Discussion: Hope & Glory

Hope & Glory was established in June 2007, and is one of the largest and most successful kins on Gilrain; having achieved a range of server, EU and World firsts in the Rift, Helegrod, Dar Nargubud, The Watcher, Barad Guldur, and Ost Dunoth.

We are also active in the Ettenmoors, with our kin-only creep tribe, The Gramsfoot Lawn Tennis Club, and many of our players have personal PVP server and EU firsts.

However, whilst we love striding to complete the next challenge, we make sure we take time to actually enjoy the game and the people we play alongside with, by staging social events - both in game (we have a few kareoke and pub quiz masters) and in real life. We've enjoyed trips to Prague, London, Cardiff, Nottingham and Amsterdam so far!

We're an 18+, international kin, and recruit based entirely on personality, rather than class, level or skill. Despite our successes, we remain fiercely anti-elitist and believe in equal raid and loot opportunities. Anyone is welcome to apply to join us at www.hopeandgloryonline.com.

Hope & Glory is not just a kin, but a gaming community. Our members also play WoW (on Ravencrest), and we're expanding to include SWTOR once that's released. Members are free to move across the games within our community, and have the benefit of always having a place online amongst friends that they can call home.

A new update for August 2011!

After four years of leading Hope & Glory in both Lotro and WoW, I've announced that I'm stepping down from leadership.

After a lot of discussion, I've split my responsibilities between the officers who will be taking on various different roles across our online gaming community, and at their request, taken on the title of "Founder"*.

As of August, we're also pleased to announce two new officers joining us; Finalztraw and Lexray.

The new leadership structure reads as follows:

SWTOR Leader: Seyanne

Zandras is also now heading up The Gramsfoot Lawn Tennis Club

*I was one of the founding officers of H&G, but not the actual person that bought the kin charter!

A quick update!

Hope and Glory has now officially expanded into SW:TOR, we are playing on the server Niman (PvP) as Empire. Meanwhile in Middle-Earth, the assault on Orthanc has begun

There's been some movement in H&G:

As of Monday 20th Feb, I decided to leave H&G.
Holbrand, Skiranath, Artim, Seyanne, Belletti and Finalztraw also left.
Balbowise and Shenanigans stepped down from their Officer roles, with Shen departing from gaming for the time being.

No dramas, no excitement... it was simply the right time to move on.

Heins remains leader of Hope & Glory in Lotro and continues to do an utterly fantastic job.

Seeing that Senorita posted the leaving of several officers within our community, the remaining officers thought it would be best to update the list of officers within the Hope and Glory Community:

Hope and Glory is a community with over 200 members and active in LotRO, WoW and SW:TOR.

Thank you Cara. Our future is still shining as ever ;-)

We still have over 100 active members in our community and are still doing Draigoch twice a week, complete Orthanc raid weekly and retro raids once a week.
