If we'd like to chat/setup/play/leave in 15 minutes instead of 20, may we or should we seek to hit exactly 20 minutes?

Re: Weatherstock 2011
I'm from Laurelin, and I rolled (more exactly, cloned) a char in Landroval to assist the event. I know at least another kinmate will assist too. This looks interesting!
Kalluin - Elf Guardian - Caun of Vanimar (Laurelin)
Miste - Elf Minstrel - Lady of the Harp at Vanimar (Laurelin)
Vestri - Dwarf Champion - Tyalie, the Spanish Tolkien Society's kinship (Laurelin)

Re: Weatherstock 2011
*waves to Kalluin excitedly*
Myself and 4 Laurelin kinmates rolled alts on Landroval yesterday, we hope to be able to attend Weatherstock (time zones permitting, as between us we live on 4 different continents!) and attending some other events once we level up enough.
Actually I made not so much an alt as a complete duplicate of Aelaer, my main character, as she absolutely loves seeing new places and meeting new people. She just couldn't bring much luggage with her on her travels across the water and had to leave her beloved horse at home.

Re: Weatherstock 2011
We are honored to have so many alts attend from across the oceans! Be at the South Bree gates on that day, and watch regional and OOC chat for escorts and summons. You can access Bree by stable. You should be at level 7-8 minimum. Once at Weathertop, stay close to middle due to flying Crebain.
Very important! get some traveling rations!

Aelaer! Good to see MAtM at this corner of the world! Vanimar has landed in Landroval with a copy kinship and right now we are working to stabilize it with 8 chars, but it appears we will be coming around four people to Weatherstock.*waves to Kalluin excitedly*
In any case, the event seems interesting enough to make the effort.Kalluin - Elf Guardian - Caun of Vanimar (Laurelin)
Miste - Elf Minstrel - Lady of the Harp at Vanimar (Laurelin)
Vestri - Dwarf Champion - Tyalie, the Spanish Tolkien Society's kinship (Laurelin)

Re: Weatherstock 2011
I'm excited myself. I've even started an attempt to role-play so that's a start.
So I'll be there and my character's name is MEGALUS he is an elven rune-keeper. Gotta love The Lonely Mountain Band. Can't wait to see everyone gather on such a small hill top. It's gonna be my first time. I'm from Crickhollow and my friends are excited, too.

Re: Weatherstock 2011
This visitor from Windfola is planning to attend. I'm doing an article for our website on roleplaying and this is a golden opportunity to observe it! Also attempting to coax a kinmate or two from my home server to tag along. Look for a human burglar named Taynith to be lurking somewhere in the vicinity!

AW: Weatherstock 2011
I also rolled a char on Landroval for this event: Introducing Holmbur, the dwarf hunter.

Do you expect problems with the layering mechanics? We had a CM farewell event on Belegaer, and the "event layer" was filled in almost no time, almost an hour before it started no one could be invited there any more. And we didn't even have players from other servers coming.in my thoughts and in my dreams they´re always in my mind

you can see them, too

Re: Weatherstock 2011
I do not think we will run into a problem with a layer "cap" for Weatherstock, but if we do, there are several backup plans in place:
1) Livestreaming from the event
2) A secondary event at the Freakout Zone
3) An army of "layer wranglers" to pop you in and out of layers
I've been told in the past that there is no layering on landscape like Weathertop. In fact, Weatherstock was the first question that players had when layering was first introduced. In the past, we've had Dev Guardian Angels watching over this event. So let's hope it is not a problem we need to worry about. Last year, the server performance was flawless.

Re: Weatherstock 2011
I think we've got about five Kin members + myself attending from Riddermark, with another four on the maybe list.
Also two of us were at the Bird and Baby Inn Tuesday night, and we have about twenty screenshots (cut down from an overwhelming forty lol.) My Screenshot folder will be bursting by the end of Weatherstock!
One question though if someone sees it before tomorrow; Are the times listed really in EST, or are they in EDT (EST with Daylights Savings Time) I have seen it written both ways the past week, which has been slightly confusing me.
-
Jun 17 2011 12:11 PM #38
Re: Weatherstock 2011
If a time is given in EST or EDT it's pretty much always in the CURRENT time the east coast is following. It's currently EDT, yes, but people usually just call it EST anyway. If your country/timezone/region does not practice the Daylight savings switch, you'll have to calculate based on EDT.

Re: Weatherstock 2011
Please let me offer my congratulations in advance to Harperella and all the many fine musicians and organizers of this fantastic event. I regret that I am unavailable for tonight's activities, as I have a prior commitment, and will only be able to catch the first hour or so of Saturday's extravaganza due to another commitment.
Good luck to all and may the best band win!
