    For the New Creeps

    Welcome to the Moors

Lately there has been some quite a few new creeps roaming around the Moors and I know many need some help.

I will attempt to give you a quick and as short as possible intro. Now I am not a high level creep and by far not the resident expert in the moors, in fact am only active in the Moors for about a year and not a Full time creep, but I am sure some others will fill in the blanks, fix my boo boo's etc...

I do have a Freep (Free People) but tend to Creep 95% of the time in the Moors as of late.

Before I start here are a few dont's....
    Don't SPAM, OOC
Don't Blind invite people to groups and Tribes this will get you ignored.
    Don't Pounce burgs LOL
Don't Worry you are new you will Die Allot
Don't say over here.... Use the list below and North / West etc and try to be specific this will help locate you if you need help especially
    in a raid situation.

    DO's
Get Vent (Thank you Lockdown). Many creeps use it to communicate so even if you solo you can kind of focus on freeps. Sorry I don't have the Creep Vent info but I am sure someone can post it.
Raids can sometimes be Vent only so having vent is a great way to get in on those raids.

Do the Intro. It's fast and Easy basically running around the Garmsfoot area talking to some NPC's it should take 5 minuets.

Do learn the lingo... Here is a bit of Assistance on that matter. I am covering the basics ones you will learn more as you go on.

What we say= What we are talking about
    --------------- ------------------------------
Grams = Gramsfoot The Creep home base per say.
GV = Glan Vraig the Freep home base
TA = Tol Ascarnen (it's the keep in the very center of the map)
TA LAWN = The large Grassy area in front of TA it wraps west around the keep.
STAB = This the South TA Bridge.. the bridge south of the TA keep
WTAB = This the Bridge West of the TA keep.
LUGZ = This is the keep south of gramsfoot called Lugazag
DG = Dar-gazag South west of Lugazag where the Relics are kept (don't worry about
what the relics are for now, you'll get there)
OP = Outpost , there are 5 of them .. Freeps and Creeps need to control two of them to get into the
Delving (will get to the delving later on)

The names of the 5 out post are AE (Aradors End) , Isendeep, Plains, River and South (google ettenmores map for their location LOL)

LY/ LC = Is Grimwood Lumber Camp, South of TA
TR = Thirit Rhaw, this is the central part of the map but all the way east.
Isen/ the mine = Is the Isendeep Mine all the way east of Gramsfoot
OC = Orc Camp (Across WTAB)
EC = Elf Camp (Across STAB)
CHODE = Is the land bridge that allows you to walk across the river between OC and TA
Greenie = you! Your basic creep who is rank 3 and below roughly
REZ = REZ circle so LUGZ REZ and TR REZ are the two rez circles

Do Get your MAPS, MAPS, MAPS.....

It's boring, it's not easy but you NEED your maps. So loot every troll, and farm everything.. Bears, Coldfells, norborgs, Hobbits, Dwarves, Men, Elves, Fallen Logs, Saplings, Wood, Eagles...
I can go on and on.... You need this stuff for your maps..

    What are you maps?
OK You don't have a horse and you need to get around the map. Creeps get Maps. How do I get maps you say ? Good Question.

First of all you need to get your 1 minuet map back to gramsfoot. Visit Soldier Falturz in Gramsfoot. He will have the following quest for you to do.
    Get to Grothum Maggot
    Into the Grimwood
    To Tirith Rhaw
    To Tol Ascarnen
    Report to Lugazag
    Repot to Dar-gazag Maggot

Scout all areas to complete NOTE Grothum, Dar-gazag and Lugz you actually need to talk to an NPC ..the other 3 are just scouting...

OK now you have you 1 minuet map.
Work on you other Maps as often as you can. Each Keep: TA, Lugz, TR, LY, and Isendeep have 3 maps each to get. Each area has a Crude Map, a Poor Map and a Good Map, each putting you in a area around the keeps. You can check you deed log for progress on these maps (i.e. Lugazag travel Tier 1 or 2 etc...) After 10 quest for that keep you will get the Crude map. Once you get your crude map you will need to do 15 quest to get your poor map. OK 25 more quest and you have you good map. You will find in Raids leaders like to utilize maps to Ninja Keeps for flanks so if you don't have them you might be left to hoof/ paw it to catch up missing out on DP and Infamy.

    Each map has cool-downs
Crude maps have a 30m cool-down. If you have 2 or 3 crude maps they are on a shared cool-down. so if you use one the others are on cool down
Poor Maps have a 10 min cool-down. Same applies here, they are all on a shared cool down so if you use one poor map the others go on cool down
Good Maps have a 5 min cool-down. They are not shared so you can use Good TA map and then use Good Lugz map right away

I good start is to get your Crude TA map which will allow you map into OC.

While trying to do all this do play .. kill and be killed. Learn your class solo and it's responsibility in Raids.

DO, Get in a RAID when you can. While in a raid the most important thing to do is listen and follow instructions. This will give you the most kills and infamy. Different raid leaders lead in different ways so don't assume you know what you will be doing. If he says target this person do it. If he says push, you push. You will die and hey you might be rezzed... it's all part of the game .. you will learn most classes have their places in Raids and the leaders know how to utilize those classes.

Target Assist- Use it. Open your social panel, click on the Raid tab and check the box on the bottom that says Target Assist. This will put an assist window on the left-ish bottom of your screen.
When in a raid the leader will set up target assistants which will target freeps. You will now be able to just click on the freep on the target assist and Start killing it LOL

Ask for help and you will get it most of the time. Like it here .. join a tribe and have fun..

Want more information go here :

This is a more detailed what to do in the moors.. I am just giving you the basics to start.

Feel free to ask me questions in game, and if I can, I will take you around and try to show you some basics. I am usually up for groups but like my me time as much as the other creep, Hey I need to rank too ..... LOL

    So good luck. /wave

    Re: For the New Creeps

    Great guide!

I would say the most important thing for a new creep to do is the intro and get 1min grams map. If you are new to lotro PvP in general it will help you learn the map and you can look at your class/skills while doing so.

Another very helpful thing is to join creep vent. Not only will in improve your communication but people will get to know you a bit. I guarantee you will get to know the creeps and your class better by hanging around with some people.

Some others may not agree with this next statement but....If there is a raid out that is killing freeps and actually gaining points just join the raid and hold off on gaining maps/DP. As important as those 2 things are you cannot always rely on finding a group to help you rank up. I'm not saying if there is 10 freeps out join a raid but if you could actually progress then join up...

LEARN THE CLASS YOU PLAY! In the link the OP posted there are a few descriptions of what the classes need to do. Find out what you need to do and figure out the most fun and effective way for you to do it.

and until you learn what you are doing THE RAID LEADER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. If he says stop using fire dot then stop using fire dot. No matter how dumb it may seem always listen to the leader.

And I know there are some real idiots that play on creep side sometimes but try not to piss people off. You may piss off one person today and it turns out they make it so you cannot join a raid the next week...

You're being serious on the PvP forums? I personally will not stand for this. Consider this your first and only warning.

Since this kind of sort of relates to what the OP said, I might as well offer a rebuttal to this.

For starters, I am well aware of what people say about me in creep OOC, and while there is some validity to what they are saying, most of the whining that is done is done by greenies because the more skilled creeps know better than to scream like a little girl when they've been killed by a burglar.

Secondly, I quite obviously have a reputation for being a rez camper, which I'm sure is where these statements most likely originated from. The reason being that I do not pick a fight with every person I see spewing out of a rez circle or Grams, I wait for a person who I am fairly confident that I can kill. Most of the time this is a greenie, but only because hoards of ranks 6+ are a lot more difficult to kill than a single straggling person. I will however always pick a fight with a person who is obviously alone, regardless of rank; I enjoy fighting reavers, spiders, and even wargs of any rank as long as tons of crepes don't come swarming at me. You would do the same thing at some point if you played a warg, but I doubt you honestly have the patience to stand still for more than 2 minutes.

Thirdly, most higher ranked crepes have all of their maps, so while they can get back to a fight a lot quicker, greenies have to run there; this isn't really my fault, if you have greenies in your group or give a flying flip about them then maybe consider escorting them. Even if I'm not camping a rez circle it is still fairly obvious which direction they're going to take, which makes them that much easier to kill (and reinforces my last point).

The lesson any greenie reading this should pick up from what I am saying is 1) if you are killed by a burglar, feel free to announce it in OOC, but don't be surprised if they kill you a second time for running in the exact same direction. 2) most people run out of the rez circle the exact same way - directly toward the fight they just came from. If you do not have other people around you, choose a route that is not a straight line back if you can, and if you aren't alone, don't be last. And 3) get your maps as quickly as possible.

Fourthly, I thought I would have killed you and your friends enough times by now to put this talk to rest, but apparently I'll just have to try harder (unless of course you consider yourself yet another greenie wrapped up in my "farmin frenzy," in which case I apologize).

Lol dont flatter yourself... Youve killed me and my friends? Hmm.. Well I hope you can kill a ba on a burg.. Would be real bad if you lost especially when you got the advantage of surprise.. if you want to do real 1v1s against my "friends" then step up and we'll oblige Until then keep farmin the greens... Seems you valhalla boys are great at that lately

Edit: Also, are you saying that all of your friends are exclusively BAs too?

One more Bump for the newbies.

Want more information go here :
    http://www.the-rangers.net/joomla/in...o-monster-play
This is a more detailed what to do in the moors.. I am just giving you the basics to start.

Feel free to ask me questions in game, and if I can, I will take you around and try to show you some basics. I am usually up for groups but like my me time as much as the other creep, Hey I need to rank too ..... LOL

    So good luck. /wave

If alone, don't take the direct path from Point A to Point B. Questing in the Moors produces nothing of value. When soloing, kill creeps of similar rank as you. Chances are they are just as inexperienced at their class as you are (yes, after hitting level 65 you are still inexperienced). Learn where all the creep map points are and use them to your advantage (ie. camp it to gank someone mapping in or avoid it while fleeing from a raid.)

Go out to the Moors. Kill something. Get killed. Go over what went right and what went wrong and make changes accordingly.

The Black Appendage has all the info you need for a guide to creeps. This thread, while informational, is not a complete resource and will get buried after time under other threads.

Don't forget, I speak Russian too even though I only speak and read Spanish as a second language. It's close enough to Russian though, right? You ladies are about 6 months behind on that joke. The only reason you have that website is when I linked it last fall in the forums. All I can say is I hope that poor guy isn't getting a bunch of whining from you like I get from you here.

yeah there are some people that come to the forums for good banter to kinda stir the pot and there are others that come here to provoke people into posting stuff just so they can report them. Be careful

BTW I do beleive I watch megus leave the moors after taking 1 or 2 deaths, but wait he had other things to do.

Megus if this is true you need help man. You should be proud of your heritage. Embrace it dude. The next time you are in the moors and I see you out there I am going to it next to you for a song.

When I die, I think to myself, "What would Rashkosh do?" So I go sit afk in GV for 30 minutes and do my hair.

Actually, you've never seen me leave after taking one or two deaths because I don't. If it's 10pm, I'm logging. If it's 10:30 and a weekend night, I'm probably getting ready for a raid. Otherwise you just aren't looking hard enough. Just because you don't see me at the EC/OC fights doesn't mean I'm not out. I netted 2k in 30 minutes killing people in and around OPs yesterday evening and not just greenies either. Picked off a rank 9 BA and made a rank 7 warg run.

Valhalla raids are much more interesting when Megus is along, as he insists that everyone keep a liter of vodka nearby for a "13th man" boost and also when he starts singing songs in Russian, probably after too much inspiration from that 13th raider. And if he gets the kb on the boss, he will start to insist that his proper title is Tsar Megus.

Or, if I go way back in time, when he and Dodik would argue who has the prettiest women, Belarus or Russia? Or when they recommend favorite resorts on the Black Sea. Or trade borscht recipes.

So I don't know, is that our Megus in the videos? You be the judge.
