I'm biased since I play a warg, but a warg duo can be both very fun and very effective. The warg class is also good if you are new to the Ettens and simply want to check it out. The stealth provides (relative) safety whilst you get your bearings.

Reaver + WL is a very good combo once you get some rank behind you. Seen r11 WL + r11 reaver for example take out 4 ungrouped freeps.
I personally love to wander around the map with an amigo on his high ranked WL because it takes some serious work to take us out with the combat rez etc. Really the only time we lose is against another equal healer/random duo (for example tank + captain is insanely hard to beat).
You will need rank for this to be truly effective imo, if not two grouped wargs is pretty effective.

my wife and i have several characters at level cap and are getting bored with gear/rep collecting.
we mostly play in a duo or solo.
she seems to prefer her LM or hunter, i like guardian or captian.
any advise for which two creep classes would be good for us?
Best advice is for both of you to log on every single class, take at look at the skills and the unlockable skill/traits at the trainer and decide which would be best for you.
I consider Creeps as long time commitments, changing classes when you are rank 4+ is a real pain.
Judge which class fits and rewards you best the longer you play them then stick with it till the end.
Trust me when I say going for multiple alts can be "helpful" at times... but more often you'll be cursing yourself... "if only I could transfer infamy from one character to another."
However, going by what I know and your freepside classes, I will go out on a limb and say Reaver or Warleader for you and a Spider or Defiler for your wife. (Spiders are the only female creep class)
All of these classes are good choices for duoing and if you ever feel like joining a bigger group or raid you shouldn't have a problem.

This.
Play with each class and see which suits you. Expect to die alot, but thank turbine for that.
Personally, I think weaver+reaver are a great combo. At r6, the weaver can mez targets, reaver charges, puts a slow on, then when the weaver comes up use Web the earth (slows targets whoever goes into the webbing) and proceed killing the target.

Re: 2 newbies
Please keep in mind that a level 65 Creeps is NOT the same as a level 65 Freep. You will need to rank to catch up. To rank you need to defeat Freeps. You will die lots.
My recommendations;
Read the Creeps guides.
Start with two wargs. Use them until you get a feel for Creeps side. Then try the other classes.

I would not recommend wargs.... unless you are positive that you will only be playing with one another. Wargs are never wanted in raids unless they are like, rank 35... or are very well known.

I don't know about other servers, but on E we will basically take whoever raises their hands first and work with it.
I'd recommend starting with wargs. That way you can learn the map from the relative safety of stealth which will greatly help if/when you play visible classes. As a r8 warg, I'd vote for at least 1 warg, but that's just me :P.

What warg really cares about raids? We can feast our fill on the outskirts of the raid. Raids only serve to get wargs slaughtered. We have learned better than to trust our lives to raids.

Wise words sir.
