~ Are you a seasoned player looking for new companions to tackle end game content?
~ Are you new to the game and want to be among friends willing to take you under their wing and help you learn?
~ Perhaps you’re returning to the game and just looking for a nice group of players to socialize with while you knock the rust off.
Remnant is looking for mature, social and friendly gamers.
About us:
Remnant sprang from a group of adventurers determined to form a group with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, yet one that was also well organized and active. Remnant members enjoy the thrill of high end game content but we also enjoy socializing, questing, crafting, epic books and anything that sounds challenging or fun.
The leadership of Remnant focuses on being organized and responsive to the needs of our members. We seek input from our members through our suggestion forum, voice chat and monthly Town Hall meetings. We provide the tools for you to get to know your kin mates and to get help when you need it.
We offer:
An active calendar with several weekly activities, instances and raids. Members are free to add events of their own to the calendar when they need help or just want to plan something fun.
TeamSpeak support for raiding or casual voice chat. Friendly enough that members chat there even when not playing LotRO.
Top quality members and stable leadership, devoted to the kin and each other, great personalities and character.
A beautiful kin hall for activities and use as a travel point
A kinship bank with many useful, free items for our members.
We are looking for new friends to add to our ranks. If your interest is piqued at all, please visit our web site or speak with us in game. As our motto says “Fear not, you are with friends”.
I joined Remnant a while ago. The calender is pretty active 3-4 raids a week. You don't need to be an experienced raider the people here are patient and will explain what you need to do and how each fight goes before you start it.
I was a pretty new player to LOTRO when I joined and they answered all of my questions and gave some "pro tips" on how the Warden works in at end game and how I could be a better warden.
Great kin, great people. Just have to apply on the website and one of the officers will chat with you in-game to kind of see if the kin is a good fit for you.
I joined Remnant recently and have found the people nothing but friendly and helpful..we are very active on Teamspeak which is a plus for me as I like to talk to people while I do stuff in game
If you are leveling up or transitioning into end game raiding I recommend checking us out and seeing if we are a good fit!
Kinship - Remnant (Landroval) ~ Beldanath - Captain
Kinship - Lions of Judah (Brandywine) ~ Belemrys - Loremaster All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
Just an update... Despite the summer doldrums, Remnant continues to grow and welcome friendly folks. Niasa en Estel recently merged with us, givng us the opportunity to play with more great people.
So, if you're friendly, sociable and looking for a home, get in touch with us.
I have now been a member of remnant for a few months. I had bounced around a few Kins before this, but did not find what I was looking for. I was introduced to the kin by a friend and I am so glad that he did.
First off the Leadership. Val, the Kin leader is a true Leader with a wide range of Knowledge and respect for all players no matter the Level you may be. Although Highly Knowledgeable, he is not a know it all and does ask questions, as well as always helping any member with anything they may need. He leads this Kin in a positive direction and the activity in this kin shine and that is due to his dedication to Remnant.
The officers: This is one part that I am particularly critical on. Many Kins have officers for no apparent reason. Not in Remnant. These individuals take a pride in the position they hold and are true leaders as well. Many times they have helped me beyond what any player would ever expect.
The membership : Wow a real group of respectful and true Lovers of the game. They help one another, and the Drama is almost non existent. Very active knowledgeable players that take the time to help you out when the call is made. Thanks Remnant!!
The mechanics of Remnant are simple in structure, dynamic in results. The Kin utilizes the DKP system, which I was new to. The website is top notch, excellent calender and sign up's for raids and other events. The site has forums which are active, and Team speak is usually populated. This Kin has a Allie program, so not only do you benefit from our membership but from other top rated Kins for raiding and pick up groups.
If you are seeking a Kin, your journey begins here with us....
For a while I have been very disappointed with kinships on Landroval. After a few months in Remnant I'm now sure it's a place to call a home.
If you want more than what regular kins offer, then come see how Remnant behave.
I want to welcome Loriendale to Remnant. A hunter, he's been one of our fine allies for some and has now decided to become more closely associated with Remnant. He's looking forward to being more involved with the kinship and we're looking forward to rubbing elbows with him even more!
Just a quick update... Remnant has been going through a growth spurt. We've gained several new folks this week and have been downing Draigoch regularly. So, if you're looking for companionship, raiding or both, check us out!
Remnant's mission is twofold. First, we strive to foster a genuinely friendly and social atmosphere in the kinship. Second, we are dedicated to helping members experience all that LotRO has to offer.
In pursuit of the first goal, we have a private TeamSpeak server where members hang out and group for events. Our web site is active with news, events, crafting orders and more. Our kin hall with chests contain consumables and other supplies, free for our members' use. We also have a bank that members donate to, with supplies free to any Remnant for the asking.
To assist members who want to see all of LotRO, we begin by being well organized. Any member is free to schedule events on our calendar. We do our best to help them, whether it be with a difficult quest or a classic raid, such as the Rift. Our kinship raids multiple times each week in addition to running instances and questing together. We are not a hard-core raiding kinship but we manage to tackle the end-game challenges while still making time for older content.
Something I'm really proud of is our willingness to answer questions, learn together and, most importantly, to maintain a sense of humor when the poo hits the fan in a difficult challenge. In Remnant, you're part of a real team.
If you'd like to know more, please mail be back with any questions or stop by our web site at:
After 1 year+ in Remnant I know there's no better place to call home.
Remnant is still looking for more friends, come visit our website and join us : http://remnant.guildportal.com
We're still friendly and we're still active! This week, we ran Orthanc, Draigoch, Skirmish raids and hosted a Moria night. We have Helegrod, BG and DN coming up.
If you're looking for a great group of players to enjoy Middle Earth with, drop by our website or look for us in game.
One of the things that makes Remnant an interesting place is the fact that we tackle a larger variety of content than most kinships. Many of our members have not had the chance to see older, classic instances, so we run them fairly often. In recent weeks, we've run Moria instances, Helegrod, Orthanc, Ost Dunhoth, the In Their Absence instances and many others I've forgotten!
Great group of friendly, knowledgeable and patient folks. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and recommend it to anyone else looking for a place where there's opportunity to do everything or nothing, its all your call.
I must however warn people that one of the officers is an admitted Philly Flyers fan. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I left that out. You've been warned.
Hello all.
I have seen the odd Remnant advert in GLFF lately, and wanted to check to see if this thread was being monitored regularly.
About me. Mature gamer (mid 40s) , with voice comms, decently fast gaming computer, etc.
I have been playing Lotro fairly regularly for almost two years, and am interested in being in a kin where I can run both the newer and older content that I have not had the opportunity to raid, due to small, very casual kin. I would like to be able to run with a group a couple nights a week (ish), and have a solid grasp of all basic group/raid roles etc.
I own all the content except for two skirms.
My current 85 is a Warden, that I greatly enjoy, currently 3 pcs. of Hytbold and working on it. Decided he would be first to level cap this time as I am interested in tanking with him in higher level content.
My Loremaster is on his way to cap, currently at 80, and my Burglar will be leveled up third.
As you can see, I like characters that are fairly complex to play, and enjoy support roles.
I have several lower level alts and of course am always willing to group with people for that content, or help out with a big guy as needed.
If someone willing to tank the "gearing/leveling up" instances would make a good fit for Remnant, please reply here or in a message, I check the forums every day or two.
Greetings Exroofer! Yes, we monitor the thread in case someone has a question or two about the kinship. From your background, it sounds like we'd be a good fit for you. Remnant is an extremely active kinship but our focus is broad. We don't want to run JUST the newest raid. It's important to us to help our members experience all the content LotRO has to offer, both old and new.
A quick look at our calendar shows that in the last month, we've run Bard Guldur at level 85 (newer content) but we've also run Orthanc, the Rift, Moria instances, Annuminas, Helegrod, Fornost, Carn Dum, Garth Agarwen, Draigoch, In Their Absence, raids in the Moors Sammath Gul and Dar Narbugud! I'm not sure there is another kinship in Landroval successfully running so many different events.
While we achieve our goal of being very active, rest assured that our primary goal is to be social and provide a friendly place to play. Our leadership is far more open and accessible than most. We host regular open house nights for people to ask questions and provide suggestions. We host monthly planning meetings for members to help determine what events we'll run each month. We have a bank with approximately 200 items that members can request at no cost. Our forums are quite active, with over 5300 posts. Our TeamSpeak server always has members online (when the darned servers are up) to hang out with.
As for gearing up, I think you'll find Remnant to be very generous. Sure, every group says they'll craft for you but our folks have handed out dozens of tarnished symbols, made hundreds of pieces of gear and provide regular stacks of food, tokens, scrolls, etc. just to be helpful to another kinmate.
Remnant is truly a fantastic kinship with plenty of generous, kind people. With that in mind, we interview all applicants to get a feel for them and ensure that people we bring in are ALSO going to be kind, generous and helpful, since a kinship is only as good as it's members.
If remnant sounds like a place you'd like to spend your time, drop by http://remnant.guildportal.com and click on the Join Remnant link. Fill out the app then look for us in game to have a chat.
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for the interest!
I can only attest to what has been said before. I joined back in June 2012 and I have not regretted it at all. Great kinship, loyal group, wide variety of players and content. Raids, instances etc. We have been gaining more European players so we are also scheduling things to accommodate that time zone!
This sounds like a kin I'd love to be a part of. One question though, what time do you usually run your raids? What timezone are the majority of your members located in?

Thanks!
The majority of the members are without a doubt in the US, with a very small (5-6 members) but active European group. Raids have the last months been scheduled with a raid on a weekday (Monday - Wednesday) at 9pm EST and a raid Saturday at 2pm EST. The remaining days are often filled too with fellowship events, old raid content, and various other events such as creep nights.

I was going to check out the website already, but knowing that there is an officer that is a Flyers fan makes me want to check out the website even more.

Yes, indeed. I'm always looking to swell our ranks against the forces of evil (namely, Rangers fans). Actually, hockey allegiances aside, we really do have a fantastic group of players. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you'd like more information.
Do you also accept currently Levleing toons? I have a 42 Minstrel and 31 Hunter I am looking to get into a Kin that may also have other lwer level toons to go through instances/3-man skirms and eventually raid.

Yes, indeed we do. We have kinmembers of all levels, and we certainly don't require our new recruits to be level-85 raid-ready. We schedule a wide variety of events, everything from deed-grinding fests and various instances to end-game raids. We also encourage our members to schedule any events they'd like to run. Please feel free to message Suz or me if you'd like more information!
