Since we have been roaming Middle-Earth for some time, we would just like to introduce ourselves here on the forums:
• About Kinship
Riddles in the dark was founded by a couple of experienced Lotro players. We are a small kin focused on PvE although we do have quite a few people that PvP. Our ongoing aim is completing all end-game whilst maintaining a friendly atmosphere and leaving room for real life commitments.
• Kinship goals:
The kin has been around since BG days, and we have completed every raid on challenge. We raid for the challenge and fun. Gear is important but it is a means to an end. We are currently doing a mixture of BG runs, skirmishes, Helegrod and ToO.
• Kinship members:
In Riddles in the dark we are all equal players, titles mean nothing and all raid team players' main character is an officer. Everyone gets their say and decisions are reached in a democratic fashion. We consider our kinmates as friends and treat each other accordingly.
• Loot and crafting rules:
With the new looting system, we have adjusted our loot-rules to fit the current state of the game. The main rule in Riddles has always been common sense and we encourage people to share loot with kinmates before selling items on the auction house.
We cover all kinds of crafting within the kin, material costs are the maximum payment required for kinship crafting.
• Communication:
We use Teamspeak as main communication. Everyone is required to use it and speak English no matter what primary language one speaks. Since we have many different nationalities represented in the kin it gives us the opportunity to listen to many lovely accents.
• Recruitment:
Although we seldom recruit actively our doors are by no means closed. If you are an experienced, respectful individual with a passion for the game and an interest in Riddles in the Dark please feel free to check out our website or contact any one of our members in game. We have a community of mature players with an average age over 30 at the moment and our kin-chat tends to go to the wicked adult side so we do not recruit people below the age of 18. We want a small kin with raiders who know each other well, so we expect our raiders to be very active and online regularly.
Progression
We are currently clearing Battle for Erebor and Fires of Smaug on Tier 2. We are also doing weekly runs in Ost Dunhoth with the odd run in Helegrod.
• Raid time and schedule:
Our raiding times are usually between 7 pm GMT and 10 pm GMT although they can continue beyond this time particularly when we are learning a new raid.
Just a quick heads up we have a spot for a hunter.
So if you like the idea of fun raiding with little pressure with like minded mature people, that still gets results then perhaps Riddles is the kin for you.
ps - remember your application will be kept hidden from public viewing.

Grat's to everyone for getting wound challenge done. A hunter issue has sadly been holding us back on this challenge (we seem to break or lose our hunters to real life issues)!
Special note should also go to Zil who we know was dying to be there when we done challenge but is not able to complete his transfer as of yet and is having a really hard time of it, good luck Zil and we all hope your issues with the transfer is soon resolved mate.

Grats to everyone for finally downing DB on challenge mode tonight, we had a couple of go's last week but DB had not really been our focus so was surprised we killed him quite quickly when we think of how much time we had put into learning that challenge.
Big grats all and a big thank you to everyone in the kin for being totally awesome kinnies and making raiding so much fun and enjoyable, even when i am trying to dish out loot and your all passing cos you feel someone else needs it more than you do and i end up tearing my hair out cos i can't give loot away in this kin

Just a minor update: We are still raiding actively and having fun in Riddles. Yesterday we cleared the Dragon raid on tier 2, and we are running daily skirmish raids for armour pieces.
Grats to all riddlers, what a night it was and what an end. Even GM's cant demoralize us with non helpful decision and stop us going back despite buggy fight
Now after we cleared Tower of Orthanc tier 1 our aim is to start progressing on tier 2 and challenges. For that task we need more balanced groups. We are looking for 2-3 new players who can commit to raids 3-4 evening weekly.
We are currently working on ToO tier 2 we have done both lightening and fire and frost and our gaze is now fixed at the acid wing, if you think you can handle raiding with a bunch of mad people then please fill in our application form we look forward to hearing from you
It is interesting times these days in Riddles. We are working hard on the new raid. Currently we have Lightning boss on farm on T2 hardmode and Fire and frost on T2, and are farming them weekly. we are working hard on the acid boss, and clearing the rest of the instance weekly on T1 for drops.
Due to RL obligations for some of our raiders, we are currently looking for a raidready tank and a minstrel. If you dont mind wiping again and again, being online and raiding many days of the week and can generally keep a good spirit even when repair bills are high, then we would be happy to hear from you You can follow the application link below, and be advised, that all applications are kept confidentially inside the kinship forums.
Welcome to Tubd and Nightchill who joined us this week! We are full on most classes now, but we could still use one raidready champ and a tank-Guardian or warden

I would love to see a warden in the kin, got a soft spot for those paper armoured fearless warriors

Sadly enough, we still dont have a main warden in the kin. That said, we are not at the moment recruiting actively any classes, although we ofc always look into applications.
One of our Captains have stepped up to more action, so we are not actively looking for another captain at the moment, although we would consider applications from a good active captain carefully.
Right now, we are looking for a Tank and a LM. We are working hard on the last challenges in ToO, so we would really need people with a good knowledge of their class, who can step in right off and help out. If you feel, that you fit that description and dont mind wiping alot and having a good laugh, we would like to hear from you. Just be prepared for a really wicked sense of humor too
We have recruited a Guardian and a Loremaster on trial, but we would still like a warden in the kin- we never seemed to have luck with getting one. Since we are working hard on the remaining two challenges, we will need a warden, that is raidready and has good knowledge of the class.
