have just started on your WW crafting then I would suggest just crafting Great Clubs
I know the panel says you only get 6pts per item but that in fact is not true. You actually get 10 (4pts for the Stave/Shaft/Haft and 6pts for the club).
Also they vendor for the highest amount.
Starting from scratch, the majority of Crafted Gear wont come into effect until around the mid-30's level.
If you go via the consumables you will need more wood
Although I have make Woodworker consumables, there is no demand for them. Players do not use em. I could not even sell them for vendor trash price. Unless you are going to send them to your own alt, you are better off making something like a Great Club.
I ended up giving consumables away to friends. Most them ended up vendoring them. They never used em. Or they still have em because they never use em.
Some consumables get used. Hunters love the fire oil, light oil, traps and lures. Burglars use the marbles. This consumables does not seem to get used much.
The other issue is the Ghost problem. Most of the Captains I know do not have a Ghost. They are traited in a different line. My Captain is a Hand of Healing Captain. Always uses a Banner. Heralds do not hit very hard even when you have a 65 Captain. I get good results with a 10% Telling Mark with a Banner of War.
I only use the Herald to keep critters busy. I am doing the Lothlrorien reputation quest one and two. Get the orc weapons and the barricade. I will send the herald in to aggro the mobs while I get the stuff. Run off and leave the Herald to die.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.
