The Pilgrimage to Khazad-Dûm is a RP-event open to all dwarves across the server. Starting at the Walls of Moria, we travel through the halls beneath the Misty Mountains, visiting the many wonders and places of importance, crafted by the dwarves in ages past. In-character, it is a great oppurtunity for some dwarf-only roleplay. Out-of-character, it works as a history lesson of Moria, and how what we see in-game relates to the dwarven race, and to Tolkien's writings.
Last pilgrimage, the third of it's kind, occured the 27th May. Here's a video from the journey.
Be on the lookout for the next pilgrimage (which will be announced in this thread), for there will be more, each one with a different route from the earlier.
Great event, my little Dwarf alt attended twice. Great Dwarven history lessons and good fun during the tour. Ending is always spectacular (not saying not to spoil future events).
Highly recommended Dwarf only RP event.

Vingi Aermir, Master of The Rangers, a roleplaying kinship on [EN-RP] Laurelin since 2008.
Kind of a stupid question: Is there an unofficial level requirement for safety reasons?
Not really, the only restriction is being able to enter Moria (at some points, we have visited locations like the Heart of Fire, which is restriced by the Epics, but at such times I've always had a "fail-safe" for those that could not enter, so that they did not miss out on the rest of the pilgrimage). I think during the three pilgrimages I've hosted, we've had everything from high 40s/early 50s (Moria becomes available at 45) to 65 along for the journey.
Oh, and a note before anyone asks; The first pilgrimage was open to all races, but every pilgrimage past that have been dwarf-only...just so no one have to wonder why I call it a dwarf-only event, but humans and elves show up in the above screenshots.
The time has come for another Pilgrimage to our halls of old, to Khazad-Dûm. The date has been set for the 19th of August (start-time will be given at a later date).
Contrary to how it has been done earlier, this time we will begin at the East-Gate, rather than the West-Gate. This being the original entrance to Khazad-Dûm, I thought it fitting to begin there, even just this once. I will look into ways of helping lower-level characters, who have not yet gotten through Khazad-Dûm in it's entirety, to join us by the East-Gate.
There will also be one or two events prior to the Pilgrimage itself, that will act as build-up towards it; Where we will search for ancient lore, or maps, that could help us during the Pilgrimage. That such things would still exist might be a long-shot, but it never hurts trying.
Details will be posted here as we draw closer to the 19th, so keep your eyes open.
The Library of Zugrugund // August 13, 3PM servertime
During their years in exile after the coming of the Dragon, the followers of Thrór settled for a time in the northern reaches of Dunland. Though they did not stay there for long, still signs remains of the time they spent in the valleys on the western edges of the Misty Mountains. Atop a tall peak of the Misty Mountains lies a great library, inhabited only by an old dwarf and his caretaker. What mysteries, and what secrets, does this library possess? What unforgotten lore may still be found among it's many bookshelves? What chance is there, of finding records of Khazad-Dûm?
---
OOC: This is a pre-event before the Fourth Pilgrimage to Khazad-Dûm. The plan is that during the event, we will be searching for any kind of lore that may tell us more about the grand halls of Khazad-Dûm, if such lore is still to be found. We will enter the library of Zugrugund, atop Nár's Peak in Enedwaith, and see what secrets we can find within.
This event will be one of storytelling. While we do have an agenda - namely trying to find anything that tells us about Khazad-Dûm - the event will feature little rail-roading, instead giving a lot of room for those present to dictate what will happen, and that anyone who wishes to share a story, or a song, that they found in the bookshelves of Zugrugund, may do so; Among the many records of this ancient library, surely some great stories from the elder days can be found?
This event will take place on the 13th of August, at 3pm servertime; We will gather at Harndirion, and from there, we will make our way to the library. For those dwarves that have yet to visit Enedwaith, or are under-levelled for the region, a gathering beforehand could be arranged, to escort you to Harndirion, if the interest is big enough.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask; Either here, through a PM, or by contacting Graindim, Grundim, Grurim, Grarim, or Frarim, in-game.
Though we did not find any old lore of Khazad-Dûm (eh, it was a longshot anyway), we found old maps, books, tomes and records of interest in the old library, and plenty of good storytelling was had.

This friday, the 19th of August, it is time for the Fourth Pilgrimage to Khazad-Dûm. We will gather at 3pm servertime at the East-Gate.
The time has come to return to Khazad-Dûm, the halls of our fathers, to marvel at the wonders they crafted and to gaze upon the grand halls they delved in ages past. There will be dangers, but the prospect of walking through these halls will make it all worth it.
The Pilgrimage will be held upon the 20:th of March. We will gather at the Walls of Moria, at 3PM servertime.
