Everyone keeps saying how captains really shine in groups and that in solo we are a bit lacking compared to other classes but we can do some good solo things when properly traited and played so I thought I would put this list together for those captains who like to solo and those that like to challenge themselves.
I know I haven't done every boss/instance and I don't know them all so could people please post ideas for bosses to do or bosses/instances they have done.
The setup of a solo captain:
Here are some tips on how to setup the solo captain, this is just my preference as there are some traits that can be swapped in and out depending on the situation but this should be a good core setup from which to start with and you can then change to suit your preference.
Class Traits:
5 Blue - Strength from within, Captains Hope, Now for Wrath, Strong Voice, Relentless Optimism.
This next set I interchange, I go one red one yellow when I try something out for the first time and 2 red for a quicker attempt.
1 Red - Expert attacks. 1 Yellow - Defiance
2 Red - Expert attacks, Renewed voice
Legendary:
Hands of Healing, IDOME, Oathbreakers shame
Armour:
This is especially subject to change depending on what damage type you will be taking. Below I will post the build I use for common damage.
Malledhrim Hauberk of the Gloaming (chest), Malledhrim gauntlets of the Gloaming (gloves), Leggings of the Hillwatcher (legs from Volume 3). The rest I put together for the best stats I can get at the time.
Legendaries:
Weapon LI's (preferably a 1H and 2H weapon so you can use a shield and DPS) - Devasting blow critical rating, Pressing attack critical rating
Emblem LI's - Rallying cry cooldown, Muster courage cooldown, Vocal skills healing, Rallying cry Healing.
I am away from my computer at the moment so will update with more information when I get back to it.
1. Screenshot/video or it didn't happen
2. No outside buffs allowed (not really necessary for captains really :P)
3. Enjoy yourselves

As you can see this is far from full/complete so any ideas are welcome. Also, I am trying to do it in order of difficulty so if I put something down and you dont agree with the order please say so.
Remember to bring your food and scrolls and most importantly have fun out there.

Do you, or anyone else, have the name for that tyrant. Also, when you say Bogbereth was easy do you think it should be moved up the list or is the list ok as it is?

It might be theoretically possible to solo Water Wheels.... I'm not sure about the other three mans. HoM's may be a bit much for the captain, especially with the mistresses wandering around.
Edit: DP/Consumables allowed with this?

I have added a few more instances to the list after seeing Extrima's youtube videos (hope you don't mind me using them). If anyone who has done these please comment on the order of difficulty as I am away from my computer for the next few days so have no way of trying them out, but you can be sure when I am back that I will.

Yes, anything that doesn't require another class/player using their skills to buff you so I recommend stocking up on food if you want to try them .

I´ll try an outpost of the ettenmoors today... but not these krahjarn tyrants... think they´re pretty easy... I want to try the enemy in neutral outposts (sry., don´t know the english word :P)... these "woodtrolls" are reported to be very difficult
The tyrants are cake. But I would be willing to pay big money(in game of course) to anyone who can solo one of the wood trolls. Not only do they self heal, they put up a buff called "Thick Skin" iirc which increases their defences, it stacks and they put one up every ~60s or so. I remember trying to take one of the OPs with 3 creeps, 2 wargs and a WL. It took us like 10 min to kill the damn thing, and then to top it off. It respawned before we could even take the banner...
