Thread: Globallff channel

Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd remind you that there is a global "looking for fellowship" channel,

to join it, type

/joinchannel globallff

you can then use this channel to search for fellowships across Gilrain, everyone who is in the channel will see, regardless of what region they're in, but this'll only work if lots of people know about globallff and use it.

+rep, a great tool for finding groups that'll only get better as more people use it.

Frankly, the channel's a waste of time right now. Too many people using it as a global OOC.

Stick it in a separate tab and check it occasionally, problem solved.

Any of the channels can at times get cluttered with nonsense chat but usually they do what they are supposed to.

using it for OOC helps as well, because it means people will be looking at it more often, although I can understand that it would be annoying.

Ideally, of course, it'd be made into a real channel with proper policing, but that's just wishful thinking.

Great idea with just one issue - you get a group of people using it for inane chit-chat, others get annoyed at all the meaningless (to them) messages and complain then an argument ensues.

Self policing doesn't always seem to work too well, and it's got a hell of a lot worse in the last few months. Still a useful channel though and I haven't quite got the the stage of putting a new person on ignore each time I log on

Good to have a thread like this again.

Please note there is also a GlobalChat and a GlobalTrade channel. Although there aren't that many ppl in it as in GlobalLFF... yet.

By the way, it doesn't matter if you use uppercase letters in the channel name, but it does show when you're using it. So, "/joinchannel GlobalLFF" and "/joinchannel globallff" let you join the same channel.

Usually there are a bit more people in glff.

Erm... I don't know what channel you are joining but GlobalLFF usually has 100+ people in it.

I was talking about globallff instead of GlobalLFF, it seems chat channels aren't Caps sensitive.
