Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
Well, it was good to get out on Andarne; again!
I thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was nice to hear the opinions of all, and share my own. Aside from the bashing I got from a few, but that's been sorted. @Khalis; thanks for setting old things to rest, my friend.
Looking forward to the next one!Andarne Glingaeron, "Baingol", o Lothlórien.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
I found the event to be quite pleasant at times and for the most part people acted in a mature manner. It made my head hurt by the end of it, and it was a pain to meet and greet everyone with all the chat occuring.
Thanks for organising, Mirineth!

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
It was a pleasure to see so many RPers together again, both elves and others!
It think it would be a nice thing to have councils like this now and then: it gives RPers another good opportunity to meet and adress topics on a level and scale that is perhaps not suitable for the more festivity-orientated HoF?
And, of course, it would hopefully act as a common ground for more community-wide plots, and make more people involved on a bigger scale, which I think would be a welcome sight.
Thank you Mirineth, for arranging this! It was a very nice initative.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
This was a fun event, I enjoyed seeing everyone who attended and who had something to say. Unfortunately we had planned the first testing of music by Andúnië (new Elven music group) down at the pavilion in Celondim just an hour after the meeting started so three of us had to leave.
I logged the initial meeting so will clean up the log and post it. Where are the screenshots?

HUZZAAH I feel all warm 'n fuzzy inside I never thought SO MANY would come. thanks all for coming!!!
I never expected the majority to be THIS polite and civilized in character!!! I had a feeling everybody wanted this to work. Great stuff! Really very interesting.
In a month or so I'll call for a follow up, and for a new location I'm thinking of the ceremonial stone circle in Rivendell close to the auction house, or the circle in Celondim where the Shades had their concert.
Anyone got screenies? I'm at work so mine are out of reachCymaru http://laurelinarchives.org/profile/100

Great attendance! I tried to get a screenie of every speaker but I think I might have missed one or two.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
I took a lot of screenies which i will add later when back at home. The event was interesting to say the least. The many varied characters and kinships there was very nice to see, and i feel they enhanced the event organised by Mirinenth. There was a balance personalities for and against the cause so to speak which is whats needed at such an event. Its no good everyone agreeing!
I was surprised to see those of House Vanimar remain so silent for the entire period, and Andarne prompted some unplanned RP by myself with Khalis.
I am not sure if there was an outcome, or whether anything was agreed but from our perspective we did get a chance to reinforce ties with our friends and allies of the Loth I Lonnath, the Guardians of the West. Thankyou Durthand.
I am wondering what others took away from the Council in character? Did they consider it a positive or negative event?Khalis - Elven Warder & Captain in the Warband of Imladris

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
Glad you are so happy with the result of last night Cym! Was an amazing gathering and very well behaved. I was expecting some kind of strife after all the gossip, but it never came to that. Here are my screenshots:

Mirineth welcomes the gathered elves and gives a brief explanation of the nature of the council.

Nimlith speaks to the elves.

Silent guardians watch over the elven council as Durthand speaks.

Khalis offers the help of the Warband of Imladris to Dagorwulf after having heard his father's plea.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
@Khalis I think In Character many would feel this council to be very inconclusive. Yet, since a few representatives had the opportunity to explain their motives I think the IC effect is that the kinships now know better where to look for friends and allies! The OOC effect no doubt the same

About Vanimar: they decided to send observers only since they are IC-ly far away at the moment.

Love the Screenshots, Duissane!
Oh, I can certainly say that it has eased Andarne's mind that he could say what he did. Especially with the hope that, given his warning, lives could be saved from the cruel Orcs.
Positive. It allowed us, as a proper council, to convene and each give our take on the situation. While I'm glad that we didn't decide "Let's go to war!" because of obvious Lore-reasons, it was a nice reprieve from the Hûd in Eledhrim's cheeriness (not that I don't enjoy it, but change is always welcome!). We finally got a more important note onto the table; that war is coming, and the Elves wonder what their place is in it.
The RP with Khalis was, while unplanned, a good way to finally set some old things to rest. I look forward to RP'ing with him, and his, in the future.
Nimlith, if possible; could you send me a chat-log, please?Andarne Glingaeron, "Baingol", o Lothlórien.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
Nimlith thought the event served only to underline what we already know: the Elves are split, each fighting the war in their way and protecting what they personally think important. Few actually consider alliances, and if they do, then only with select companies or individuals and not the Free Peoples as a whole.
She expected little decision or action to come of the talk, and she was not disappointed. Still, it was good to see that others are willing to come forward and put old grudges to rest, and many now consider at least Men allies again. Even an old Elf can change his mind, and that is always a good thing to behold.Nimlith of Greenwood, Spirit-talker

I'm glad too, I'm not a really huge defender of lore at little scale, but I defend the lore at a huge scale...
I had chatbug issues 2 times, and I had to relog two times, I had to finish something I had in mind before I leave for holidays so I missed Galvathalions speech, (thank you for reproduce it later Galva
), I had again chatbug issues and then, I had to split in 2 for another event I had, so I couldn't be there in the final part; plus I arrived late becasue I was returning from the summerhouse.
In the end I couldn't enjoy the event as I would like.
Galvathalion, really an excelent speech, my congratulations, I'm just sorry I missed it.
Nimlith if you have the chatlog, could you send it please ?

Yes that was very surprising !
I felt moved to reply playing Khalis after the fellow finished his passionate dialogue. Men should not have to stand alone.
I think this was one of things that was agreed by the majority, and it will be interesting to see where the individuals take this in the future with respect to their roleplay.Last edited by Khalis_Laurelin; Jul 15 2011 at 06:01 AM.

Dagorwulf speaking was a nice, surprising touch added to the event. I'm glad he was allowed to speak. Thanks for taking the initiative, Dagorwulf!
I've posted some screenshots on Laurelin Archives of the event. Sadly I did not log the chat, but I'm sure others have it available.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
A selection of some of the images that i took during the event.

Lady Mirineth makes her opening statement to the Elves gathered to hear council. The elves have ridden far and wide to attend and listen to the words each will speak.

Lady Nimlith speaks to those gathered, she speaks of tolerance from all and a unification of all of the free peoples to stand and be counted in the coming years.

The words of Lady Nimlith do not sit well with all those in the Warband. The Warband have had very limited contact with the small folk of the shire and indeed the sons of Durin.
But there seemed a consensus that the race of elves should stand alongside menkind as they once did in the past. Something which forms the very foundation of the beliefs of the Warband and the Lord of Imladris.

A son of Rohan comes before the Council to speak. His words spoken with passion and merit, so much so that after he has concluded reading from his letter Khalis of the Warband steps forward to honour the man.Khalis - Elven Warder & Captain in the Warband of Imladris

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
This was a well-tended and polite roleplay event with many, many members of the Elven community, some I had never seen before. I really enjoyed myself getting to know so many others and see good roleplay come of it. Very refreshing. Unfortunately, this morning, I found that my name was reported and now I have the non-lore appropriate name of Urnratren. Please, whom ever reported me, contact me by PM or in game so we can have a discussion.

Re: Blue Mountains Council Elf Roleplay Event Thursday July 14
The naming policy is good to have and all, but I have to question the names that the GMs assign. I've known a few people who have had lore-appropriate names and have had their named changed just like this, to something silly. It's ridiculous what your character's name got changed to. This issue needs to be addressed.
I wonder since my alt has a Quenya name, will she get a name change? =/

Is very special too see so many dedicated Role-players gathered together as elf's. Is doomed to be a success!

Would have been interesting to attend, but RL had different plans for me on Thursday!

My thanks to Durthand for stepping up and representing our kinship - and well done everyone! I heard the speeches were awesome! A shame I missed it - would have liked to hear Galvathalion's address in particular!

It was a great event and as a new person to roleplaying it was nice to be able to see some more experienced roleplayers in action. I hope that I can attend to these events in the future.
