This is probably best answered by customer service and you should call them.. They will not respond to specific account based questions on an open forum.

However, did you call toe credit card company to find out why? I know you said you verified funds, but maybe they (the credit card company) thought the charge was fraudulent and denied it.

I know it happens to me every now and then. Even though it is a recurring charge on the same credit card, the credit company thinks it is fraudulent and blocks the transaction. I have to call them and say it is a valid charge.

I think what happens is when there are a certain number of charge backs to a certain vendor, it auto triggers a block to all users. I am not saying that you did anything wrong. It is just a method they use to help protect you.

what i can say is that lotro is not very smart when it comes to cash... my cc exp date changed (which i realize may not be your issue) and instead of notifying me like most companies do, they let it lapse and cancelled me...

they lost a week of revenue before I found out and signed back up and everything was normal again...

    Hey Shroock,

As jaxhammer mentioned, subscription fee payments can fail for reasons other than insufficient funds. I recommend contacting your bank and confirming with them that there are no blocks on charges from Turbine. You can then reactivate your VIP subscription by clicking the ‘Resume’ button when logged into myaccount.turbine.com.

If you continue to experience problems or have any other questions, please contact our Account Support department via phone or web inquiry, and they will be happy to assist. Contact information is in my signature.

    Hey Jayvani,

I'm sorry that you didn't receive notification that your card was expiring during the month. We do send out email notifications to players before the credit card on file expires every month. To ensure that you receive these emails, please confirm that the email address on file with your account is current. Re: Subscriptions downgraded from VIP status due to non-payment

Like the others have mentioned, there could be a number of reasons for it not going through. Your card expiring being just one of them. My subscription was suspended after I moved because I updated my address with my bank, but forgot to change my zip on Turbin's paysite. When the charge tried to go through, the zip code didn't match what the bank had, and they denied it.

There could also just be a glitch in the system. I assume that is what happened the last time I was downgraded earlier this year. The only way I found out was that when I logged in, I was asked which char I wanted to not have access to, as I has lost my two VIP slots. I went in, plugged in the exact same info, and submitted, and was back in game.

Talking Re: Subscriptions downgraded from VIP status due to non-payment

    Hi,

I was looking for some assistance, my friend I play LOTRO with has just been playing LOTRO with me up until the point where we were accepting quests at Rivendell when it was asking him to purchase the quest packs. As far as his account goes he is on a VIP 3 monthly payment plan.

He has checked back through his bank statements and Turbine where not due to take a payment until 12/01/12 but instead seem to have cancelled his account prior to the 12/01/12.

He signed into his myaccount.turbine.com to get the error message as per this post subject, he click the 'Reactivate' button and payment has been successful, however now when he logs in, his account shows as a premium member and still has no access to do the quests unless he pays for the quest pack again.

Can someone point me in the right direct to assist my friend also I would like to be able to see the subscription prices. As a LF VIP I am unable to find these anywhere.

P.s. He has spoken to the chaps on help in game who were unable to assist as they don't access to billing information so pointed him in the direction of the knowledge and support page however, he seems to be stuck in a loop getting kicked back to the homepage any help would be appreciated on how he can get his VIP status again cause we are itching to continue our questing.

    Thanks,

Wait one day. If that doesn't work, call Account Support.

And next time please start your own topic instead of bringing an old one back from the dead.

As Nakiami says, your friend will want to contact Account Support via phone or web inquiry. Contact information is in my signature.

Closing this, as it's real old.
