level 65 First Age champion greatsword - recipe or drop only?

My apologies if this was answered in another post already, but I have looked everywhere and do not see where there is a recipe to craft a level 65 First Age champion's greatsword (except in the Lorebook and I think that's wrong). Does a recipe exist or is this weapon only available as a drop? Finally got a symbol of the Elder King and was hoping to use it to make something worthwhile. Any info would be appreciated......Yula? Yula? ;o)

Well I'm not Yula but I can tell you where to look for the recipe, Weaponsmith guild, Legendary vendor.

The recipe is "Reshaped Champion's Greatsword of the First Age Recipe" and sells for 600s. You will have to be kindred with the Weaponsmith guild to use it or know someone who is.

Edit to clarify: you only have to be kindred with the guild to make it, you just have to be level 65 to use it, so someone can make it for you if you're not a member of the guild.

Finally got to craft my First Age level 65 greatsword. ID'd 3 majors to begin with and somehow I already knew what would happen. Yep, 3 minors in a row on my next 3 re-forges. Now I have a shiny, good looking pile o' poo. LOVE the legendary system....in the immortal words of Charlie Brown...AUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!

yep, the legacies you get when you have to reforge are a roll of the dice.

I also have a question regarding the sword.

I've looked it up in the lorebook: https://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Weap..._the_First_Age

I'm not a weaponsmith but I'd like to get it crafted by someone else. Anyway, my main question was, are the items needed all bind on acquire items or can they be bought at AH?
Cause if so, I'd probally buy some out of AH, instead of grinding for drops.

Yes you can buy everything you need from the AH.
None of the items are BoA.

Currently on my server, Gladden, a Symbol of the Elder King goes for @ 150-300 gold.

None of the other stuff is especially expensive. You will need five legendary fragments - at one point these were selling for a gold a piece on Meneldor. One mithril flake. Some regular mats.

Sales of the Symbol of the Elder King are very uncommon. They only come out of the OD raid. There are not many kins that do OD on Meneldor.

Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Fragments, you need SEVEN of them by the way, are pretty cheap if you want to buy them.

You can get legendary frags from deconstructing LI's.

I get them occasionally deconstructing lvl 0 LI's from other classes I blow up.

When I level a Legendary Item over 30 I always get at least 1 Legendary Fragment when I deconstruct it.

On Gladden Legendary Fragments are selling for @ 500 silver each so 3.5 gold for the seven you will need to make a First Age.

Re: level 65 First Age champion greatsword - recipe or drop only?

i'm usually only getting fragments from LI's that are level 65, and then leveling them to at least 30.

if i decon any LI below 65, even if i max it out, i rarely get fragments. i do get a ton of shards however.
