The Laurelin Art Thread
B-because Isil told me to start it. Here, have a smelly hobbit granny to start what should be at least a hundred times more EPIC than the old tread!

I cannot await the new artworks from Laurelin's finest, to appear here!
But shall we also compile the old as well?Andarne Glingaeron, "Baingol", o Lothlórien.

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
Personally I'd rather see new art (of which I have none...) than have the complete old thread reposted. If the backup they're compiling on LotroComm works we'd at least have the old threads and image links preserved.
Looking forward to seeing Nimlith's new notebook pages

Love the Old Granny Hobbit.

A bit tempted myself to post a few sketches soon-ish, now that there isn't the 15 post thingy.Dernière modification par LilyGhost_UK ; 01/06/2011 à 18h33.

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
Hello fellow artists in our new home!
So, for now I am just reposting older images there - Imlad Balchorth, Lansi-Ma (progress). I suppose that I will find some time to finish some newer pieces soon...
I hope Saelinen, Milawyn, Aearandir and many others will (re)post their stuff there too...

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
Figured I'd add my most recent work, even if it's pretty old by now. I will make some new stuff eventually, but I need to upgrade my machine first. The same one can be found on the Laurelin Archives site.

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
Thank you Isil, but I'm really not. I'm actually a self-professed talentless hack xD
Dvarlin, I use a program called Daz Studio. It's like Poser. You take the pre-made models, tweak to your hearts desire and hit the render button
It's a free program for those interested, but the models themselves cost.

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
A BIIIIIIG bump! Just wanted to share my latest artscreen ^^

Inspired by the Artwork from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
EDIT: Don't ask my why Gandalf is on the picture, he just ended up there
But the rest of the characters in the picture are all there for a reason. Those who have seen me RP (and my RP stories) surely know why
The image still needs a bit of polishing up, but I'll do it when I have spare time on my hands.Dernière modification par Sarathaela ; 21/06/2011 à 01h48.

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
Art comes in many forms and it is wonderful to see it.
Keep up the good work!
And now for my little contribution. A poem, feedback welcomed *grin*
Woad Rage
I was asked to find some special woad whilst out Esteldin way,
"There's not much left, it got trampled" I heard the lady say
"We need it to support the coming war to dye the ranger's sashes"
"It makes identifying the dead much easier when sifting through the ashes"
How could I have refused her? when she explained their plight
I wanted to help the Rangers in their impending fight
So off I went a'venturing to help this lady bold
I went in the direction just as I was told.
"It grows around the trees and rocks out where the big beasts roam"
(apparently their droppings help improve the loam)
So I raced towards the nearest trees sprinting across the ground
I looked in all the crevasses but not a single plant was found
I turned and saw the problem I filled with anger and with fear
No wonder I couldn't find one half of Middle Earth was here
She's asked each and every stranger as they came through the gate
and they brought along their best friend, his brother and his mate.
The field was filled with people as far as the eye could see
Hobbits from Bywater, Dwarves... and Men from Bree
My temper began to rise and I couldn't help my self
when out from behind a pine tree stepped a smiling Elf
I hit him with my backpack then pounded with my fist
I went at him with fury he had no chance to resist
I flew into a frenzy and I admit I hit him well
and like a sack of taters, down that poor Elf fell
So that is why I'm sitting here, with a guard on either side
and telling you my story (with just a hint of pride)
It turns out the lady is a fraud and the woad will never see a sash
She's made a deal in Ered Luin and is raking in the cash

Re: The Laurelin Art Thread
A big hello and thanks to all those posters on this thread. *And a big wave to all those from the thread's previous incarnation.*
It would be great to try and get this one a sticky!
Well here is some of my input. They are, for now, focussed around our Kin, but in time I hope to do more generic artwork of places and events.

Patrols along the routes between Imladris and Mithlond are a key part of what we do. Oftentimes this is done in secret, but a more open show of our presence is sometimes required.

This was an illustration of an assault on some goblin camps, details of which can be found here; http://laurelinarchives.org/node/5397

Echad Rond is the location where we train our scouts. More details of which (for those interested) can be found here; http://laurelinarchives.org/node/5681
I hope you enjoy the images but a big reminder to everyone to respect the rights of all the posters in this thread and seek permission before using any words or images elsewhere!
