Leaves Of Laurelin started out on Landroval as a roleplaying kinship. Once the EU servers added to the mix we moved to the Laurelin server as well. On this server we are a haven for our main group of roleplayers over on Landroval and roleplayers new to the server from the US. Most of our numbers are Elves but we have an occasional younger race who has joined us.

Kinship website: Leaves Of Laurelin a medium roleplay kinship. On Landroval we put on the Walk to Rivendell event and several other events such as horse races and traveling story-tellers.

We do not have a kinship house on Laurelin due to our wandering ways. To join, post on our website of your interest and mention you are on the Laurelin server. You will be contacted in game.

If you are interested in the music system you will find most of our Elven roleplayers are members of Andúnië the Laurelin Elven Music Society. We attend HOF and Wilderness events.

Friends of Old

A Rank 10 kinship, Friends of Old have been playing on Laurelin since the launch of LOTRO.

We're a small community of players, focused mainly on helping each other out with quests and equipment and having a good social experience together. We have a kin hall, a kin forum (www.friendsofold.freeforums.org), and are planning more events in the near future. Members can expect the support of our crafters in equipping their characters for a life of adventure and exploration throughout Middle Earth.

Friends of Old is primarily Elven in nature, but we are open to all races, levels and classes. We prefer roleplay in Say, but kin chat is OOC and we welcome roleplayers of all abilities, whether you're an expert or just looking to give RP a try.

At the moment we're looking to boost our membership whilst keeping our kin small and maintaining a community spirit.

Makeup: We are Hobbit themed but have Recruits from all the Free Peoples. We have members from both sides of the level scale but most are middling 30ish. It's all about the Journey, not how fast you arrive.

Style: We are a mature medium to heavy RP but low obligation. Drama (outside of RP of course) only causes stress and annoyance. We have enough of that in our daily lives and dont need it in our fantasy downtime. If you're interested in a low stress guild with a Shire's pace then The Out of Bounders might be for you!!

We represent an elven-people, living far away in the Uttermost South of the world. Our RP is concentrated in the Old Forest, though we are also present within Rivendell in the form of a travelling company.
Our Kin is parted into castes that oblige many rules and traditions. The Warriors are currently our leading caste, with our King Odhir and Queen Tathsume on the head of the council. Our scholars teach us of wisdom and forgotten lore, while the Labourers form many things of beauty, such as our cities Tie'Iama, Kei Urdhasa or Kinn-Sala.

If you are interested in something new and would like to seek us out, so come forth with your own Kinn-Lai and we shall welcome you!

Please note that any bashing against us will not be tolerated. We merely seek to fill in the voids of Middle-earth left by Tolkien and create more out of what he has left us.

Nice idea to keep a list of all the kins on this server. Very helpful.It would be better if it was possible to make the list like a table where someone could find some details of the kins.

Trying to explain ^^, in that table should be the kinship name, races allowed, and some info about what the kinship do (from 1 to 5 , 1 lowest), like
RP 5
Raid 1
Events (organized or partecipatin) 3
Lore 4
and so on... maybe a general guild purpose (escort, trading, ecc).
So to have some info at a glance and making comparison will be simple specially for people lookin for kinships.

There is always the worry that it will become too cluttered if too much information is put up.

There was some discussion when we were Codemasters about what to put in, the compromise I reached was to link each listed kin to their entry on the thread. Kinships could then put any extra detail there. There are also the individual websites too of course.

Anyhow, I'm always glad to consider any suggestions people have and if there is a general feeling that it would be useful to put something in/add something, am happy to do so.

What are we?

We're a hobbit-only kinship from Laurelin. Our mission is to create a social environment
where you can both enjoy roleplaying and have fun with questing. We're part of
Eldariant Alliance which consists currently of five roleplaying kinship. We share a chat
channel and forums with the alliance so by joining us you'll be a part of a larger group.

What are we looking for?

We're recruiting players who are interested to roleplay as a hobbit. Players who have
no experience of roleplaying are welcome too. We'll happily teach you how to enjoy it!

The Lost Companions

TLC are one of the oldest Kinships on the server, dating back to shortly after the game was released in 2007. Our primary emphasis is on enjoyment of the game in all its aspects, crafting, questing, endgame, raiding and most especially the social interaction between our members. We may never hold the speed record for Draigoch, or claim server firsts*, but our events will be full of banter, friendly abuse, philosophy and general discussion of just about anything except what we are supposed to be working on.

We are an exclusively adult kinship, with members spread across Europe and the United States and although small, we have members from all walks of life. Our members include the employed, the unemployed, members of Armed Forces and a pack rat grandmother (with two granddaughters) who always has what you need and never has any inventory space.

I would have to describe TLC as a very odd collection of individuals, all with various dysfunctions, which adds to the fun. One of us is even from Slough (how awful!).

Though small, those we have are very active and delight in helping one another to achieve the various aims, particularly to ensure that everyone has at least one character ready for endgame, crafting gear, providing advice and experience as required. We think it's important that everyone (who wants to!) can participate in as much content as possible and so long as people are willing to accept help, take advice and learn, we are in no way elitist or exclusive. Then again, we do expect people to be capable of a bit of self-help. Doing the easy stuff as required, taking assistance with the more difficult things.

What is of primary importance to us, is that all our members can get along and have fun together. Like all friends we have the occasional argument and sometimes get angry with one another, but we generally get past it. With all the banter it's best if you don't have too thin a skin and can give as good as you get.

When it comes to endgame, we have many friends outside the kin so are never short of people to fill a raid or a skirmish.

We are therefore looking for likeminded people who want to enjoy the social side. Yes, we play LotRO and that's why we get together, but we're at least 50% social club. We get together on our own teamspeak server which is often visited by people who don't even play, but just pop in to say hello and have a chat. Thus the people we would recruit are the people we meet who just have a fun time hanging with us.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, you can talk to anyone you see wearing The Lost Companions tag. We don't have any particular heirarchy, every member is an officer and anyone we recruit, once we've got to know them will be the same. We'll likely invite you to come and play with us for a bit and if you like us and we like you, you'll get an invite.

Like most kinships of this age, we do of course have a kinhouse full of horrible offcuts of defeated monsters and a website for our members (and friends) where we organise our events.

* Well, actually, I'm pretty sure I was first to crossbreed Wizard's Fire pipeweed on our server, big claim to fame huh? Wooo!

I'd like to add the Laiquendi Order to the list. We're one of the oldest established kinships on the server, though relatively quiet at the moment. We are elven-only but we do have good relationships with Periannath and Edain kinships and have even been know to tolerate Naugrim.

We are a few months old kinship, recruiting RP members who are willing to incorporate their biographies into the lore. The main story of our kinship is based on the Dúnadan heritage of the North (e.g. Kingdom of Arnor), but we also accept people from all other races (including Dwarves, yes!) because the leader of the Protectors originates from Dale where he was allied to the Dwarves prior to his coming to Eriador.

Below is our general recruitment post. We welcome applications from all levels, all classes and all races. We are an 18yrs+ kindred.

Greetings, Travellers and Defenders of Middle-Earth! The Celestial Dawn Kindred seeks your aid and support in the war against the Enemy and his servants. In return we offer our aid, support and friendship! Join us now as we heed the call and stand fast against the marauding armies of Mordor and the White Hand!

We are a casual, fun kin of all classes, races and levels. What we value above all else is friendship, kindness and trust. People log in as and when they choose. There are no penalties for missing kin meetings or events. We only ask that people volunteer to help others in the kin. In turn, you will be pleasantly surprised to see that this help is always reciprocated. It means that when we do run instances the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed with everyone having a good time.


We have many crafters among us who are happy to help with developing your skills and can offer help with equipment, materials and learning. We have a crafting night every Tuesday where members can work together to provide the kindred with the items they need and to support each other.

We are not a hardcore skirmish/raid kin, but do organise instance/skirmish runs as well as support each other with difficult quests and areas. We enjoy patrolling together as and when it is needed. Wednesday night is a dedicated kin night where members are encouraged to prioritise helping their fellow kindred.

We also roleplay whenever the mood takes us, from in depth character development to just dancing, drinking and playing music in the Pony. The only roleplay requirement is the Oathing Ceremony to become a full kinmember. This ceremony takes place at our weekly kindred meetings at our kin house on a Monday evening.

If you are a solo player needing a bit of help with harder or fellowship quest, or like social play with group patrols and area questing, or just like to craft and share the fruits of your labours and get help in return, you are welcome to travel, party, and craft with us.

We have members from a cross section of ages and nationalities with recruitment restricted to the 18yrs+ player. We strive to be a multi-national kin and have members both from the EU and NA. There is no minimum logon requirement, you can live in Middle-Earth, or just come for a visit once in a while. It is the fun and friendships you will make within the kin that matters.
