Riddles in the Dark downed Gortheron t2 challenge tonight..
I wish to thank all kinmates for being there for many nights and our leader Alydariel for pointing us the right way.
Divine Retribution got our first full T1 clear last night. Was pretty awesome. Did fear T1 for only our second time, then got Ivar and Gorth first time T1. Got to say, both Ivar and Gorth T1 were exceptionally easy, it was quite surprising. Guess we're gonna get spanked in T2!
Also, have to say, Gorth T1 has been my favourite fight so far in OD. We thought we'd just take a peek after Ivar and do a suicide run as it was really late, but without any tactics, explanations and stuff we still did it.

Nine Worlds did Gortheron T2 HM tonight. Unfortunately, I didn't get any screenshot when text appeared on screen (too busy ninja kb'ing ), but you can check the chat.

Big grats to Riddles and NW on Gorth and to EZ0 on Wound, very good job.
We have been slacking in channel for a week or two but got to work on Gorth last week, slowly making progress but it's a nasty fight, will get to work on Fear as well I believe, let's see how it goes

Clearing Ost Dunhoth has indeed been lots of fun, if only the loot was as good as The Rift loot was, then it would be on the same level if not better. Great raid!
Good luck to everyone else on the rest of the challenges, Snowbourn is doing good compared to other servers.
Huge Congrats Riddles and Nine Worlds a great feit defeating the content. I'll make some time to update this thread as I know my own kin is kicking my bum to do so .
Any other kills people post and hopefully I'll get it done soon as I need to post some Server Event stuff up too
I use Fraps for recording the raw video material, then the edit and encoding process is done with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.
The format I encode to is Windows Media Video v. 9.0 in 8000Kbit/sec which puts a 15 min video file around 1GB which well within the the Youtube limits.
For audio mastering I use Audacity 1.3 and for raw video file combination good old Virtuadub x64

I used x264 codec with a bitrate of 7000, rendering in multipass templates with x264 first pass first, and then x264 nth pass as an overwriting file of the first pass. It's ok quality, but could be much better if you ask me. File was around 750 mb.
Audio uncompressed, cba with that - I can't hear a difference anyways and always struggled to get audiocodecs to work properly.
Guess the quality between yours and my video lies in 720p vs 1080p ^^
Good job NW people ! I couldn't help chuckling at the two minstrels in that video with their giant Ivar shields, although as a minstrel with one, I shouldn't really
They visually reminded me of the Shadoks, a French cartoon of the 70's playing with the absurd. Some of the shadoks' catch phrases are kinda pertinent here too !
Trying over and over again eventually leads to success. Thus: the more one fails, the higher the chance of success
Why do it the easy way when you can do it the hard way?

Aye I second Eq's comment on a job well done guys, nice to see he is going down in challenge mode too on Snowy, I hope we will get to work on it soon as well, but for now I assume we are focusing on getting NM on farm status, then eventually will get to work on it, allthough RoI is just around the corner so time is running short. A bit sad actually, OD never really seemed to become a legendary raid like The Rift and BG to a certain extent becamse in their day(s) as we will have such a short time with OD as the main raid, ohh well.
Back on topic, yes I think you are correct, the encoding directly to H.264 is a good option, I chose Windows Media v.9 mostly because nVidia's CUDA seems to produces a quicker result in terms of the encoding, but I might look into a pure H.264 process when making our disease video (which other channel members have asked me to get done , yes yes Eq I will ok!) but as you pointed out, it seems that your game resolution is around 1320x720 or at least that's how it appears to me, so your raw video will be of a lower quality than what I usually record in.
I play the game in 1920x1080 AAx8, allthough the AA produces very marginal results once up in full HD resolutions, so you don't really have to go beyond x2 I would say to retain a decent picture, but the resolution is key to keeping details intact, in particular when you start compressing the file for web publication, if your setup can't handle LOTRO @ 1920x1080 I would say stick to what you got, it still looks pretty awesome to me.

Yeah it might be the resolution which reduces quality for me, seeing I'm running 1280x1024 but the video itself is 1.280x780 without maintaining the aspect ratio. I tried using my ingame resolution for rendering, but it looked really ugly with the black borders on YouTube, so I decided the keep a resolution that would avoid that.
