Thread: Brandywine Small Kinship alliance chat channel

Based on the fact that there are ton's of small kins on brandywine, I'm going to attempt to create small kinship alliance chat channel. From there all small kins can meet other folks make friends and have the potential to group up do content they otherwise might not have access too.

We welcome players not in kinships at all, Alt-o-holics who's alt teams have their own kins, as well as those who just want another avenue to be social away from their extremely large kins. Feel free to drop in and say hello anytime .

for all those interested in joining the channel it's as simple as using the following command.

/joinchannel SKA

In case you don't know when you join a channel it will place itself in user1, user2, user3 or user4 as such you can use the /1, /2, /3, or /4 command to chat into the channel.

Some members of SKA do utilize Ventrillo, you can contact members in the channel and ask about the info. Though it's not my server Leralay from Last company of the Noldor has been kind enough to allow people to use hers.

Well I'm happy to report that the channel has been a success. We've met some nice folks. Were able to run some instances and have been having a great time .

We haven't really done any events, though we have managed to get some groups together to do instances and such..and generally we just have a great time chatting and enjoying the game. But it's nice because it gives us a chance to get to know others and have a bigger group of people to be able to fill out groups and such. The hubby and I have met some really nice people since the we started the channel.

SKA has taken off. I'm trying to compile a list of all the kinships we've been able to meet on the Alliance channel. Please, post your kinship name, and your leader or officer contacts toons name so we know who to send alliance info to regarding events and such.

I'll Start it off:

Wielders of Light- Eaglefeather(Leader)
Anumil(succesor)

You guys may want to talk to some of the larger clans as well for support. Runic Knights is quite large (Due to meldor spamming the invite button ) and we have tons of experienced, helpful players in the clan.

Myself and a few others have helped a few other clans with PuG raids in the rift recently for example. I've got all the stuff from there, did it all pre-moria, etc, etc, so me going was just to help, not to loot or roll on the gems. I did finally make kindred for the faction there though

Normally if a kin member is asked to join something or asked to ask the kin, they will shoot out a message in kin chat and there is normally a few people who will jump on the invite (sometimes time zones will effect this though).

Thanks for the advice. But I think our focus is to try and keep it small. We've found a great deal of smaller kins that have banded together. If we bring in Large Kins like Runic Knights I'm afraid it will turn into GLFF x2. We're trying to avoid that

This sounds like a great idea to me. I will definately check it out next time I am in the game.

I am not in a kin at the moment and seems like the perfect way to participate in groups in "your" time.

I think you misunderstood me.

I am not saying we jump into the channel, far from it, i am saying if you need people to fill slots or need a particular class for whatever, contacting guilds like RK maybe something of an option.

Ah, understood. Thank you for the offer. I for one will keep that in mind. Especially when moors or OD groups come up.

Razor and I are the only ones active at the moment but we each have 2 level 65 characters active.

We have a total of 6 members

Being brand new to the game would it be alright if people not in kinships join the channel in hopes of meeting other players and or join up with them? I would rather make friends with a few small groups of people then try to navigate through a huge kinship.

Trying to meet people out questing or even in any of the game channels can be a bit rough and tiresome. It'd be nice to at least converse with people a little easier.

You are exactly the type of player we're looking for

I'm with OZ Clan and our unofficial division in LotRO is called the OZ Clan Wolfpack. We're tightly knit and play a lot of games together. Right now--and this dynamic changes as new games come out--there's myself and a handful of folks who play LotRO right now, some Guild Wars fellows gearing up for the big GW2, the LoL guys and gals, and a solid L4D2 crew (which I mostly played with before LotRO). And we all love a good Team Fortress 2 server invasion every once in a while.

Currently I'm the only one who hangs around in SKA, but I think I convinced Vander to put out a call for fellowship members in the channel once. Had a good run with Eidle that way.

Well SKA is going to be 1 year old in may...we are still going strong and have made lot's of friends and had lot's of good times together. Feel free to drop in a say Hi, we are always looking to meet new folks.

I have recently rejoined the Ranks of LOTRO, I am a lifetimer and definitely looking for some good grouping and instance action.. I moved from my original server (Meneldor) and have a "Gaming Community" Also we have a Kin in LOTRO.. But I am the only one still playing.
So, I will be joining the chat channel sometime this weekend cant wait to see you all , sounds like a great time.

I'm glad to hear it MrsAngelD. My job keeps moving me around and Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 have stole most of my game time but I plan to be back in LOTRO hard soon and I always enjoy the SKA channel and people! See y'all soon.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I will spread to the word to my kin and see if we can join in on the fun as well. Sorry I haven't been as around on SKA as much (not that I was ever too vocal with chatter). Anyhow, Wynter--lemme know if you need any help with the prizes! I'm all the time crafting my little toons brains out just to have stuff on hand to hand out anyhow. Also, you're welcome to borrow our kin's vent if you guys need--will be glad to post the info if you need.

I can help with the following that are up to westfold:
Stangard trail food
Theodred rep food
Tier 7 hope tokens
Tier 6 battle and warding scrolls
Any thing tailoring involved under the sun (yes even the Forochel stuff)
Metalsmithing stuff (no Forochel stuff though)

I haven't specifically picked a time zone quite yet..still coming up with ideas really. Thank you very much for volunteering to help .

I think forming up in bree near the yellow tree and doing a parade thru bree and ending at the greenway crossroad just outside the bree west gate. Then stay there and have trivia/give-aways of die, beers, food, ect. Encourage player sparring and stuff like that.
