    A little jewellery advice please

I was initially planning to obtain the Ring and Bracelet of Brawling for my champ, but realized that I needed the Angmar quest-pack as I'm not VIP. Are there any suggestions for an alternative? Looking for the jewels that increases might, vitality and morale. Also, I'm currently using the Cloak of Greyhammer and have been using it for some time now. I was just wondering is there a better cloak out there that I should look for? Thanks in advance.

You can't get the brawling set if you are not VIP, the skirmish is not part of the questpack yet and can not be purchased with TP point either. You used to be able to buy them for scrolls of empowerment because they were Bind on Equip but they changed that now so you have no way of getting a set.

For jewelry, glowing aureate (rings and earrings) stuff is always good. For bracelets, Greenwood warrior bracelets are good and not that expensive. For earrings you are going to want 2 sarenzers from Tier 2 NCF. One of the better necklaces can be gotten as a rare drop from final boss in Halls of Crafting, you can also get a good pocket item from that (the anvil).

I would recommend a loadout like this: 2x Sarenzer (T2 NCF), 1x Mini bronze anvil (HOC), 2 Glowing Aureate Bands of Morale (crafted), 2 Warriors Greenwood Bracelets (crafted), Tinc-Iaeth (HOC).

For cloak, the Egnion Clog from rep barterer in Enedwaith is pretty good.

On the contrary, you can buy the Halls of Night from the Turbine store. The cost is 400tp. It is not apart of the Angmar quest pack, and comes as an instance by itself.

When did they add it? Last time I checked I couldn't find it. Good to know

You have to find the entrance (It is in Oatbarton in South Evendim). You have to discover all the instance entrances to be able to go in them (only 1 is in Enedwaith).

Same thing with Halls of Night, btw. You have to go there before it'll unlock. It's just north of Aughaire - leave out the north exit, hug the east mountain-wall as it turns into the south wall, and you'll run into it.

Stoneheight is east of Amon Raith, where the road bends sharply north and then sharply east again.
Lost Temple is in Trollshaws - if you did the quest to protect a bird, there's a bridge just north of that, go over the bridge, turn east, and hug the north wall.
Sari Surma is in Forochel and is perhaps the easiest of all of these to get to - go northwest out of Suri-kyla and look for a boat along the shore.
Inn of the Forsaken is at the Forsaken Inn, just talk to the barkeep.

I recommend the Star Necklace (Lost temple), NCF-earring x2, Linked Emerald Bracelet x2 (Sâri-surma), Textured Gold Ring(Sâri-surma) and Ril-Nir (SG). Nice champ-stats on all of em.

Textured Gold Ring(Sâri-surma) and Ril-Nir (SG) No, go for the ring of brawling, w/ same note as above.

Yeah, was just showing the non-HoN-pieces I'd use. Wearing 2x Brawling-set myself.

As a side note, I think you have to discover HoN before you can buy it from the store. That may be why it doesn't appear. (Once you discover it, you can find it under Account>Quest packs and such>Instances)

Aarow - The champion with charisma.
Oridon - A rune keeper of the highest quality. Also known to be on the crazy side.
    Akban - "Prepare to die."

Why go 2x brawling set instead of 2x braclet, 1 ring and Ril-Mir? (Or Forgotten Jewel)?

Ril-Mir has less total morale for Champs compare to Ring of Brawling(312 vs 356). It's an even bigger gap if your Vit are above cap with buffs. Plus Ring of Brawling is 10 times easier to get.

Re: A little jewellery advice please

First, stop talking about ril-mir and start talking about textured gold ring :-P

Second, what to wear depends on your vitality. Difference in morale between gold and brawling ring is minimal. So in solo or when you dont group with cappy/mini (buffing) and cant cap vitality by other means (bow/food), wear textured gold ring. If you can cap vitality without it, wear brawling ring.

Re: A little jewellery advice please

Agreed about the Textured Gold Ring- it's just I've only run SS a couple of times Tier 2 and the drop didn't happen. (I do have Ril-Mir.....)

On that note, I'd like to have the Star Necklace also; but, seem to have trouble getting through Lost Temple Tier 2 (especially every time the group wants that quest where the first bosses goes down within 10 seconds of each other....)

Thanks, though, for the advice on when vitality can be maxed by a cappie- I'll start a list of alternative jewelry for when there's a cappie buff.

Following the thread of jewelry advice- does anyone use the Lothlorien Protector set as a sort of "instance defense"? It seems like the -100 reflection can be useful on a situation basis?

Assuming you want to maximize your dps, you always use the brawling set x2.

Thats what I was told, but decided to find out for myself, set bonuses do in fact stack.

I'm not talking about morale... I'm talking about melee offence... and yes, I know my math was good

I didn't check to see if morale stacked, and I frankly don't care if it does. Morale does not equal SCHING.

I guess you checked it by swaping one brawling ring/bracelet for something else and then put back? Thats bugged, when you un-equip just one piece of the four, you'll lose even that one bonus you get. To get that single bonus back, you have to equip it again, that is why it looks like it stacks, but in reality - it dont :-) Do your math from the scratch, no jewellery and then add one set, look and check on numbers, add second set and check again. That will reveal the ugly truth :-(

Besides morale and melee offence are together, so if one dont apply, nor the second one does :-P

Does the stacking of the set bonus affect whether or not you should use brawling?

Without the set bonus on the 2nd set is there a better ring/bracelet combination? I'm not sure I know of any.

Not really, just that you might swap one brawling ring for textured/ril-mir if you need vit.

OOOOOhhh... I think I understand... you're arguing something different entirely than what I'm arguing.

When you have one piece of the set, you get no bonus.
When you have both pieces of the set, you get the bonus once.
As soon as you add either piece of a second set, you get the bonus again.
But adding the fourth piece, you don't get any additional bonus.

So your point may be that you don't need that 2nd ring, because you already get the bonus. Technically, that would be correct - but the morale on that ring is way better than the textured gold ring could ever hope to approach.

Re: A little jewellery advice please

If you call 26 morale points way better.... ok :-P Ofc if you can cap vit by other means, difference between brawling and textured gets bigger. So textured only if vit is needed.

    Now to set problem:
Without any jewellery - i have 6550 melee offence
    Adding 1 set - i have 7165 melee offence (6550 + 23*10 + 23*10 + 155 = 7165 - all good here)
    Adding another bracelet - i have 7395 melee offence (7165 + 23*10 = 7395 - ehm, where is that second bonus?)
    Adding second ring - i have 7625 melee offence (7395 + 23*10 = 7625 - again no sign of second bonus :-P)

^ I cant see any mistake in it. Yet no stacking.

It's possible they patched it. The day it came out I ground out all 4 pieces, and checked the numbers before putting them all on. Confirmed my findings with a Guardian who was doing it as well. I haven't tested it recently.
