Re: Error: An error occurred while processing your request. We apologize for the inco
That's what 'beta' means. It means the site isn't finished and doesn't work right yet.
And will never be. It doesn't matter how much we post in here, how many tickets we raise, nothing - nothing will ever happen.

Re: Error: An error occurred while processing your request. We apologize for the inco
I filed a ticket ... response was to "follow the advice on the forum" ie leave your kinship, which I've been in for 4.5 years, where most of my in game friends are... guess that's how much Turbine respect kinships, given we're waiting over 3 years for the "Month of the Kinship" that's no surprise
Re: Error: An error occurred while processing your request. We apologize for the inco
It's very weird, since the migration i cannot see my own characters in mylotro or my character settings, but my kinship uses a page where you can see your characters which extracts data from mylotro. In there i can see my characters just fine with all updated stats. So the issue is with the website and not the data from in the game.

It's because the data doesn't contain Kinship information, that's where things go wrong. Those using the data have simply made sure their site works even on characters without Kinship info. MyLotro can't handle it and 'crashes' or pretends the character doesn't exist.

But only on kinships which have been around for a long time. Newly formed kinships don't have this problem.
Why they can't perform some kind of pass on the data so that the kinship field for older kins matches the format/structure for newly created kins is beyond me. I'm not trying to be funny when I honestly say I'd love to have some proper explanation of the problem and why it can't be fixed - clearly it must be something major.

Months ago I created a Ticket to support me since I can’t access my backend again (Blog-Admin).
Time to add my voice in this thread. I've spend much time in my blog and anything worked very well for months.
I didn’t read trough any post here but I stumbled over the above statement.
Did anyone meantime have that *** fixed by the support ?
Or is the whole MyLotroBlogFeature indeed something we definitely have to decommission in our heads ?
It once worked - imagine it, done
and for no clear reason its just no more working - imagine it, gone

And the worst thing is, when I am logged in and only then, I can't access to the new /rewards page to refer my friends for playing LoTRO. So I can't get the new steed and Turbine won't get new players. Bad.
C'mon Turbine, it can't be THAT hard to fix this issue!!! It only happens to European characters that are members of kinships created before LOTRO went free to play.
Why you are doing nothing about it???? Do you have an idea how annoyed we are? We are paying customers and we deserve proper attention!
It would be nice if we at least get some kind of explanation about why would have to leave our kinship and start a new one..
If I have a good reason I can inform my kinmembers why we have to start a new kinship on the side with a few toons..
Then wait until we've gained rank 7 again so we can buy a kinhouse..
Then grab all the decorations and chest contents from the old kinhouse..
Sell the kinship house then quickly log to the other kin and buy the just opened up kinhouse..
Put all the decorations back..
And then transfer all the remaining toons over to the new kinship..
It seems a bit rubbish if this has to be done.. but if there's a good reason people might just want to take the time..
I've learned to live with my page not being able to show, it's not something I particularly like, and truth be told I think it stinks that we Eurotrash get left in the trashbin here in regards to site functionality, but oh well.
I still love the game, and that works at least...
But it seems to me the problems on my.lotro.com are getting worse:
I used to get the unable to error.... yet I could click My Blog and the others and get sort of around it.
No more: If I try to click the browser shuts down the site with an error of too many redirects... huh? how can it get even MORE broken???
They can't fix the bugs in the game, what makes you think that bugs in the website have any importance?
*sigh* I am bitter about this, I know.

Maybe if we started posting "inappropriate" stuff into the thread it would at least get read by a moderator.
Or more likely, we'd get quietly banned.

I have sorta given up on kinships / blogs / pvp / charactor sheets etc. But it is really annoying that we cant get rewards for introductions -
You would think it is in turbines intrest to fix the base problem as we have no incentive to hook more players .. Maybe if they realise its a cash thing they may fix the data structure error in kinships .
Getting this error on the home tab too - I'm guessing from the long thread it's still a long way from being resolved?

So, we finally have some news on this front. Later this week, the web development team is deploying a change to the website that may alleviate some of these problems for some of the affected users.
Let's go over what that means, so we don't get everyone's hopes up. This change will most likely NOT fix everyone. However, it is meant to tackle the following grouped issues:
-- Seeing "An error occurred" on certain character profiles, but not others.
-- Seeing "An error occurred" on your kinship pages.
-- Seeing "an error occurred" on your "My Character Preferences" page.
These issues are being specifically experienced by former Codemasters players who are in kinships that migrated from the old EU servers to the new Global Service. You can tell if you are affected by this bug if you leave your kinship and suddenly have myLOTRO working for you.
Here's what this fix will do:
-- You will no longer see "an error occurred" on your character profile.
-- You will no longer see "an error occurred" on your character preferences.
Here's what will still be unchanged:
-- Your kinship pages will continue to remain unavailable for those transferred Kinships.
This change should remove a good deal of the blocks that players may experience when attempting to view or use characters here on myLOTRO. However, there may be additional underlying issues that we may not be able to identify until this change is in place.
So, keep an eye out later this week everyone, and please report any of your findings here, to this thread. Thank you!

Thanks for the info, Celestrata! I'm really looking forward to this change, since my main characters are affected (and yes, all of my characters that don't work are in the same kin, the ones that are in smaller kins or kinless work fine already) as well as my character preferences page.
It took some time to fix this (partly), but it is really appreciated.
EDIT: Did you already apply the patch? It's working for me now.
As of 20 minutes ago, the patch has been applied to the website.
Please let us know if anything has changed.

I'm finally able to access my character settings again, and the pages of those characters that gave an error before. The only thing missing is a mention of the kinship name on the character pages of those characters that gave the error before, but that's not something I'm worried about .

There's a lot of other things that aren't showing up, such as many item icons and/or tooltips from several latest updates. For example pieces from the Great River update aren't visible at all in character details. None of them, apparently. This means the fixes were mostly pointless from my ponit of view: As a player who has maxed all crafts, I'd really like to be able to see actual details of my characters' gear to be able to easily compare the current gear versus what I'm able to craft. Missing a skirmish name is very minor indeed.
As you can probably guess, I'm still quite disappointed with the overall state of such an official site. Even the Interactive Map in lorebook is very harshly out-of-date. It has never been updated to show Rise of Isengard areas or the Great River. Latest update seems to be Enedwaith - and I can't even zoom in there to take a closer look, as the map only complains about data not being found when you click the zoom in button. Makes you wonder why there even is a map, when it's not working right, nor being updated as the playable areas expand.
I'm still guessing it's just way too big a bite for Turbine to manage this site as a whole. Fixing this much is a good start, but at this rate, it'll take another 20 years to make it decent. What was that? Did I hear you thinking how pointless that time frame sounds...?

Unfortunately this fix did nothing for me. Let me start by saying that I, as to my knowledge, did not come from Codemasters. I've started a character on Nimrodel, which is, to my knowledge, not an old European server. I did get into a kinship which to my knowledge did NOT transfer from a European server. I have tested to see if the problems would clear by leaving that said kin, but it didn't. So, just to be sure, here's a complete overview of the current status:
1. Here's a complete list of all things that were wrong in the past and are still now. This has been submitted as a ticket as well per Sapience's Request on October 4th, 2011. On October 10th, 2011, I got the now well-known message that my ticket has been sent to the web development team, blah, blah, blah. never got any response after that.
A few additions/changes (still not working) to the above list:
A. Accessing My Profile page from top bar now gives me a page telling me there's a maintenance.
B. Accessing My Profile page from the link behind my name in the forum post now gives me a screwed up character list.
C: Logging out now gives me a maintenance page. And the result: I'm not being logged out so I can never log in with another account on the site. Sometimes it does indeed log me out, so it... varies.
D. My first character is still in the kin she was in October 2011. Sheherezi (second character) has since then joined a kin.
can see my characters settings: fail
can see my blog: fail
can access blog admin: check
can see other profiles: varies
can see forum settings: check.
Signature is still not being updated correctly. My character level is good, the rest is non-existent in the signature, while Sheherezi is a Westfold Master Cook and Westfold Master Farmer.
I keep getting the same "Error: An error occurred while processing your request. We apologize for the inconvenience." And I have tried every browser on earth... please, fix it
