Wow I didn't realise there were so many kins on Gilrain And many more too. I like the idea of writing it all down, so people can see everything it's very informative

There are a few kins on that list that I think have closed their doors completely. I'm not sure if it's nice to delete them, but perhaps use one of your reserve posts to move those kins to a "Resting" status or something to help streamline the main list of kins that actually are in operation?

Just a suggestion, and thanks for keeping this list going!

Seniorita is right as Phoenix is inactive in Lotro as a Kin.

Might be an idea to remove from the general list and maybe list as a subsection of resting in case they return.

Aegian Eagles are inactive aswell...since 2010 or so

I agree that it would be nice to mark kinships, if they are active or not.
But I don't think there is need to move them to another list. Imho simple 'Status: inactive' would be enough. Then we could add to other kins statuses 'recruiting' and 'active but recruitment closed'.

Btw: Guardians of Erebor are now inactive as a kin.

Nice to see that the list is transferred, there seems to be a lot to update though.

The Honourary Shirriffs still exist, but are inactive. Leader is Bankidoc, Bogosi is still officer. This kin will probably not become active again, and can thus be removed from the list.

Dances with Wargs should be added. Leader is Mistaran, successor Skymael, officers Dagastorn, Leonitas, Nalla, Penrodor and Uagen.

I was wondering, the old list was set up in 2008 and has loads and loads of inactive kins on it. Wouldn't it be better to start over with a list of only active kins? We can keep this thread as a historical list then. I realize it's a lot of work to check if all the kins still exist etc. and to keep the list updated, but I think a list with active kins only will be of better use. I offer myself for the job if needed.

I am aware of the many inactive/non-exisiting kins. My plan is to wait and see if the kinship suff on MyLotro is useful for getting some sort of overview of active kins...

As a bit of a noob (and reasonably aged, so maybe my eyes ) the clan members i see about dont seem to be on list eg.riders of the storm , knights of gilrain,the protectors, crimson dawn ... is it just me ?
maybe i just need my tablets .. Nurse..
me old creaky bones have reached lvl 47 (elf hunter) and i am rapidly realising that i need a kin .. well soon ... and a list of active Kins is becoming important.. as i have an elf that doesnt like the dark or wooded areas .. so thanks for this list..

Good to hear you're planning on updating the list.

You can already see now how useful MyLotro is for this purpose if you look at the American servers:

There is a kinship category per server on the Lorebook, but only kins that have created a page for themselves will show up there. For instance, on the Elendilmir page ( http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Category:Elendilmir:All ) you can see there are only 85 kins in there (opposed to already 127 on our small server according to the list of this thread), and you can recognize some missing, like the well-known FireFighters. This will be useful to determine which kins at least are active at the moment MyLotro for EU goes up.

You are also able to search for individual kinship pages (which seem to be created automatically once they will have MyLotro for EU fixed), where you can check their members and their latest activity (i.e. completing deeds). This will be reasonably useful in determining if a kin is still active.

You will have to check this out for each of the 127 kins of your list individually, though, if you want to stick to the current list as base.

Pretty sure you can list the Dark Side as inactive too - most of the leaders have moved server anyways

Aegean Eagles are now at snowbourn server. our kinship in gilrain is inactive but still exists. we dont take anymore recruits to Gilrain server since we transfered.

So i think its better to take it off th list.(you decide what to do)
